Chapter 6: An Account of the Hawk Family
In just half an hour, all of Texas had received the news.
Predatory Eagle and Blackwater mercenaries had taken control of the entire city's transportation and were searching for Jenny's whereabouts.
All the underground forces in Texas, upon learning this news, chose to actively curry favor with them.
They all knew very well that in Texas, Blackwater mercenaries were God.
And they had long received word from the Bruce Villa that Aaron had already submitted to Predatory Eagle.
If they could connect with Predatory Eagle, they could get plenty of rewards.
Morrison had been managing all this information and tracking everything with his people.
More than ten minutes later, inside the Bruce Villa.
Morrison called out to Wayne, "Boss, we've tracked down some information."
"The car that took Jenny belongs to a shell company, but when we traced the registration info, we found it's connected to the Hawk family."
The Hawk family?
They had been on good terms with the Bruce family for a long time, and the Bruce family had always looked after their business.
But since Wayne's parents died, Merlin had been handling all these matters.
In other words, they had reached an agreement with Merlin.
"Get the car ready. Morrison, come with me. Everyone else, take care of Emily."
"Tonight, I'm going to make the Hawk family pay."
Wayne's eyes instantly turned cold, and he headed toward the Hawk Villa with his people.
Meanwhile, inside the Hawk Villa.
"Mr. Hawk, Predatory Eagle's people are heading this way. For your safety, please get in the car and leave immediately."
A bodyguard rushed up to Allen Hawk, shouting anxiously.
However, Allen didn't choose to leave. He put down his wine glass. "Run? Right now all of Texas is already under Predatory Eagle's control. Do you really think I can leave Texas in a short time?"
And even if he really could leave, what about the Hawk family's assets? Were they just going to abandon them?
"Then what should we do now?" the bodyguard asked.
"Let's go wait at the entrance," Allen said.
When Wayne arrived at the Hawk Villa, a blonde, blue-eyed middle-aged man was already standing at the entrance.
He wore an expensive suit and walked toward Wayne with a big smile on his face.
Allen greeted Wayne with a cheerful expression: "Wayne, it's been so long. I never expected you would actually visit the Hawk Villa on your own."
Wayne suppressed the rage in his heart, but his tone still carried thick killing intent: "Allen, I'm giving you one chance. Tell me where Jenny is, and I can make it quick for you."
Allen felt a terrifying killing intent. Even though Wayne wasn't holding anything, it still made him feel the suffocating sensation of death.
"My dear Wayne, I know Jenny's disappearance has made you very unhappy."
"But this wasn't my doing, and it has nothing to do with anyone else in the Hawk family."
Allen forced himself to stay calm. "This was all done by my brother acting on his own. When I found out about it, I immediately had my people deal with it."
"You mean you only decided to tell me this after you realized you couldn't hide it anymore?" Wayne's eyes were filled with killing intent.
"Not at all. He kept our entire family completely in the dark. He colluded with Merlin to do this, but we can provide you with very useful intelligence."
"If you don't believe me, you can look at this."
Allen waved his hand, and a bodyguard came over with a tablet showing a video.
At some airport, Allen's brother Henry was dragging a little girl toward a plane.
That private plane was the Hawk family's property.
"Their destination is Mexico. Wayne, this is all the information we have."
Allen's tone became gentler. "The Hawk family has always valued friendship highly. You and your late parents should know this well."
"This video was recorded just over ten minutes ago, and I've already sent people to intercept them."
Wayne didn't listen to what he was saying, but turned to look at Morrison.
Morrison nodded and immediately had his people go intercept at the airport, while also searching for other leads on Jenny.
"So, what do you want?" Wayne asked.
"I don't dare ask for anything else. I only want one thing, and that's for you to spare the Hawk family," Allen said.
Wayne smiled, pulled the gun from Morrison's waist, and pointed it directly at Allen's head.
The entire sequence was smooth and fluid, so fast that even Morrison didn't realize his gun had been taken.
By the time everyone else reacted, Allen's bodyguards had all raised their guns at Wayne.
"Everyone put your guns down!" Allen shouted at the bodyguards around him.
The bodyguards were stunned, but faced with Allen's order, they eventually put their guns away.
Allen showed a gentle smile again. "Wayne, how about you put down the gun and we have a proper talk?"
"Allen, I've never liked beating around the bush."
Wayne didn't lower the gun, still pressing it against his forehead. "I'm giving you one chance. Bring Jenny and Henry back to me within half an hour, or face the consequences."
Allen smiled. "I know you're anxious, but even so, my people are on their way there now. So why don't we go inside for some tea and rest a bit?"
"I'm right here, and you're surrounded by Predatory Eagle's people. Do you really think I can run?"
Wayne pulled back the gun and returned it to Morrison's waist. "You have twenty-eight minutes left."
"You really don't give people any chance to rest." Allen maintained his smile and made a welcoming gesture to Wayne.
Wayne said nothing, just followed Allen into the estate.
As for Morrison, he looked at the information on his phone, then at the tablet, his face showing concern.
Something felt off about this.
His skills weren't just useful on the battlefield. Looking at these videos, he always felt there was something strange about them.
"Boss!"
Just as Wayne entered the estate, Morrison's voice called out from behind him.
"What happened?" Wayne turned to ask.
Morrison spoke up. "The plane is a decoy. This video is wrong. I just had people investigate—it's a composite. And my people just sent word that they spotted Jenny in the South District."
Wayne's killing intent surged. "Allen, you better give me an explanation now."
The Texas airport was in the West and North Districts, but Jenny's location was in the South District.
And just then, Wayne's phone suddenly rang.
Looking at the number on his phone, Wayne couldn't help but frown. Unknown number?
But he still chose to answer.
The voice on the other end made Wayne's whole body shake, and the coldness in his heart diminished a bit: "Daddy."
