Chapter 1
“You can't get pregnant.”
The doctor's words hang in the air as I sit in the room.
And it makes me feel dead.
Even more so than usual.
Like I have just been punched in the gut as I remain seated, trying to process the words, to make sense of them.
But my voice is frozen.
Recently, I clearly felt a new life growing inside me. My body is ready to nurture him. Every night, I dream of what my baby will look like as he grows, and every day, I prepare for his future. I am so certain that I am about to become a mother.
I try to speak, to ask more questions.
“Could it be a misdiagnosis? Don’t you need more tests, or could you provide me with a pregnancy test?”
I have nothing to confirm my pregnancy or ensure the health of the fetus, not even a pregnancy test. I am the most despised one in the entire pack. No parents, no assets, no wolf, and no one to stand up for me when I’m bullied, except for my Mate. We’ve been waiting for this child for a long time, and finally, there’s hope. It gave me the courage to come to this hospital, which usually just ignores me.
"A misdiagnosis? You're doubting me, the doctor from the whole pack, and you didn’t even finish high school?"
The doctor glanced at me with disdain.
"At least check again, you haven’t done any tests yet," I insisted.
“No need. Wolves can tell right away if there’s an unborn pup growing. Why don’t you ask your husband?” The doctor gave a strange smile and walked over to stand in front of me. “Unless, you didn’t come here for that at all?
"What are you saying?" I instinctively stepped back a little. His expression looked familiar, a twisted mix of excitement and disdain. Ever since my father was executed, I’ve often seen this kind of look from others, usually meaning mockery, a beating, or both.
The doctor bears an expressionless face as he snaps his bag shut.
“There’s nothing more to discuss,” he says coldly, already halfway to the door.
“Wait!” I stand abruptly, my chair screeching against the floor. “There has to be a way—another test, a second opinion. You haven’t even examined me properly!”
He pauses, glancing back with a sneer. “Do you think you’re someone who can demand more of my time? Someone like you—no wolf, no rank, and certainly no future—should consider herself lucky I saw you at all.”
His words hit like a slap, sharp and calculated, but I refuse to back down.
“My Mate and I have been waiting for this child,” I press, my voice cracking. “Please, just check again.”
A flicker of something crosses his face—annoyance, perhaps, or pity. It’s gone before I can decipher it.
“Your Mate?” he repeats, his tone dripping with disdain. “You’re certain he’s the father?”
I freeze, his insinuation hanging heavy in the air.
“What?” I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
He steps closer, his eyes narrowing. “There’s no pup,” he says slowly, as though savoring the words. “And if there ever was, maybe your Mate isn’t as loyal as you think.”
A chill runs through me, and for a moment, I forget how to breathe. Is this his diagnosis, or something more insidious?
“What are you saying?” I demand, trying to keep my voice steady.
“I’m saying,” he drawls, leaning against his desk, “that someone like you isn’t fit to bring life into this world. But perhaps… there’s a way to change that.”
The shift in his tone makes my stomach turn. His gaze sweeps over me, slow and deliberate, leaving no doubt as to what he means.
“No,” I say firmly, stepping back.
He chuckles darkly, as though my resistance is amusing. “You need this, don’t you? A child would change everything for you—a chance to reclaim your worth in the pack, to keep your Mate by your side. All I ask is a little… cooperation.”
“You’re disgusting,” I snap, my voice shaking with fury and disbelief.
“Think it over,” he says, his smirk widening. “Or don’t. It’s not like anyone else will help you.”
I lunge for the door, my heart pounding as I grip the handle, desperate to escape. But before I can pull it open, he blocks my path, his hand slamming against the wood.
“You’re not leaving,” he growls, his earlier facade of civility slipping away entirely.
Panic sets in as I feel his presence loom behind me, his breath hot against my neck. I whirl around, my instincts screaming at me to fight, but he’s faster. He grabs my wrist, his grip like iron, and forces me back toward the chair.
“Let me go!” I shout, thrashing against him, but it only seems to fuel his determination.
The room spins as we struggle, my body trembling with equal parts rage and terror. I can feel his strength overpowering me, his intentions clear.
And then the door bursts open.
The sound is deafening, like a gunshot in the suffocating silence, and I whip my head toward the figure standing in the doorway.
“Well, well,” Nadira’s voice rings out, sickly sweet and full of malice. “Looks like I arrived just in time.”
I turn around, instantly on guard.
“He tried to force—” I begin.
“He?” she stops me. “Oh, I don’t think so.”
"What are you doing?” She screamed in panic, drawing more people towards us, while smiling as she faced me.
“The doctor is already married, my sis, you can't do this!"
Her voice booms, attracting attention.
What is she talking about?
That I’d do this willingly?
“What are you talking about?” I inquire. “You just saw us… He tried to rape me.”
“No. That’s not what I think. I think you’re trying to get with a married man, Ayla. A married man,” she says, emphasizing her last words.
The doctor remains mute, a satisfied expression settling on his face.
Familiar faces begin peering into the room and I realize what is happening.
This is what Nadira wants.
Attention.
Again.
She’s just about to spread many lies against me, and this wouldn’t be any exception.
I head for the door, not wanting things to escalate.
“I’m not doing this,” I mumble.
As I quickly walk past her to the door, I am stopped by stern-looking faces.
Her minions. About four or five of them—I can’t count.
They don’t seem much in support of me leaving the room.
I let out a groan.
Just then, I hear a baby sound as someone squeezes through them.
Sarah, the doctor's mate.

On Christmas Eve, I aborted the CEO's child
On Christmas Eve night, my husband brought his mistress home and demanded that I, his pregnant wife, leave with nothing.
On this day, I lost my husband and also lost the child in my womb...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

Can they both work on letting go of the past and moving forward together or will fate have different plans and keep them apart?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
