Introduction
Chapter 1
The hospital bill felt like a weight in my pocket as I walked through the rain. Three hundred thousand dollars. The number kept spinning in my head, making me dizzy. Mom had maybe six months without the surgery. With it, she could have years.
I didn't have three hundred dollars, let alone three hundred thousand.
My phone buzzed. Another text from my landlord. Rent was two weeks late. I shoved the phone back in my purse and kept walking, my shoes soaked through, my cheap work blazer doing nothing against the cold.
The coffee shop where I worked part-time was warm at least. My manager, Rita, took one look at me and poured a cup of coffee without asking.
"You look like death, Emma," she said, not unkindly.
"Thanks," I muttered, wrapping my hands around the cup. "That's the look I was going for."
She wiped down the counter, her eyes soft with concern. "Your mom?"
I nodded. Couldn't trust my voice.
"Something will work out," Rita said. "It always does."
I wanted to believe her. But I'd been saying that for three months now, and things had only gotten worse. I worked three jobs - the coffee shop in the morning, data entry in the afternoon, and bartending at night. Every penny went to Mom's medical bills, and it still wasn't enough. It would never be enough.
The door chimed. I looked up out of habit.
A man walked in, and the air seemed to change. He was tall, maybe six-foot-two, with dark hair and a face that belonged on magazine covers. His suit probably cost more than my entire year's rent. He moved like he owned everything he touched, his eyes cold and sharp as glass.
Behind him came an older man, shorter, wearing glasses and carrying a leather briefcase. An assistant or lawyer, I guessed.
They sat at a corner booth. I grabbed my notepad and went over, forcing a smile.
"Good afternoon. What can I get you?"
The younger man looked at me. Really looked at me. His eyes were dark gray, storm-cloud colored, and there was something unsettling about the way he studied my face. Like he was memorizing every feature.
"Emma Carter?" he asked.
I froze. "How do you know my name?"
"Sit down," he said. Not a request.
"I'm working"
"I'll buy the entire coffee shop for the next hour if I have to. Sit down."
My heart hammered. This was insane. "Who are you?"
"My name is Adrian Wolfe. I have a business proposition for you."
The name clicked. Adrian Wolfe. The Adrian Wolfe. CEO of Wolfe Industries, one of the biggest tech companies in the country. Billionaire. And, if the tabloids were right, a widower. His wife had died in a car accident two years ago.
What could a man like that possibly want with me?
The older man gestured to the seat across from Adrian. "Please, Miss Carter. Five minutes of your time."
I glanced at Rita. She nodded, eyes wide, shooing me toward the booth. I sat down slowly, clutching my notepad like a shield.
"I'll be direct," Adrian said. His voice was cool, businesslike. "I need a wife. Temporary. Contract-based. One year."
I blinked. "I'm sorry, what?"
"My wife died two years ago. My daughter, Lily, is five years old. She needs a mother figure. More importantly, my late wife's family is contesting her will. They claim I'm unfit to raise Lily alone. If I remarry, they have no case."
"So... get married," I said slowly. "To someone you actually know."
"It needs to be convincing. A love story. Someone who looks like" He stopped. His jaw tightened. "Someone specific."
The way he'd stared at me earlier suddenly made sense. "I look like her. Your dead wife."
He didn't deny it. "Remarkably so. Same hair, same eyes, same facial structure. The resemblance is... useful."
Useful. He said it like I was a piece of furniture.
"This is crazy," I whispered.
"I'll pay you two million dollars," Adrian said.
The world tilted. "What?"
"Two million. One million upfront, one million at the end of the year when we divorce. You'll live in my house, act as Lily's stepmother, and appear with me at necessary social functions. All expenses paid. In return, you pretend to be my wife."
I couldn't breathe. Two million dollars. Mom's surgery. Rent. Bills. Everything. Gone. Solved.
"Why me?" I asked. "Just because I look like her?"
"You have no family except your mother. No boyfriend. No social media presence. You're drowning in debt. You're perfect because you're desperate and you have no ties that would complicate things."
The truth of it stung. "You investigated me."
"Of course." He slid a business card across the table. "Think about it. You have twenty-four hours. After that, I'll find someone else."
The older man placed a folder on the table. "The full contract terms. Read it carefully."
They stood. Adrian looked at me one more time, and something flickered in his eyes. Something dark and haunted.
"I know it's a lot to ask," he said quietly. "But I'm not a bad man, Miss Carter. I just need help saving my daughter. And you need help saving your mother. Think about it."
Then they were gone, the door chiming softly behind them.
I sat there, staring at the folder and the business card. Adrian Wolfe's private number was printed in simple black letters.
Rita appeared at my elbow. "What the hell was that?"
"I have no idea," I whispered.
But that was a lie. I knew exactly what it was. It was a lifeline. A dangerous, insane, impossible lifeline.
I picked up the folder with shaking hands. Inside was a contract, dense with legal terms. But the first page had a simple summary.
Contract Duration: One year
Compensation: $2,000,000
Responsibilities: Act as legal spouse and stepmother
Termination Clause: Divorce finalized after 12 months
Two million dollars.
My phone buzzed again. This time it was the hospital. I knew what they were calling about. Mom's treatment couldn't wait much longer.
I closed the folder and put it in my bag.
I only have 24 hours to make a decision.

His lips crashed into mine, hard, claiming, breath-stealing. When he finally pulled back, his voice was a rough whisper against my lips. “You could call me yours… because you are mine.”

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
I’d appreciate all your support, thank you so much!
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

From Substitute To Queen
Heartbroken, Sable discovered Darrell having sex with his ex in their bed, while secretly transferring hundreds of thousands to support that woman.
Even worse was overhearing Darrell laugh to his friends: "She's useful—obedient, doesn't cause trouble, handles housework, and I can fuck her whenever I need relief. She's basically a live-in maid with benefits." He made crude thrusting gestures, sending his friends into laughter.
In despair, Sable left, reclaimed her true identity, and married her childhood neighbor—Lycan King Caelan, nine years her senior and her fated mate. Now Darrell desperately tries to win her back. How will her revenge unfold?
From substitute to queen—her revenge has just begun!
Aphrodite and the Cursed Mate Bond
She finds truth.
Aphrodite is not human at all. She is a rare white wolf, descended from an ancient Direwolf bloodline long believed extinct. The ritual meant to sever her ties awakens her wolf instead and with it comes the scent of five mates bound to her by fate.
The Alpha twins who once scorned her now cannot stay away. A human hunter walks beside her and proves that strength is not born of fangs or dominance. A cursed Wolf King holds the key to her past and her father’s imprisonment. And watching from the shadows is one who was never meant to interfere at all.
As gods fall, packs fracture, and war reshapes the world, Aphrodite must decide what destiny truly means. Is it submission to fate or the courage to choose her own path.
Love does not come in one form. Neither does power.
In a world ruled by gods and wolves, Aphrodite will become something neither ever expected.
Not a queen.
But the axis upon which the world turns.
They'll Regret This
My fiancé didn't just dump me—he proposed to her that same night. My so-called family handed me bus fare and a one-way ticket to the countryside.
Perfect. Let them think they won.
They don't know who I really am. The anonymous genius surgeon who saves lives when elite hospitals give up. The legendary artist whose paintings sell for millions at auction. The undefeated shadow queen of the underground fighting circuit. And the true heiress to a fortune that makes theirs look like pocket change.
Now my ex-fiancé begs on his knees. My fake sister's jealousy is eating her alive. And that cold, arrogant CEO who once threw our engagement contract in my face? He's hunting me down like a man possessed, desperate for one more chance.
They threw me away like trash to upgrade their lives.
Joke's on them.
I was always the upgrade.
Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
Genevieve loses a bet she can’t afford to pay. In a compromise, she agrees to convince any man her opponent chooses to go home with her that night. What she doesn’t realize when her sister’s friend points out the brooding man sitting alone at the bar, is that man won’t be okay with just one night with her. No, Matteo Accardi, Don of one of the largest gangs in New York City doesn’t do one night stands. Not with her anyway.

The Alpha's Stripper Mate
"What?" It was out of my mouth before I could stop it. I did not wait for him to answer me, I walked toward him.
"Dance on my lap."
My head screamed at me to turn around and run. But my whole body responded to his command.
"Yes, Alpha," I pulled my dress over my body, it dropped over my head and fell to the ground behind me. I was left in nothing but my matching bra and thong. My hands covered my chest on reflex.
"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
"No touching."
