Chapter 7 The Mysterious Masked Man
Hearing that familiar voice, Wayne's heart filled with anxiety.
"Jenny, where are you?" Wayne shouted urgently, completely forgetting he was in the middle of negotiations with Allen.
However, the voice on the other end of the phone only lasted for that one cry before the call was disconnected.
This made Wayne's face darken. "Morrison, locate that phone's position as fast as possible. Don't make me wait too long."
"Yes, sir!"
Morrison knew clearly that Jenny was one of the most important people to Wayne, and he absolutely couldn't let his boss down.
So he pulled out his laptop and started tracking the location of that phone call.
But just then, his phone suddenly vibrated—a video had been sent to the phone.
Wayne said nothing, just opened the video.
In the video, a little girl was locked in a dark factory, with some wounds on her body.
Her eyes were blindfolded, and her delicate little face was full of fear and helplessness.
"Jenny!"
Wayne clenched his fists tightly, the killing intent radiating from him almost suffocating everyone around.
And just then, a man wearing a skull mask walked out from the shadows.
He held an elegant handgun in his hand and placed it against Jenny's head.
"You dare!"
Even though it was just a video, Wayne still couldn't control his emotions.
"Wayne, I know you're very capable, but what good does that do? After all, your daughter is in my hands right now."
The masked man laughed, lifting Jenny's chin. "Come on, Jenny, say hello to your daddy for the camera."
Jenny was trembling all over at that moment, with the dark gun barrel pointed at her head, as if she might die there the next second.
Wayne clenched his fists tightly. If he weren't afraid of damaging the phone and losing Jenny's whereabouts, he would have crushed the phone already.
"But don't worry, I won't do anything to your daughter. After all, we still need to have a good talk, don't we?"
The masked man put the gun away, then continued, "Now I'm giving you a chance. Tomorrow morning, Wolf Canyon. You come alone. If I find out you brought anyone else, you'll never see her again."
"Oh, and remember to bring Merlin with you when you come."
After the masked man finished saying this, the video ended.
Wayne couldn't control his emotions and crushed the phone directly.
"I'll start investigating Jenny's whereabouts right now." Morrison was also very angry and immediately had people start preparing.
As for Allen on the other side, he didn't know how to handle this anymore.
He had only needed to seize this opportunity to control Wayne, but he never expected those people would act on their own.
"Allen, you've really done well." Wayne's face was dark, the killing intent in his eyes completely unrestrained.
Allen waved his hands and said, "This wasn't our doing. I didn't expect them to suddenly change the plan either."
"So you're saying you knew about the previous plan?"
Wayne suddenly punched Allen in the face.
This punch knocked Allen to the ground. The bodyguards around them instantly drew their guns and aimed at Wayne.
But before they could react, each of their heads had a gun pressed against them.
"I'd advise you not to move, or things will get messy when your brains are blown out."
The Predator Eagle members had already infiltrated. Dealing with these people didn't require Wayne to lift a finger.
"Take them all away. If I don't see Jenny tomorrow, let them die."
After Wayne finished speaking, he turned and walked outside.
......
The Bruce Villa.
When Wayne returned, Aaron was already sitting on the sofa smoking a cigar. "Wayne, back so soon?"
Seeing Wayne's expression full of killing intent, he knew Jenny definitely hadn't been found.
"It's a trap."
"Boss, with our current technology, we can definitely find Jenny if we have a bit more time."
"Or I can send people to ambush Wolf Canyon right now. As soon as those people show up, we'll capture them all."
Morrison followed behind Wayne, constantly trying to persuade him. "Having you go to Wolf Canyon alone is really too dangerous."
Wayne sat on the sofa, staring at Morrison. "And what if you fail?"
"We won't fail." Morrison answered very seriously.
They were Predator Eagle, the world's top team. They would never fail.
"I'm well aware of your capabilities, but you should also understand that by doing this, you're gambling with Jenny's life."
Wayne's eyes were sharp. "What if Jenny dies?"
"So I have to go. Morrison, take good care of Emily. You're the only people I can trust."
Morrison didn't speak, because he knew very well how high the risk of doing this was.
And Wayne also knew that Morrison was worried about his safety.
"Aaron, what's Merlin's condition now?" Wayne turned to look at Aaron.
Being stared at by those eyes, even the battle-hardened Aaron felt a trace of fear.
Aaron snapped back to attention and quickly answered, "Half-dead, still in the wine cellar."
Wayne said nothing, just silently stood up and walked toward the wine cellar.
That night, heart-wrenching screams came from the wine cellar.
It wasn't until early the next morning that Wayne drove to Wolf Canyon.
As the most treacherous and undeveloped canyon in Texas, this place harbored quite a few dangers.
When Wayne arrived at the designated location, several people were already waiting there.
"Wayne, I didn't expect you'd actually come alone."
In front of him stood twenty fully armed mercenaries, their assault rifles already aimed at Wayne.
And in front of these armed personnel stood the man wearing the skull mask from the video.
Wayne looked at these people, a cold killing intent flashing in his eyes. "I came alone as you requested. Where's Jenny now?"
"Don't be so anxious. After all, I'm a very cautious person." The masked man laughed, then raised his hand.
An armed soldier brought out a box.
When the box was opened, it didn't contain Jenny, but rather a pair of delicate shoes and a recording device.
"What are you trying to pull?" Wayne clenched his fists, clearly about to lose control of his killing intent.
The masked man didn't speak, just threw the shoes on the ground, then took out the small recording device.
He turned on the recorder, and Jenny's miserable crying came from it.
"Daddy—save me, I don't want to stay here."
