Introduction
My husband Arthur subdued the attacker and rushed us to the hospital—the picture of a devoted, loving spouse.
It was only after hearing his conversation with the doctor that I finally saw his true colors.
My crippling injury was merely collateral damage. My son Ethan? Nothing but a living cornea donor for Mia—the cherished daughter he had with his first love.
He treated my child like spare parts, never knowing Mia isn't even his blood.
Chapter 1
A madman attacked the concert hall. I threw myself over my son, taking every blow meant for him. My spine shattered in three places.
He treated my child like spare parts, never knowing Mia isn't even his blood.
......
The searing pain in my spine made my consciousness fragment like shattered glass.
"We only planned to harvest Ethan's corneas." The doctor's voice was hushed, unmistakably anxious. "Why did you have someone attack Mrs. Wood...and even cause Ethan's death? Her spinal injury is severe—she might be paralyzed for life."
"Diana was collateral damage." My husband Arthur's voice was as calm as if discussing a contract. "But since it happened, it doesn't matter."
"But..." The doctor's voice trembled. "Ethan is only seven years old—"
"Ethan's only purpose was to serve as Mia's cornea donor. The surgery is complete. There's no need for him to wake up again." Arthur cut him off, his tone cold as a blade. "... he was never the child I wanted anyway."
My world collapsed in that moment.
I bit down hard on the back of my hand to keep from making a sound. The taste of blood filled my mouth. The man I'd loved for seven years, my husband—talked about our son like he was a spare part.
"What about Mrs. Wood's spine..." The doctor was still trying to say something.
Arthur's dismissal was casual. "Diana's resilient."
Tears fell silently, soaking into the pillow. I felt my heart being torn apart alive.
Seven years of marriage, seven years of dedication—I'd used the entire Astoria family's resources to secretly support his rise to the top of Wall Street, and this was what I got in return?
Footsteps echoed in the hallway as another person joined the conversation.
"Mr. Wood, the security footage has all been cleaned up." An unfamiliar male voice, obsequious.
Arthur lowered his voice. "Good work. The payment has been transferred. Remember—leave here and keep your mouth shut. Don't make things difficult for me."
I closed my eyes, my blood seemingly freezing into ice.
The attacker stood outside my door, chatting and laughing with my husband.
But my Ethan—that boy who tiptoed up every morning to kiss my cheek, that son who sat at the piano with angelic concentration—would never smile at me again.
Ethan's face surfaced in my mind.
Three days ago, he'd leaned mysteriously close to my ear. "Mommy, this piece is for Daddy. It's called 'Starlight.' I'm going to play it for him at the recital. He'll love it, won't he?"
I'd said of course, Daddy will be so moved.
He'd spun around in place with joy, his eyes full of stars.
But his father had already made his plans. He'd planned to take those beautiful eyes and give them to her. Give them to his mistress's daughter.
Arthur Wood, you took away his right to see the world. I'll make you regret that you can still see.
The footsteps gradually faded, and the hallway fell silent. Arthur strode in, concern etched on his face—an expression I would have believed an hour ago.
He reached out to stroke my hair. I turned my head away.
"Diana, you're awake?" His voice was hoarse, his eyes rimmed with red, the performance so convincing. "How do you feel? The doctor said your spine was badly injured, but you'll get better. I've arranged for the best specialists—"
"Where's Ethan?" I stared at him.
His expression froze instantly. His lips began to tremble. He lowered his head, covering his face with his hands, his shoulders shaking slightly—like a grief-stricken father.
"I'm sorry... I couldn't protect you both." His voice broke. "When that lunatic burst in, I was too far away. Ethan... the doctors couldn't save him."
I watched him perform, nausea churning in my stomach.
"Diana..." He moved forward to embrace me.
I grabbed the water glass from the bedside table with all my remaining strength and hurled it at him.
"Give me back my son!"
Arthur froze for a second, then stepped forward to press his hands on my shoulders, his tone sickeningly gentle. "Calm down, Diana. I know you're devastated. I'm devastated too. But Ethan is gone, and we can't let grief destroy what's left of our lives."
"You never loved him!" I screamed hysterically. "You never loved him at all!"
He pulled me into his arms, holding me tight even as I struggled desperately.
"Of course I loved him. He was our son. I've already had Ethan's favorite piano donated to the music academy, established a scholarship in his name. Ethan was such a kind person. He would want his music to live on through other children."
I stopped struggling in his arms.
That piano was the gift I'd given Ethan for his sixth birthday. He polished the keys every day, said it was his most precious treasure.
Arthur wouldn't even leave me that memory.
Then I remembered: three weeks ago, Arthur had shown me the design plans for the music academy. Twenty million dollars.
I'd thought it was a gift for Ethan, only puzzled why it was named the Mia Piano Academy.
Now I understood.
"Where is he? Where did you put Ethan?" My voice was raspy.
Arthur avoided my gaze. "I've already arranged for cremation."
I closed my eyes, my nails digging deep into my palms.
Blood seeped through my fingers, dripping onto the white sheets.
Arthur Wood, you didn't even leave me an intact body. You're so afraid of me seeing Ethan—are you afraid I'll see what you did to him?

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
The mafia princess return

Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."
