Chapter 7 you my mate

I woke up the next morning to see a shadow looming over me, observing my sleeping frame.

"That's not creepy at all." I murmured to myself as soon as I recognised the person as the sister to my second chance mate. I pushed myself up from the ground and rested my weight on my elbows, waiting for her to say what she came there for, but she kept quiet.

"Do you stare at all your brother's girlfriends like a psychopath stalker too?" I asked her rudely.

"Why are you sleeping on the floor?" She asked me ignoring my earlier question. I glanced at the narrow bed behind her, the same one I hadn’t dared to touch last night. My back ached from the hard boards beneath me, but I shrugged.

She put her hand forward to help me stand up but I just stared at it.

"Cause I can and it reminds me where I belong." I sharply replied while standing up on my own, ignoring her hand that was still dangling in the air.

"But you don't deserve to sleep on the floor, you should only get the best." She said  and I rolled my eyes. Something about her tone made my stomach twist.

“I meant,” I said coolly, standing up on my own, “that I belong to the wilderness. It’s the natural way of living grounded to the earth. Not these walls and silk sheets.”

She let her hand fall back to her side, studying me. For a moment, neither of us spoke.

Then came the knock.

It was firm, authoritative, three sharp raps that made both of us turn toward the door.

Before I could respond, the door opened.

"The Alpha wants to see her", Beta Henry spoke as soon as he entered in the room.

A strange tension filled the room. Kael’s sister turned toward him with a raised brow. “Now? It’s barely dawn.”

"Its urgent", Beta Henry spoke and I felt my heart pump blood immediately but still, I straightened my spine and nodded, forcing calm into my voice. “Then let’s not keep him waiting.”

Kael’s sister gave me one last lingering look, something like concern, though it was gone before I could be sure. “Be careful with your words,” she murmured quietly, almost too low to hear. “My brother isn’t a man who forgives easily.”

I met her gaze, my lips curling into a wry smile. “Neither am I.”

With that, I walked past her and the guards gripped my hands. I didn’t fight as the guards dragged me to the Alpha’s office like a doll.

Walking through the pack house in the early morning was a bad experience. People were staring at me, pointing and whispering, glaring and sharing the story of what I did to their Luna. I growled at the ones who looked around my age to make them look anywhere and my annoyed face worked like a charm. They tried with great enthusiasm to get away from the rabid wolf.

"Just ignore them." Beta Henry whispered into my ears. "They are nice people, but they do enjoy gossiping."

"I wonder if they'll enjoy gossiping so much if they face my wolf." I mumbled.

"Your violent personality shocks me my Luna." Henry grinned, awfully at ease at the thought of me harming his pack members. I didn’t know whether he was calling me Luna to humiliate me but he looked friendly.

"You don't seem worried, don't think I'll do it?" I narrowed my eyes, teasing.

"That's not it my Luna, you seem highly capable, but you are clearly joking, aren't you?" He asked cautiously.

"Of course I am Henry." I spoke then I sent another glare towards a young couple who was looking at me.

I had no fear in me not until when we reached the Alpha's office. My wolf was already getting excited.

Beta Henry knocked and we entered inside the office. But the first thing my eyes shockingly fall on was the dead body.

Dead body of a man in the Alpha’s office. That i’mmediately made my mouth to fall open.

It was probably swift, the man’s death and no one even dared to bat an eye at what Alpha did. Instead, guards turned their heads down and two of them stopped holding my hands then, picked up the body and took it out of the office. He was surely more ruthless than Alpha Xavier.

“She is here Alpha”, Beta Henry spoke the moment, the dead body was taken and had the place cleaned.

Alpha Kael turned and his gorgeous ocean blue eyes met mine and my whole world stilled instantly. The mate bond was pulling me.

I froze and the only thing that could be heard was my stupid heart beating a million times a minute. I had no idea what to do or what to say, but I knew what was happening right now.

He also realised it because out of the blue his gorgeous blue eyes turned dark then he started to fume with anger.

“Let her go and leave”, He snapped at the guards and the beta.

As soon as they walked out, he approached me i’mmediately but with his jaws clenched with anger.

Heart racing, I turned my head away in fear of what was going to come next. Anger and power was oozing off of him

“Look at me”, His voice was feral. I didn’t do it immediately but I regretted it later. He angrily grabbed my face, smearing the blood of the man he had killed all over my cheeks.

The smell of blood reached up-to my nostrils and a sickening feeling rose in my chest. I turned, meeting with his glare as the blood from his hand smeared around my jaw. My stomach went tight in knots. I stood still, fear running through my blood.

“You know the pack’s rules and guidelines, why did you decide to disrespect and fight my luna”, He asked.

“Why did she disrespect me too?, Why did she call me a slut?”, Before l could stop myself, words were already out of my mouth..

My response didn’t please him at all.

Darkness blanketed his staring eyes before he took a small step away from me.

“I can’t be mated to a person like you. You have got a smart mouth, but I’m going to make you suffer till you regret the day you were born”, He hissed out.

“Suffering?! Do you mean rejecting me just like my first mate”, My sassy mouth couldn’t stop.

He was kinda shocked by my question and confidence but he stared straight through my eyes.

“Reject you? That’s an easy escape, don’t you think?” his voice was as cold as his eyes, as his heart. “The moon goddess gave me you and I’ll simply pay her for her kindness.” His tone was laced with venom, hatred and disgust. “She decided to give you a second chance mate as me,

thinking that I will also accept an Omega as my mate, but she is damned wrong.”

My breath hitched, but I held my ground. “So what then?” I whispered, forcing steadiness into my shaking voice.

"I'm going to mark you as my mate",
