Introduction
She is the exact opposite of Denver Roque Velasquez, The Falcon's message carrier. Denver always has that avaricious smirk when people see him, a daunt and debilitating aura surrounding him, and those dark glints of his gray orbs tell that he's not just an easy and outrageous, good-looking guy. Sharmienne knows that he's menacing and dangerous to her, yet she still falls in love despite her husband's unwanted treatment of her. She changed herself for him, but Denver only sees her as a stranger.
When pain overrides the love she has, will Sharmienne choose to change her imperative married life, or will she stay as the reclusive wife?
Chapter 1
“Bye, Dad! Bye, Sharmienne!”
I waved my hand to my older sister, Carmienne, before I went inside the passenger seat of my Dad's car. Today, he asked me to join him to attend a party of one of his colleagues in the business world. I don't know why I need to go with him, but since he doesn't take a 'No', I didn't have the choice to disagree.
My father and I will attend the birthday celebration of Velasquez's firstborn son. I am not a fan of celebration, but my father dragged me with him. Aside from the fact that he's not that young and he needs assistance, he also told me that I need to interact with people. I always look stiff and aloof. Only some know me too well.
“Talk to them, Sharmienne. You need to socialize, too. You're too young to always lock yourself inside your room.” My dad said as we were in the middle of the road. I just nodded as I focused my eyes on the buildings we're passing by. It's already late afternoon, and the sun is up. Its rays are touching my skin, which is very unusual for me.
I always wanted to stay at home. I want to read a book and not socialize with people. I seldom talk to them, even with my family. It just... I am not comfortable being surrounded by people. I am afraid that they're only staying with me because they need me. They will just use me for their gain.
That's why, growing up, I became more aloof. I become distant from people, especially my age. It will always take minutes for me to practice my social skills before I talk to them. Even a simple greeting makes me weak.
I am trying my best, but it feels like I've gotten worse than before. I am already 18 years old, yet I am still acting like this. Only people who are close to me know that I am like this. But they still accept me being who I am. And I am grateful to them.
We stopped in front of a modern, bluish-painted three-storey house. The gates opened and our car went in. The lights from the house are blinding my eyes. There's a double door as soon as we enter. It opened as the servers are waiting for us.
This celebration is grand. There were young men and women in their casual attire as we got inside. There's also a chandelier in the center of the ceiling. A long staircase joins the first and second floors. Tables were arranged parallel to each other, and beside the grand staircase is a mini stage, wherein there's an MC in front.
“I'll talk to my colleagues, Sharmienne,” my dad said as soon as I found a table.
A waiter abruptly served my food and a wine. I looked at my father first before I nodded, eventhough I'm hesitant. I'll be left alone here, but maybe it will be fine.
“Okay, Dad,” I muttered softly. He kissed my forehead before he got lost out of my sight.
I looked down at my food. I started to eat as I enjoyed myself watching the MC talking in front. He's hilarious. I keep on roaming my eyes to look for the celebrant when my eyes diverted to the man my father is talking with right now.
He has those gray eyes that captivated my sight. He's talking with my father as if they are close friends. The way he carries himself is so professional. He looks like he's still in his early 20s based on his physique.
He has Italian blood, based on his facial features. He has long eyebrows, pointed nose tips, protuded hawk eyes, his thin lips were shaped like a heart, his square-angled jaws, and his crew cut hairstyle fits him the most. He's indeed a demigod. He's almost perfect.
And his smile... It was jaw-dropping. The way he smirks at others shows how dominating he is. He has that avaricious smirk that makes my knees crumble upon seeing it.
I sighed as I saw him talk to women his age. Looks like a playboy. He keeps his smile while talking to them. I was just staring at him from where I am right now.
I sipped on the wine I had right now when I saw him walk towards me. He looks calm but with a stoic face, while his eyes are focused on me. Our eyes met. My heart started to beat faster, and I avoided his gaze.
He's not looking at me... He's not looking at me. I kept my head low until I felt him walk behind my seat.
I drank the wine fully. I wished it would calm my heart, but it didn't. It just worsens my heartbeat. I put the glass on the table and asked a waiter to refill my wine glass.
“Thank you,” I mumbled at the waiter.
He just smiled and left my table to serve the others. I roamed my eyes around, and I didn't see the Velasquez's firstborn son. He just passed by my table. I smiled sadly as I expected him to talk to me.
I was left alone here in my table while my father was talking to his colleagues. Few visitors are the same age as me, but I'm not familiar with them. I drank the wine until it finished.
“Hija.” I looked at my back when I heard my father's voice.
He's wearing a gray two-piece suit right now, which he seldom wears. This celebration might be really important for him to give this special treatment. The last time I saw him wear this kind of clothes was when he lost the ownership of our company three years ago.
“Dad.” I moved aside to give him space. He sat beside me and caressed my mid-length hair. “Are you done?” It already took him half an hour to talk to his colleagues, but here I am being impatient.
“Why?” he asked, brows furrowed. “You want to go home already?”
I bit my lips as my eyes diverted in front of me. I saw Velasquez's son again, who's on the mini stage and now making a speech for everyone who attended. “Yes, Dad.”
“Okay, let's go.” He stood up, and I followed. I clung to his arm, which made him chuckle. “You're still a baby, Sharmienne. You're already 18.”
“Dad...” He lowly chuckled, and we both walked to the Velasquez.
“We'll talk to the Velasquezes first, then we'll go home. Your mother is really in beast mode right now.” We chuckled at his statement. We just stopped when we saw the celebrant's parents on the door frame of their house.
“Mr. Golieza!”
The man, in his late fifties, called my father. I removed my arm from him, and they both shared a man-to-man hug. I then smiled at the woman; she must be Mrs. Velasquez.
“You're Sharmienne, right?” she smiled. I nodded as my eyes widened a bit. She looks like the celebrant. She looks sophisticated in her beige dress, yet her face looks nice. She's like in her early fifties. “Did you enjoy the party?”
“Y-yes ma'am.” I timidly smile at her. She nodded before her eyes focused on my back. She was looking at someone.
“Denver,” she called.
I stilled in my place when I felt someone else was at my back. I looked at Mrs. Velasquez, who's now smiling at me. I timidly smiled at her before I looked behind, and I almost stumbled upon seeing him this close.
It was the celebrant. He was too close to me that I almost fell. He already caught me. His hand was on my waist already as he stared at me. The way he hold me close to him makes me gasp. His gray orbs roamed around my face as if he were reading what I am thinking right now. I was holding his shoulders for support as I stared back at him.
He smiled. That smile was different from the one he showed everyone. It was only me who saw that before he leaned forward. He fixed my hair even with our awkward position.
I just heard someone fake a cough, which made me push him away. I stood up straight and looked down as I felt everyone's eyes on us, especially my father. I can hear Mrs. Velasquez chuckling beside me.
“You look good together.” I heard Mrs. Velasquez commented.
“Mom, I didn't celebrate my birthday just to be tied up with someone I barely know.”
My cheeks heated up as I heard his baritone voice. His words are true. He's so manly as he said that. Still, it felt like his voice was what I always wanted to hear.
I looked up to Denver only to see him looking back at me. His gray eyes have that glint as I stare closer at them. They're so beautiful and captivating. My cheeks blushed when he smiled at me. The usual smile he gave everyone.
“Happy birthday,” I mumbled.
“Thanks,” he simply uttered. He stared at me as I stepped back away from him. I looked at my father, and he nodded at me, which means that we need to leave.
“We'll go now, Mr. and Mrs. Velasquez. And to you, young man,” Dad said. I looked at the family Velasquez, and they smiled at me. When my eyes diverted to the celebrant, he was still staring at me.
I forced a smile. But then he walked towards me and leaned forward to kiss me on both cheeks.
He whispered something that made my knees wobble. “See you, young lady.”

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride
Yet Alexander made his decision clear to the world: “Evelyn is the only woman I will ever marry.”
Invisible To Her Bully
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
