DATING THE SCHOOL'S JERK; MATED TO THE SON OF AN ALPHA KING
Faith Exia · Ongoing · 38.0k Words
Introduction
My heart fluttered as he turned to look at me.
I quickly looked away and bowed my head. “Come on, Sophie, you have a girlfriend,” I whispered to myself.
Sophie is the girlfriend of the school's hottest boy, Chase Davenport. She knows he is only using her to get good grades, but she is so in love she looks past it. Soon a new student comes into the picture. He is the son of a very powerful alpha king. They mate the moment they touch.
While on a quest to break the bond, they slowly begin to fall for each other.
Chapter 1
Sophie’s POV
He was using me.
I knew it.
But I let him.
“How many more minutes before you are done?” Chase leaned against the door frame of the classroom, dressed in his school uniform. His blonde hair was messy at the top as he had raked his fingers through it countless times.
“Three minutes,” I responded, my brows knitted together as I wrote in his math notebook.
He groaned and moved to sit beside me. I didn't look up at all, but I could feel his eyes burning into mine as he waited impatiently.
Chase Davenport.
That's his name.
He was the captain of the school's hockey team, the hottest boy in school, and all the girls had a big crush on him.
I mean, who wouldn't?
Just look at him.
And the most unbelievable thing about it all?
I'm his girlfriend.
Me.
A pathetic she-wolf with no inner wolf.
At least that was what the girls at school called me.
Unlike my peers, I wasn't strong, I didn't have claws, I didn't have a unique sense of smell. I was just… normal.
Over here, normal wasn't good.
That was because SilverClaw Academy was a school for the rich. Any student here came from a long line of wealth and power, and Chase's family was the most influential.
I, on the other hand, was the daughter of a mere maid. I had only managed to get into SilverClaw because of my good grades.
How ironic. I was both at the top and bottom of the school.
“How many more minutes?” he asked again, this time with a strained voice.
I sighed. “One, Chase. Just one.”
I was doing his math homework just like I did every morning. Chase was not a very bright student. All he thought about was hockey. The school authority had threatened to hold him back a year if he kept failing.
So he made a deal with me: he would give me a chance to date him...an opportunity of a lifetime...and I would do all his homework for free.
I wasn't stupid enough to say no.
I immediately accepted and became his slave, doing all of his school work. But it didn't matter because we were together.
The girls who once bullied me were now jealous of me.
They hated me even more, but it didn't matter, because I had Chase.
What I had with Chase felt real.
“Done,” I said and quickly handed his homework to him. He leaned back in his seat and grabbed the book as he scanned it with his eyes.
I had studied his handwriting so well that I could now write with it, and the teachers wouldn't know. It was perfect.
He slid the book into his bag. “We have hockey practice during lunch,” he stood and looked at me, “We are having tryouts for our new member.”
I stood up to face him.
The new semester had started two months ago with a complete hockey team, but just last week one of the members, Brandon, had to move away with his family, and tryouts were today.
All the boys in school who could play hockey were anticipating the tryouts.
“Be there,” he instructed and walked out of class before I could respond.
I sucked in a deep breath. I was always required to be at his games. At the end of every game I would clean the hockey sticks of every member of the team, clean the blades of their shoes, and take them to the locker room.
I was basically their assistant for free.
But I was doing it for Chase, so it didn't matter.
Classes passed by like they did every other day. I would stare at Chase from across the class and he would act like I didn't exist.
Sometimes I would catch him flirting with the other girls.
But I knew he would never hurt me.
“Being my girlfriend is a privilege. It doesn't matter how many other girls I date,” he would say when I complained. “Our relationship is just a deal, Sophie,” he would add.
And he wasn't wrong.
A nobody like me had his attention. That was something all the girls dreamed of. Even when they got it, it never lasted long.
Chase was known for being a playboy. He would date a girl for only two weeks and get bored, moving to the next.
But we had been together for two whole months. Deal or not, that meant something, right?
I put my hand against my lap as I listened to the teacher rant about math.
Soon the bell rang and all the students stood from their seats to head to our next class.
“Mrs. Weathers?” the teacher's voice halted me.
I turned to face her and blinked. “Yes?”
She gestured to me. With a puzzled look on my face, I drew closer to her. I had never been called by a teacher when it wasn't during class to answer a question. Why had she called on me?
“Yes, ma'am?”
She adjusted her dress. Now that the class was empty, I could hear the sound of her heels clicking hard against the floor. “There's a new student in school,” she announced.
I squinted. “In our class?”
She nodded.
“But… I didn't see anybody.”
Her grey eyes blinked as she smiled. “He arrived a few minutes ago and is in the school principal's office. We need one of the students to give him a tour of the building, and since you are our top student…”
I sighed and nodded. “Of course, Ms. Middleman.”
She handed me an envelope. “These are his results from his old school… well, a copy of it.”
I wondered why she was showing it to me, but I accepted it either way.
“It's also a list of the subjects he's failing and the term's syllabus. We were hoping you would tutor him since you are at the top of the class.”
I looked up at her. “Tutor?”
She nodded. “It's good for your college application. It will boost your resume. The school has offered to help you apply for a scholarship with one of the best colleges if he passes. We would have added it to your grades but…” she clicked her tongue, “you already get straight A's.”
I gripped the envelope tightly. I would do anything to secure a spot in college.
“I'll do it,” I agreed.
She sighed with relief. “Thank God. His parents really want him to play hockey this year. If his grades are bad, he cannot get in.”
The new student would be part of the boys trying out for hockey?
“Of course, ma'am. After chemistry class…”
“Oh no, dear, we cannot keep him waiting. He's in the principal's office. Go to him now.” She grabbed my shoulder and pushed me toward the door.
I adjusted my blonde hair and headed for the principal's office. As I walked, I reached into the envelope and brought out a file.
The name Dante Rodriguez was printed on the file.
The name sounded familiar, especially the surname. “Rodriguez,” I mumbled.
Soon I reached the principal's office. As I reached for the door knob, the door suddenly flung open and a boy stood before me.
He was already dressed in our school's uniform with a fur coat over it. You could tell he was rich. He had black hair and grey eyes. My eyes scanned him and I noticed his clenched fists.
I gulped and took a step back. His presence was intimidating. I could feel sweat building up in my palms.
“Are you… Dante Rodriguez?” I asked in a low tone, even though I was sure it was him.
He shot me a dirty look before he responded, “Yes.” His response was short. His voice was so deep it sounded like it vibrated through his chest.
“I'm Sophie,” I stretched my hand out to him. “I'll be your guide.”
He raked his fingers through his hair before he rested it against mine.
Instantly I felt a warm feeling within me. It was gentle, but at the same time intense, as if something was pulling me toward him.
I quickly moved my hand away from his and wiped it against my skirt. “What is that?” I mumbled.
It was like nothing I had ever felt.
“You…” I heard his voice strain.
My eyes snapped up. “Me?”
His eyes scanned me like he had seen a ghost.
A familiar ghost.
“Me? Me what?”
“You are my mate,” he said.
My mouth parted, but no words came out. I froze.
Mate.

The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
