Introduction

"How old are you?"
"I am 18."
He chuckled. "Little wolf."
"What, how old are you?"
"I am 29."
she laughed. "Old wolf."
Callum had to admit it probably looked ridiculous. He was a big bad alpha being led around by a tiny she-wolf. She pulled him to the tree line and started to strip. He watched as she removed her clothes. Her body was designed perfectly. She was toned all over. Callum felt a strong urge to lick them. His pants were incredibly tight at this point.

Daisy had done the unthinkable, and because of the choices she made as a child, she was shunned by her pack. For the past eight years, it was just her. Until she turned sixteen and got her wolf Summer. When Daisy’s mate Callum comes to her pack, she feels the mate bond. But joining him will certainly put his pack in jeopardy.

Chapter 1

Daisy POV

I sat there watching people as I always do. I wondered what it be like to actually talk to someone. I mean, sure, I was spoken to. It was just 'do this and do that.' It was never anything more than the bare minimum. But that is what it is to be shunned. Life with no friends, no family, nothing. Just me by myself. Though I could have it worse. I wasn't bullied. I was never attacked. Not that anyone would survive my attack. I was my father's daughter, after all.

I sat there by myself, watching a group of girls conversing and laughing with each other. What would that be like, I thought. "You have me. I will talk to you," My wolf Summer said in my head. I was glad I had her. It was a relief when I turned 16. I was finally able to have a conversation with someone. "You are right. Who needs anyone else." I jokingly communicated with her.

I was blessed to have her. My pack had not been horrible to me. They never told me not to come around or anything. I attended school and trained with everyone else. The only difference is no one talked to me. They only said the bare minimum to relay what I needed to know. I lived in a small room in the packhouse. It wasn't all luxurious, but it wasn't in the dungeon or anything like that. I was glad I had a pack after what I had done.

I could have been forced to turn rogue or executed, but I was shown mercy. I was now just shunned by everyone. It had been lonely the first six years, but it had made a world of difference when Summer emerged. Our bond was extremely close. Probably because she is the only being that I have a connection with. If other people had this strong a connection to their wolf, I wouldn't know. I couldn't ask others about that. So maybe everyone was this close to their wolf. I had no idea. All I knew was Summer was the only real relationship I had, and I was grateful.

"When we find our mate, you will have someone to talk to." Summer said in a sing-song voice. When I first met her, that was all she would talk about. At first, I tried to dissuade her from looking for a mate. I had seen what a bond like that could do. I mean, look at my parents. It is why I was now shunned all because the bond had led them astray. But I watched people for years. Once I had a wolf, I had been less consumed by loneliness. I noticed that my thinking might be jaded. I mean, my parents were an example of an insufficient bond.

But when I looked around, I saw that many mated wolves were happy beyond belief. The Luna and Alpha were the perfect example. The love they shared was overflowing. You could just see it when they looked at each other. Summer and I came to an understanding. I would accept the mate bond right away if I ever found a mate. But she agreed to not drag me around looking for Mister Perfect. I was content with the resolution.

The bell rang, and I threw away my leftover food. I made my way through the halls, listening to everyone talking. I heard little snippets of their conversations here and there. Sometimes, I would hear some hot gossip that I would discuss at length with Summer. It was entertainment at this point to me. I had to find lots of ways to keep myself entertained. It is funny when you have no one, your life gets boring really fast.

I sat down to my calculus class. I was good at school. I would be the valedictorian of our class. Not that it mattered. Awards like that weren't that important in our community. And even if it was something that was praised. I would not be allowed to be celebrated in any way. I was only so good at school because studying seemed entertaining. Like I said, I got bored a lot, and homework and learning was just another thing to fill the void. The school carried on as it always did.

I finished school, decided to pop my headphones in my ear, and began walking back to the packhouse. It wasn't too bad of a walk, but I felt the Alpha in my head while listening to my playlist. He was not just connecting to me but the whole pack. "This Wednesday night, we are having a party. Blood Paw Pack will be here. We must show them hospitality. I don't need to remind you of who their Alpha is. Everyone who is over the age of 16 and is unmated is required to go. I expect everyone to be on their best behavior. The dress required is formal. That is all.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday."

"Maybe we will find a mate." I indulged Summer. "Yeah, maybe." I felt her jumping in my head in delight. I chuckled and resumed my walk home. I would need to see what I had in my closet that could be considered formal. I didn't have too much money. I had been paid to do some work around the packhouse. It wasn't much, but it gave me money to get things I wanted, like this fantastic tablet. I got to the packhouse and dropped my stuff in my room. Summer had wanted to go for a run, and I hardly ever denied her.

We got to the edge of the forest when I stripped down. Leaving my clothes in a neat pile on a big rock. I shifted without a care in the world. We took off and began to run around the woods, feeling free. It was just me and Summer; that was all I thought I needed.

"White wolf! Kill that monster!"
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
