Introduction
I walked straight into a new job, working as assistant to a man known for his cold, untouchable demeanor. Every time my ex tries to drag me back, my new boss steps in front of me, looking at me like he's seeing something I don't even see in myself.
"You've never truly loved anyone," he told me.
I wanted to argue. But nothing came out.
Because suddenly, I don't know anymore. What I felt for my husband—was it love, or just habit? And what I feel for this man standing between me and my past… what is that?
Chapter 1
In the deserted alley, the screech of brakes pierced the air as tires kicked up clouds of dust.
Behind the wheel, a woman sat pale-faced, her knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel.
Her name was Lena Mitchell, twenty-five years old.
Half an hour ago, she had witnessed her husband—Logan Garcia, Executive President of Garcia Corporation—cheating on her.
The moment she saw him pull another woman into his arms with that adoring look on his face, their three-year marriage became nothing but a joke.
The worst part? She knew exactly who that woman was.
Sylvia Blair, the eldest daughter of Imperial City's prestigious Blair family.
Lena remembered how, right after graduation, Logan's marriage proposal had been so extravagant that all of Imperial City knew about it.
Everyone said Logan was madly in love with Lena, that he would marry no one but her.
Yet now, he'd fallen for someone else.
Or rather, he'd given away part of his heart to another woman.
Should she make a scene?
Should she be angry?
Should she cry?
She realized she couldn't do any of those things.
Taking a steadying breath, Lena pulled out her phone and made a call.
When the line connected, she said quietly, "I agree to divorce Logan."
Whatever Logan's father, Nathan Garcia, said on the other end made her furrow her brow, impatience creeping into her voice.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure he signs the divorce papers. But you'd better deliver what you promised me."
With that, she hung up.
As she slipped the phone back into her pocket, her eyes fell on the manila envelope sitting in the passenger seat, and something flickered across her face.
Two hours later, at the Garcia estate.
When Logan walked through the door, he instinctively glanced toward the living room sofa—no sign of Lena.
Usually, whenever he came home, she'd be sitting right there. The moment she saw him, she'd greet him with a bright smile, help him out of his coat, and ask him affectionately if he was tired.
Now, there was nothing.
Logan lowered his eyes, concealing whatever emotion flashed through them. He handed his coat to a servant, changed his shoes, and headed upstairs.
He was about to push open the bedroom door when he heard voices coming from the study next door. Withdrawing his hand, he turned and opened the study door instead.
By the floor-to-ceiling windows, Lena was on the phone. When she heard the door open, she turned to look at him, momentarily startled before a smile curved her lips.
"Yes, Mr. Phillips, I'm looking forward to our collaboration. I have to go now, but feel free to contact me anytime. No problem at all. Goodbye, Mr. Phillips."
After hanging up, she looked up at Logan, her tone shifting from businesslike to tender.
"You're home? Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"
The unease Logan had been feeling vanished the instant he saw Lena's smile.
He walked toward her. "I wanted to surprise you."
A surprise?
Lena laughed inwardly. More like a nightmare.
By the time she finished that thought, he'd already reached her. He pulled a beautifully wrapped box from his pocket and opened it to reveal a jade bracelet, flawless and translucent—clearly expensive.
"I saw this on my business trip and thought it would suit you. Here, let me put it on you."
Lena nodded and extended her hand, letting him slip the bracelet onto her wrist.
It was obviously too large.
"It's a bit big," she remarked casually.
The comment made Logan's expression shift slightly—a change that didn't escape her notice.
She'd seen it earlier on Sylvia's social media: an identical bracelet on Sylvia's wrist, except hers was emerald green and fit perfectly.
So... was Lena's an afterthought?
"They only had one size. It's fine—better too big than too small," Logan said with a smile, quickly changing the subject. "Who were you on the phone with just now?"
Lena withdrew her hand and quietly wiped the spot he'd touched.
"Mr. Phillips from Starlight Entertainment. His next project is about to start production—excellent creative team, up-and-coming lead actors. It has serious hit potential, so I tried to secure the wardrobe contract and an investment opportunity for Garcia Corporation. They've already sent over the contract."
She picked up the manila envelope from the desk and pulled out the contract.
"Perfect timing that you're back. Just sign it, and I'll have someone deliver it for notarization tomorrow."
Without hesitation, Logan nodded. "Sure."
He reached for the contract, but Lena quickly pressed him into the office chair, flipped to the signature page, and handed him a pen.
"Don't worry, I've already reviewed everything. It's a guaranteed profit for us."
Her reassurance stripped away any impulse he had to think twice.
"Alright."
He signed his name swiftly.
A weight lifted from Lena's chest. Her eyes darkened for a moment before she closed the contract and slipped it back into the envelope.
"You don't need to worry about it anymore. I'll have someone deliver it. You just got back from your trip—you must be exhausted. Go take a shower."
Logan stood and wrapped an arm around her waist, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Honey, I'm so lucky to have you."
All these years, having her by his side, helping him strategize and plan, had built Garcia Corporation into what it was today.
And yet, despite all that, he'd still cheated on her.
Lena found it bitterly ironic. Even being in the same room with him disgusted her now, let alone his intimate touches. Yet she had to keep up the facade of normalcy, pretending everything was fine. It made her feel like she'd stepped in something vile.
"I'm going to shower now."
"Okay."
Logan really was tired. He turned and left without noticing the coldness that settled over Lena's face the moment his back was turned.
By the time he emerged from the bathroom, Lena was gone. All that remained was a text message she'd sent twenty minutes earlier.
[Josie just got dumped. I'm staying with her tonight. Get some rest, honey.]
At the same time, another message came through.
[Logan, I miss you so much. I'm at Star Bar. Come find me?]
His scattered attention meant he didn't notice anything odd about Lena's text.
She almost never called him "honey."
Meanwhile, at Star Bar.
In a somewhat secluded booth, Josie Hayes looked across at Lena and sighed.
"Men—they're all the same, aren't they, Lena?"
There was one thing Lena hadn't lied to Logan about.
Josie really had been dumped.
But as close friends for years, Lena had witnessed her go through breakups too many times to count.
"You're absolutely right. Men are all the same," Lena said with a bitter laugh, lifting her glass and downing it.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket. She set down her glass and pulled it out—a text from an unknown number.
The message was brief: just a photo.
In a dimly lit room, the shadows of two bodies pressed intimately together were cast against the wall. Anyone could tell what they were doing.

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
