Introduction

I am trapped, there is no other way to go back and I will never be free from the bonds of fate that have been written in the record of my life.

I'm a big fan of fantasy stories, but never thought they would feel real at this point. As he moved quickly toward me, gripped my arm tightly and pulled me into his warm embrace.

"I found you!"

"What?"

"What's your name?"

"Hah?"

"Your name?!"

"Seline."

"Seline,"he let go of the hug, then looked at me fixedly. His slightly dark brown irises suddenly turned silver in a matter of seconds, then my eyes widened perfectly when he finished his sentence.

"Now, you're mine Seline! Only Mine!"

His lips immediately covered mine suddenly...

For a moment I heard a whisper, "Your destiny has begun my daughter."

Chapter 1

She ran as fast as she could, clutching five file folders in her right hand and wearing office shoes that she had to take off to facilitate her escape.

"Excuse me..."

"Sorry..."

"Excuse me..."

She repeated these two words over and over again, breaking through the crowd of people passing by. It took her 16 minutes to run back and forth from where she was to the opposite building, her clothes and hair starting to wrinkle, and her breath becoming short.

Such a sight seemed to have become very common since 2 months ago, it all started because of her blonde hair that contrasted so well with her brown skin, her petite body that was only 155 cm tall and her charming dimples.

Her name is Alzeita Seline and she is only 21 years old. She had no one, did not know her parents, and grew up in an orphanage that has since been demolished. Seline was found in a box in front of the orphanage with only a piece of paper with her name on it.

Her life has never been easy since she started walking and talking well, the children at the orphanage shunned her, no one wanted to approach her or play with her. The caretakers of the orphanage didn't really like Selene's presence, she was branded as strange by all the residents of the orphanage because of the color of her hair and skin, no one wanted to adopt her as a child because of her physical appearance. Not only that, Seline's different nature and habits are the reason why people stay away from her, but what does it matter? Seline is still Seline, who loves her blond hair, who likes to laugh when she likes something, who loves almost all furry, mustachioed and four-legged creatures. Who will not be sad even if no one likes her presence. And most of all, her determination to graduate from college, get a job right away, and then leave the orphanage that raised her.

And her wish came true when she graduated with a bachelor's degree in three and a half years and immediately got a job in a well-known company. Two months had passed since she had been accepted, and two months had passed since she had left the orphanage, where it was discovered that she had been engaged in the buying and selling of children, so the orphanage building was demolished by the government. Now she lives in a modest rented house and works as one of the public relations staff.

But sometimes there are things in her life that don't change, even though we want to stay away from them. The strange looks and people's dislike for her. Seline sometimes doesn't understand, what has she done that people don't like her so much? not only the people in the orphanage, since she was in elementary school until she was in college, no one liked Seline's presence. Several people would approach her when they wanted something, and Seline would happily greet them, but as soon as they got what they wanted, they would retreat like an infectious disease that had to be avoided immediately.Luckily Seline was used to all that, she always told herself not to care too much about what people said about her, what could make her happy was herself, not Seline's business if many people didn't like her.

"Hoshh... Hoshh..."Seline's breath sounded so clear when she had returned to her cubicle. She had just run to the next building and returned in such a short time, all because of the five file folders she had just taken from the next building, a 30 story building where the residents were company officials and shareholders. The five folders are a copy of the company's anniversary plan, as well as the inauguration of the replacement of the company's new leadership.

Varcolac Group, with the V logo at the top of the company. One of the largest companies that controls 45 percent of the development of social and economic products in Indonesia. Seline is naturally proud because she has been accepted in this prestigious company, not just anyone can work in it, the selection is carried out strictly, regularly with a fairly long flow. Therefore, the slightest carelessness could jeopardize her position as a new employee.

Seline knew that what she had just experienced was not the result of her mistake, she was well aware that she was being played with by several employees who didn't like her presence. Her bad luck started when the head of the public relations department asked for the five folders to be divided and presented at this morning's meeting. The five folders somehow ended up in the next building, even though he had clearly placed the five folders where they should have been. She took Pak Priogi's outbursts of anger mercilessly, calling her careless and negligent of her duties and responsibilities.

Instead of sympathy, her colleagues laughed mockingly behind her. Seline could only bow her head and count in her heart, which was a way to be patient and strengthen her heart.

After apologizing for a mistake that wasn't really hers, she immediately took off her shoes and ran as fast as she could to the nearest building. Why should she run? Because the five files were on the 22nd floor, and even worse, she had to use Mr. Priogy's emergency staircase to punish herself.

Drink fRika," her cubicle neighbor offered her a bottle of water. The only person who had spoken to her since she started working for the Varcolac Group was a bespectacled woman with black hair that was always pulled back.

"Thank you, ma'am," she said, gulping down the contents of the bottle until there was nothing left.

"The meeting starts in ten minutes," Rika said.

"The meeting?"Rika nodded.

"Huh... I thought after the volcano explosion earlier, the meeting would not continue."

Rika's forehead wrinkled, "Volcano explosion?"

"Mr. Priogy shot his volcano at me earlier, hehehe..." she said with a grin.

Rika couldn't help but chuckle. "You don't know Sel, Mr. Priogy will still carry out his plan even if he's already angry and unclear like before."

"He's not clearly angry ma'am, he's really angry because those five folders..."Seline patted the pile of folders on her desk, "were walking to the next building,"she joked.

"Do they have legs?"Rika shook her head, wondering why this cute girl was so disliked by so many people.First, Cell.""Maybe, the proof is that the folder I put neatly in the locker can also be in the next building, on the 22nd floor."

Rika shook her head worriedly.

"Why don't you just tell me that someone else bullied you?"

Seline waved her hand as if she didn't care about her fate this morning, "I don't have any proof, Mr. Priogy won't believe it. There are many of them, I'm alone. How can I defend myself? Leave it, ma'am, count the morning exercises."

"Morning exercises are quite tedious, look at your clothes and hair, so messy..." Rika started to get up and nudged Seline's arm.

"Come with me ma'am, let's tidy you up. This is your first meeting, ma'am. I've heard enough of Mr. Priogy spitting up his volcano for a mistake that wasn't his fault. Seline just sighed, then put her shoes back on and followed Rika. Several pairs of eyes passed her, staring at her with a mocking, strange smile and a disapproving pout. But what does it matter? Seline won't be affected because they won't be in Seline's life forever.

She will just live her life as usual, trying her best to stay afloat in this prestigious company. And maybe... Find someone who needs those ribs. Not that simple, is it?

"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."

When my parents forced me to donate my organs to my sister, I didn't refuse or run away. I just quietly signed the surgical consent forms, willingly giving my kidney to Vivienne, their beloved daughter.

A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.

When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.

When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.

My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.

Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."

But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.

Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
