Introduction

“Maverick, you never loved me all these years, did you?”

“Be good. You're just a substitute.”

___

Never did Valencia expect that what her crush thought of her was a substitute for another woman.

And never did she expect that the asshole would break the news to her after she gave herself to him a night before their wedding.

Unable to take in the heartbreak, Valencia fled on her wedding day.

Fast-forward to five years later; Valencia is now the anonymous owner of a company and the diligent mother of smart-ass quadruplets who think mom is the best and shouldn't be stressed.

And the most important thing: Mom needs a capable boyfriend.

Someone dared to attack their mommy? Mom will face-slap, and if Mom can't, Quadruplet will!

A certain shameless man: ‘Darling, relax; I'll properly beat them up for you. After the beating, what do you think we should have next—a triplet or a sextuplet?’

Valencia: “….”

Smartass quadruplets: Didn't you consider Mom to be a substitute? Scram. We don't recognize you!

Chapter 1

"Mmmm. Maverick, slow down, okay? Ah. Maverick. Tomorrow is the wedding; you can't do much, or else I can't walk properly tomorrow." Valencia cried out alluringly as Maverick thrust into her repeatedly—his actions fierce and intense with every thrust he made.

Valencia's lips parted in an enticing gasp; her smooth and beautiful slender long legs wrapped tightly around Maverick's waist perfectly, and her hand hooked around Maverick's neck.

A bead of sweat was on her naked skin, and the hickeys made by Maverick made a beautiful contrast on her pale collarbone, neck, and chest.

"En." Maverick simply replied in a husky and deep voice that made Valencia's face flush seductively.

The cute woman's seductive expression was enough to make Maverick's desire for Valencia increase.

Maverick's eyes darkened; it felt as if he couldn't have enough of this woman; even though they had been doing it for over an hour, he still felt thirsty!

Maverick grabbed the moaning Valencia's chin and placed a deep kiss on her lips—his actions domineering, almost making Valencia run out of breath.

It was when Maverick noticed that Valencia was about to go out of breath that he stopped nibbling on her pink lips and instead moved to her pink nipples.

Valencia's voice continued to moan lewdly, and it was deep in the night that her loud moans slowly ceased.

.....

Under the blanket, the naked Valencia smiled sweetly, her hand hooked around Maverick's strong waist. Her face glistened with sweat, and her pale skin was filled with the hickeys left by Maverick. Her hands and feet were soft, reminding her of the passionate lovemaking Maverick, and she had just gone through.

Valencia's right hand shifted to Maverick's face, his black eyes half-lidded, yet watching the every woman's move.

His strong hand wrapped around her waist, drawing her closer to him. Seeing the woman's foolish smile, he asked in a deep, hoarse voice. "What's it?"

"I'm happy." Valencia simply replied in a melodious tone, inhaling the man's musky masculine scent coupled with the faint scent of tobacco and cigarettes.

Valencia never expected that someone with a bad reputation like her would accomplish her dream of having the number one eligible bachelor in the whole country as her husband—but she had!

Finally, Valencia had done the most important thing, which was boldly giving herself to Maverick a night before her wedding. And now that Valencia and Maverick have done the deed, they've become one, and what's left is tomorrow's occasion.

Valencia smiled stupidly, feeling that everything ensuing was a dream, and if it was, she didn't want to wake up.

Valencia smiled sweetly and began to recall the past.

The first time Valencia saw Maverick was when she was 10 years old. Valencia had just lost her mother, and her father had just brought in a new stepmother and daughter who made her life miserable.

The young Valencia was sitting in front of the TV, bawling her eyes out after facing schemes from her stepmother, when the young boy's pleasant voice drifted into her ears.

'All children are treasures, irrespective of their status. Even if they're orphans or not, they're all treasures and should be protected at all costs.'

Maverick said this during the speech after he won the Youngest Genius Award, breaking worldwide records.

That time, the 12-year-old youth stood tall, the sun shining on his handsome outline, giving him an outstanding halo.

That time, the brooding Valencia felt her low mood disappear, and she proudly pointed to the television and announced, 'that person belonged to me'.

That person had sounded so soft and sincere, making little Valencia believe he'd treat his wife and children well, unlike her scum father, who had maltreated her mother until her passing away.

Now that girl has turned 20 and that boy has become her lover; the most important thing is that tomorrow will be the day Maverick and Valencia will be married. They will forever be joined for life, and soon they'll be making their own cute and sensible kids and having their own family. Valencia swore to build a loving family and never make any of her children go through any situation that would cause them grievances.

The more Valencia remembered everything, the more a silly smile blossomed on her face, making her face more enchanting that night. She wrapped her hand around Maverick's waist happily and stretched her neck in a bid to kiss his lips.

Although Maverick had been so intense for her first time, which made her body sore, she still felt happy.

Valencia felt that her life was on track. She's marrying her crush, who loves and pampers her the most, and she'll soon be the number one woman everyone envies; what more does she want?

"I'm happy. Rick, are you happy?" Valencia tilted her neck and stared at Maverick's impeccable features. No matter how she stares at the peerless, handsome face, she can never get enough!

Maverick was quiet as he stared at her with indecipherable emotions. He suddenly sat up, which made Valencia stare at him in curiosity, but before she could say anything, he turned away from her.

Before Valencia could blink, Maverick turned on the lamp.

Valencia lowered her head and blushed shyly, sneaking a look at Maverick's perfectly made naked figure, which can topple the world and put models to shame.

Valencia's voice was enticingly soft and tiny, stroking hearts and giving one the urge to worship. "Maverick, what are you doing? Do you want to go for another round under the..."

"Go through it. If the condition is okay with you, sign it. If it's not, we'll negotiate the contract." Maverick suddenly interrupted, his voice cold and chilling to the bone, as if he were talking to a business partner. Completing his words, he threw a document toward her.

Huh? Valencia's brows knitted into a frown at his sudden coldness. She sat up—wincing immediately she did—making her blush. "Rick, what do you mean? What's this?" Valencia inquired in a soft, curious voice, but before Maverick could reply, a thought surfaced in her mind, making her smile.

Valencia wrapped her hand around his arm and laid her head on his chest with a foolish smile.

Valencia is a lover of web novels, and according to the script, this should be the time Maverick planned to put Valencia in charge of his properties. Valencia lowered her head; she never expected Maverick to be such a romantic man. "Is this your dowry to..."

"Wedding contract." Maverick simply replied coldly and threw off her hand. His expression was detached and cold, unlike the heated and intense expression on his face a few minutes earlier. This time, his face was cold, as if he were meeting an enemy and doing a business meeting.

Huh, wedding contract? Valencia's back straightened, and she sat up properly; pain shooting down her back made her hiss. "Rick. What do you mean by wedding contract?" Although Valencia wanted to make her voice calm, it ended up shaking.

Valencia suddenly felt uneasy upon seeing that cold and distant look on Maverick's face.

That distant look that had always appeared on Maverick's face once in a while always made Valencia feel as if she didn't know him at all, and he was more distant than the person she's been dating since two years ago.

Valencia bit her lower lips upon seeing that he didn't answer her questions, so she quietly began to go through the document Maverick had just thrown at her.

Reading the first page made Valencia's eyes widen in shock; her face paled immediately, and her body shook in disbelief. Tears pooled in her eyes, but she forced herself to go through the blatant torture of reading. Reading through every word, and her mind repeating it despite the repeated stab to her heart.

By the time Valencia finished reading the documents, her strength had vanished, and all the joy she had a few minutes ago had dissipated without a trace.

"White wolf! Kill that monster!"
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
