Introduction
"Now, back to business," my father, Germaine, told me sharply. "I wanted you to know that you will attend a ceremony tomorrow. Where you will take Damien by the hand. Then, he will finally make you...”
“Mine,” Damien said as he walked up to the table at the restaurant.
"But? He's my step-brother. You can't be serious! Father, please?!" I said, leaning over the table.
"You're going to marry Damien Black, the man whom I promised you nearly a decade ago," he said, raising his hands to the side, emphasizing the surprising news he had just sprung on me.
"Welcome, my son," Germaine said as Damien placed his hand on his shoulder. He was adopted. My father reached out his hand for me to stand when he added, "Tomorrow, you both shall be wed, and your glorious lives will begin!"
I stood there in shock. How can he ask this of me? Telling me I am going to get married with no time to plan. Tomorrow! My wedding is tomorrow! Was this really happening to me?
Chapter 1
Nadine Black's POV:
My name is Nadine Black. When I go places, most people don't like that. Fine. Be a bitch. But that's because they don't really know me. If I were to tell my story, would they really even care? I don't care what they think about me, I am going to anyway, cause that is who I am. But, the question is, how should I start?! First, to say my life is anything but chaotic would be a lie from the deepest and darkest depths of all things known evil.
However, you all must take note that I am at the mere age of 26. Knowing that, for the past 10 years of my life, I have been used to any extreme by the one who will soon take my hand in marriage. If that doesn't sound wicked, then this might help. I had a shudder run down my spine at how I recalled a horrific memory, how each one of the holes my body has to offer has been violated in the crudest manner known to any man. That is how I know things about how to please a man, but only by force.
I know what you are thinking. Why would you care to know my story, am I right? In fact, I could go into more detail about the life I don't get to live. Do you know what that is? No guess? A free one. That is what I want. All I want to do is live free, free from the worries of how to live the next hour of my life. Other than worrying about how it will go, without my brother or my father telling me how I am going to live my life.
Let me see, where can I start? Oh, yeah, it will go like this. The climax in my chaos spiraled out of control just the other day. That was when I saw something I wish I could take back. That is what started this new line of life, one that could not get here fast enough. One person thought they would change the course of their life's events by leaving all that they have come to know. Who is that, you might ask? None other than my brother's wife, Kelly Anne.
Are you interested now?! Before I tell you what happened, I will take you back a few more years to when my life turned into a living hell. We can call it taking a walk down memory lane, for all intents and purposes. This whole thing for me started around 10 years ago. I think that will work for a starting timeline. That being said, when I turned 16, my father, Germaine Black, told me I was going to get married when the time was right.
I later thought this man to be the worst man alive. His name, you might wonder? None other than the one and only, famed Damian Black. My father, Germaine, adopted him when his mother was killed during a raid one night. My father even changed his last name so he could inherit the family business when he got to the age where he wanted to retire.
That's all fine and dandy, but back to me, and what's going on in my life? Why marry my step-brother, you might ask, right? It's not by my choice, I assure you! The reason is not what you might think, either. It's all because my father thought we would be a good match by being together. After he changed Damian's last name, he even made up this elusive story just to make it sound legit if it was ever questioned. Like, who would have the gall to do that, knowing who my father was?
All of this was done so that Damian could take over the 'family business' when my father retired. Not that the business my father ran was family-oriented in any slight or peaceful nature. It may have involved family, but it was not traditional. This was all done for a specific reason. That being said, my father didn't want to trust having my lousy brother run things, who was my father's one and true heir, if you could even call him that. If you think that's bad, you don't even know the other half of it yet!
The more I think about it, the more I have come to realize that there are no good things that turn up in life. Well, not in the way the real world works anyway. The real world is far too messy to be wanted by anyone who cares about anything. For example, when you get in an automobile accident, it really hurts, as I have personal experience with this, several times in fact. When Damian and I got into an argument one time, he got fed up and decided to throw me from the open door of a moving vehicle. Can you believe that?
Yes, he literally opened the door, holding it open with his foot, and threw me out as he had the driver take a turn, so force was working with him. In stories, you might magically get up and walk away, as if you are reading something from a random fairy tale. Pause break. I love reading stories like that. It gives me the only escape I can get from all the horrors of my everyday life, by the way.
Now, back to my details. This was my life up to this point. But all of this started about four days ago. It was a blustery, hot, sunny Friday afternoon. My father called me on the phone and told me to run an errand for my brother. It went like this: My phone rang, and I looked at the screen to see 'Your Father' flash over the screen. I cringed when I answered the phone.
"Nadine? I know you can hear me," my father, Germaine, said forcefully. "You are going to run an errand for Shane since he can't do this one himself." I remained silent, as my father didn't like it when I interrupted him. "He has some pending charges you are going to take care of. Andrew is on his way over to collect you. You will pay these off at the local courthouse. Do you understand?"
"Why do I have to do it?" I complained in return. "Why not just get one of your other lackeys to do it for you?"
"You are going to do it as I told you," he yelled at me. "Is that quite understood?!"

Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

The CEO Above My Desk
“I know she does.”
“And what if she doesn’t want this kind of protection?”
“She will,” I say, my voice lowering slightly. “Because she needs a man who can give her the world.”
“And if the world burns?”
My hand tightens subtly at Violet’s waist.
“Then I’ll build her a new one,” I reply. “Even if I have to burn the old one down myself.”
