Introduction
But fate had different plans for them.
Even though he rejected her, the bond between them strengthened.
“You should’ve killed me when you had the chance.” Sylvia challenged him.
His jaw clenched. “I couldn’t. My wolf wouldn’t let me.”
“Then teach him to forget me,” Her voice got low as she continued, “Because I won’t stop until your kingdom falls.”
What began as vengeance… might become destiny.
And when the truth is revealed… everything will burn.
Including their hearts.
Chapter 1
Sylvia’s POV:
"Who wants this rogue as their pet?" the auctioneer shouted, with a grin plastered on his face.
Everyone in that dark room cheered and howled. The scent of blood and sweat filled my nostrils.
"Strip her!" someone yelled.
"Let us see what we’re paying for!" another growled.
I kept a calm expression on my face, even though my whole body was on fire. My half naked body was completely on display for these men to ogle.
The metal cuffs were clinging onto my wrists. I am sure they would leave a scar, but that was the least bit of my concern at that moment.
"Five thousand. I’ll break her, myself." He licked his lips as he jeered.
By the looks of him, I realized he was an Alpha. I wanted to puke at the sight of that old man.
Picking up my head, I gave him a hard glare before I replied, "You can’t even afford to feed me, let alone tame me."
Silence…
For a minute I felt like I just won but soon another voice boomed.
"Twenty thousand."
Well… too bad. I wasn’t planning to back down too.
"Is that all?” The last word rolled out of my lips, sweet but poisonous, “Pathetic."
The challenge worked.
Another Alpha snarled, "Fifty thousand!"
Good.
I smirked internally at that.
The more chaos, the more time I had to get out of there.
I had already managed to get half of my hand out of the chains. If I would just push a little more, my hand would be out.
I knew it would hurt me or worse any bone would break but did I even have any option?
"One million."
There was complete silence in the room once again. All the heads turned towards the source of the voice.
It was him.
I didn’t need to see him to know.
There he was sitting at the top of the stairs in all his glory. Some men were surrounding him looking as dangerous as him, they were most probably his guards.
But there was another mysterious man sitting beside him.
He wasn’t cheering like all other men. With a calculative expression on his face, he twirled the glass of wine in his hands while his eyes were on me.
“Sold!” The auctioneer yelled.
Everyone started cheering and boosting the Alpha who had just bought me.
Before I could think or do anything pain shot in my wrists. I was out of the chains but not for long.
Two guards came to my side and held my arms like I was some kind of prisoner.
“Let go!” I growled as I tried to push my body away from them.
Those guards didn’t even budge and started dragging me towards their Alpha.
No.
No, no, no.
Sold to an Alpha? How could this be?
I tried to struggle, but the last bit of strength I had was already bleeding out.
Soon everything around me started to blur. My eyelids get heavy.
But just as I was about to pass out I saw a glint of a purple ring.
Wait… that ring…
That hand…
Before I could even process the information everything around me got black…
~~
I groaned as I opened my eyes, I was once again welcomed with darkness. My whole body was aching.
The floor beneath me was cold and my hands were tied on both sides.
“Zila…” with a shaky voice I called out to my wolf.
She stirred a little, and I sighed in relief. Though I could feel she was too weak at that moment.
She would need time to heal before she would be ready to fight against these people and finish what I came here to do.
I heard footsteps approaching the room.
I looked up when the door opened and some light made its way into the room.
That’s when my eyes fell on the man standing in front of me.
Valen Voss.
The Alpha King.
He got rid of the black coat he was wearing and now he was in his white shirt with his sleeves rolled, letting me see his veiny arms and his wide shoulders… mmm.
Wait… did I just ogle at this man?
His eyes moved up and down on my body like he owned me.
“Done ogling?” I asked, raising my eyebrows slightly.
He still didn’t look away, “No!”
“Can I ask the almighty king what he wants from me then?”
His lips twitched and finally a smirk appeared on his face, which made me confused for a moment.
“I would love to tame that sharp tongue of yours, my little pet.” His hand slightly brushed against my chin.
I moved my head to the other side not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing me weak.
“I am not your pet.” I gritted out the words.
Moving towards me a little more, he bent down on his knees, “But soon you will be.”
“I would kill you before that could even happen.”
His smirk widened, like he was enjoying teasing me.
“You would have to survive for that and with that sharp tongue of yours, I don’t think you have many days.”
I gritted my teeth and then on instinct I lunged to him but those chains snapped me back.
Valen didn’t even move back.
His hand moved behind my head and before I could even resist, he grabbed a fist full of my hair and turned my head to the side.
“Let. Go.” I snapped and tried to move to get out of his hold but it seemed to tighten more as I moved.
His hands brushed my long hair to the other side so that the back of my neck was on display.
But the next second he froze.
He seemed to be examining something, as his thumb brushed against my skin.
“Impossible,” he said with a low voice.
I moved again but then I felt something burning on the back of my neck.
“Ahh. What are you doing?”
“Your… your mark is glowing.” He was confused as he let those words out of his mouth, “Mate.”
And the next second my wolf screamed… “Mate!”
No!!! Not him.
Not this monster.
Not the man I came here to kill.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
