Chapter 1
The city lights flickered faintly through the curtains, casting soft shadows in the room.
Kate stood by the window, gazing at the night, when she felt the warmth of Samuel's presence behind her. She turned to meet his gaze, her heart catching at the way he looked at her-like she was the only thing that mattered in his world.
He was her fiancé, and everything good to her—kind, generous, witty, and smart, with a heart as selfless as they came. It was no wonder he was the best thing that had ever happened to her. His laughter, his kindness, and the way he saw the world had changed her life in ways she never imagined.
He reached out, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear, his fingertips lingering against her skin. "You look like a dream," he murmured, his voice a low, gentle whisper that sent a ripple of heat through her.
"You always say that," she whispered back, a soft smile playing on her lips.
"Because it's always true." His hand slid down, caressing her cheek. "It's like I have to remind myself you're real."
Kate's breath caught as his fingers traced a slow, deliberate path along her jaw, down to her collarbone. His touch felt like fire and velvet, igniting something deep and primal within her. She closed her eyes, leaning into him, her senses filled with his warmth, his scent, the steady rhythm of his breathing.
"Samuel," she whispered, her voice barely audible as her eyes fluttered open to meet his. "You make everything else disappear."
Without another word, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers with a softness that made her heart ache. His kiss was slow, tender, like he was savoring every moment, every sensation. He pulled back, just enough to look at her, his dark eyes searching hers, filled with an intensity that made her knees weak.
"Do you know how long l've wanted you like this?" he whispered, his hand sliding down her back, pulling her closer until there was no space between them. "Every night I imagine this— imagine you."
Her fingers trailed along his jaw, feeling the roughness of his stubble, grounding herself in the solidity of him. "Then don't stop," she murmured, her voice thick with desire. "Tonight, I'm yours."
At her words, a soft groan escaped his lips, and his kiss deepened, his hands exploring, claiming, like he was mapping every inch of her he'd longed to touch. She matched his intensity, her own fingers tracing the lines of his shoulders, down his chest, feeling his heartbeat racing beneath her touch.
He leaned back, holding her gaze as he gently laid her on the bed, his body hovering over hers. "Are you sure?" he asked, his voice a breathless whisper as he brushed his thumb over her lips. "I don't want to rush you. I want... this to be everything."
She smiled up at him, her hand finding his, intertwining their fingers. "Samuel, with you, it already is."
The moonlight painted silver lines across their skin as they gave in to each other, their laughter mingling with whispered promises, soft gasps, and murmured words of love. His touch was tender yet consuming, his every move revealing just how deeply he cherished her.
As they lay together, Kate sighed, a hint of worry creeping into her expression. “You know, Ophelia’s gonna be so mad I didn’t make time to see her. If she knew I was spending the night with you, she’d probably kill me,” she said, grinning but with a tinge of guilt.
Samuel chuckled, pulling her closer. “I know she’s your best friend, but you’re mine. Every bit of you—from top to toe. So don’t worry,” he murmured, brushing a kiss against her forehead.
“But…we’re meeting her next Friday at the cafe, right? Promise me you won’t tell her we were together tonight.” Kate said.
Samuel laughed softly, pulling her closer. “You know, that’s not a bad idea.” He gave her a playful smile. “As you say, babe.”
Samuel's lips brushed her neck, trailing kisses down to her collarbone before pressing firmly, leaving a faint love bite. Kate gasped, half-laughing, half-breathless. "Hey... what are you doing? Don't love me that much," she teased, her voice a soft whisper of intoxicated joy.
He pulled back just slightly, his eyes dark with desire. "Kate, I'm addicted to you," he murmured, his hands tightening around her waist.
"I need more. I barely get to steal time with you—Kate Miller, the famous journalist. You’re always chasing leads, digging into files, or disappearing into that world of yours. You never rest, never after that unsolved case happened..."
Kate froze, her smile fading. "That case? You mean My parents' car crash?" she asked, her voice dropping to a whisper.
"Oh, I am sorry. I didn't mean to remind you."
"After they hit by a car, but the driver has never been found, I swear to work as hard as I could to never solve every mystious cases. Why are you so eager to make me forget my parent's death? You didn’t know them, did you?" Her tone was light, but the question hung heavy in the air, a thread of doubt weaving itself between them.
Samuel’s smile didn’t waver. The faint glow from the bedside lamp cast uneven patterns across his face, making his expression harder to read. "Of course not, my dear," he said smoothly, his voice like velvet. "I just want to spend more time with you. Every day. Every night. Because I love you, too much." He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face, his touch lingering just a moment too long.
Kate grinned, again. She pushed gently at his chest, her fingers pressing against the crisp fabric of his shirt. "Oh, Doctor, don’t put it all on me," she teased, her voice light but her eyes still searching his. "Sometimes I’m free, and you’re the busy one. Always buried in your research or locked away in that clinic of yours. But right now," she murmured, her lips brushing against his ear, "I’m loving you. Who knows when you’ll get caught up in your work again?"
Without missing a beat, Samuel leaned back down, his lips trailing from her neck, slowly working lower with deliberate, teasing kisses. "That's exactly why I can't let you go," he whispered, his voice a low growl.
"I want you here, now." Each kiss, each touch, was unhurried yet passionate, a testament to the nights they longed to spend together.
Kate's eyes fluttered closed, her breathing shallow as she gave in to the warmth of his embrace.
"Samuel... you know we'll be together soon ‘every night.’
He met her gaze, a smirk dancing on his lips. "I'll believe it when it happens. Until then..." he murmured, "let me love you the way you deserve." And with that, he claimed her lips again, drawing her deeper into the night they both craved.
As Samuel's kisses drifted lower, his lips brushing down her curves, Kate's voice was a playful whisper,
her fingers tangled in his hair.
"Hey... don't do it, or I'll have to ask for more."
He looked up, his eyes filled with mischief and desire. "I'm here for you, Kate," he murmured, his voice a low, seductive promise. "And I'll love you as much as you want. More."
With that, he returned to her, each kiss deepening the bond between them, filling the night with an unspoken vow of love and passion that neither wanted to end.

Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.

The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.

A pack of their own
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.

And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
