Introduction
“Shhh, a few moments of pleasure won’t undo the evidence you’re trying to get, Detective Rex.” He whispered into my ears sultrily as his second hand slowly moved towards my member. A touch was all it took for me to twitch in fear, excitement and anticipation.
Going undercover in order to burst the most notorious drug lord in America, Rex would stop at nothing until they are brought to book for all the crimes committed.
It starts out as an almost impossible mission but as time progresses, this mission fluctuates from daring to dangerous as Rex finds himself getting entangled with the same man who had murdered his parents.
In the long run, amid all the betrayals and revelations, it’s up to Rex to decide between love, revenge and his career.
Chapter 1
Rex
“He murdered your parents! He has destroyed hundreds of families! Are we just gonna sit here and do nothing?” Captain Fernando scolded and I clenched my fist, gritting my teeth in anger as I thought of that bastard.
“We’re trying our best sir.” I mumbled under my breath and he walked towards me, his eyes filled with rage as he stared at me for a second.
“Your best! Rex you were the youngest detective to work in this police force but now it seems like you’ll be stuck being a detective all your life! Rex, it’s been two years and all we’ve got on the Sinclair family is nothing but a bunch of headless cases without evidence!” He barked and I stared at the ground without a word.
“We’re trying our best.” My colleague, detective Aaron mumbled and Captain chuckled.
“Clearly your best has gotten us nowhere. I think it’s best I move all of you to another department since you’ve been on the case for too long…” Gasps rang out and I whipped my head up in shock.
“Sir— We’ve tried using ladies but…”
“But what! Can’t you see the organization is run by only men? They own the biggest bar, hotel and restaurant in Florida and it doesn’t shock you that they have only male staff? Use your brains!” He thundered and I exhaled.
“Sir, they're just too dangerous. The whole staff is afraid of saying a word, the staff has been trained not to say anything even under pressure. We’ve tried arresting a few staff but they’d make bail before we get enough time to interrogate them.”
“Well come up with another way, you can’t keep arresting the staff over minor issues and trying to force them into talking. We’ve been on their case for years and one thing you should know is they’re never snitching! No amount of pressure can make any of them snitch!” Captain grumbled and I exhaled, this was my problem exactly.
How I’d get the staff to start talking without making them overly suspicious. They have different types of staff and everyone knows the new ones are easy to sway but with their family to lose, none of them dared breathe a word about the dirty work going on.
I had noticed this for a long time about the Sinclair family. They were the most notorious and dangerous family in Florida with countless crimes in their heads, crimes ranging from drug trafficking, money laundering and numerous murder cases.
For every ten death cases or disappearance, at least 6 cases were linked to the Sinclair family.
A bunch of well trained men who knew how to clean their mess and they’ve been doing it for more than fifty years and Dante Sinclair who happened to be the new boss according to our sources was the same person who had murdered my parents, 9 years ago. Imagine walking into your house from the back door and you discover a man and his goons wrapping the body of your parents.
The memory was vivid and justice may be delayed but I’d stop at nothing until they were all convicted without hopes of ever getting out.
“They do all their dirty work in that damned bar, the hotel is where they put all the money but we need to know how they do it and with the slightest evidence, I’m sure we can get a warrant to go search everywhere and boom! We have them!” Captain explained like it was some easy job.
“They’re a bunch of lowlifes and to get them, we need to go very low. Disgusting as normal men who patronize the bar won’t cut it, I want a man inside that organization! I want to know about all their operations, how it is being carried out and when… I need to know all these things!” Captain paced around in rage and we just stared at the ground.
“I’m giving all of you just six months. Six months or you’ll all be replaced, whether you’ll get moved or fired, only your performance can tell, you’re dismissed— Rex and Aaron, stay back.” He muttered and I glanced at Aaron, wondering why he asked us to stay back.
The remaining detectives left and after a few seconds of silence, he walked to his seat, placed his hand on the shiny mahogany table. His office was slightly big and on the wall was a portrait of him.
“What’s the big plan?” He asked, staring at us intently and I exchanged glances with Aaron.
“N— Nothing sir.” I muttered and he shook his head.
“I know you two are up to something? You’ve not been at the office recently and I’m glad there’s a secrecy because we wouldn’t want what happened before to repeat itself.” He muttered and I nodded. A few months back, I had almost gotten a little dirt on those bastards but one of our men had ratted us out which led to the disappearance of my source who I presumed was dead.
“We want to join them, Rex and I are trying to get a job at the bar and from the bar, we’ll work our way to the top.” Aaron explained and the Captain smiled broadly.
“Join them?”
“Yes, this is a crazy idea but this is the only option available for now.”
“This is both dreadful and a great idea! How do you intend to get a job there? The Sinclair family are not one to be toyed with and if they ever discover that you’re detectives, they’ll have your head hanging at the top of the hotel.” Captain warned me and I shook my head, determined to do this.
“I’m still trying to get a job, it’s proving difficult but I’ll try to work something out.” Aaron explained and Captain nodded, turning to me.
I didn’t mind risking my life, as long as it brought them to book, I was willing to risk everything.
“I’ve gotten a job already, Captain… I am to resume tomorrow for the recruitment process.” I announced and his face lit up brightly with a mischievous smile.
“Great— I’ll clear your records as a detective so even if they scan for your details, they’ll never be able to find anything.” He suggested and I nodded.
“This is only the beginning, Dante Sinclair. An eye for an eye they say but to me, it’s a head for an eye.”

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
