Introduction
Amidst whispers of betrayal, media scrutiny, and Adrian’s own walls of guilt, Darcy and Adrian’s hearts collide in quiet moments of laughter, care, and stolen glances. But can love survive when the world seems determined to tear them apart or will the past and family expectations force them to let go of the only happiness they’ve ever truly known?
Chapter 1
Darcy POV
The rain came down like it had personal beef with me. Not gentle rain. Not cute, movie rain. No Lagos-style, full-blown, sky-opening, “Darcy, today is not your day," rain?
By the time I sprint across the marble lobby of Ashford Holdings, I look like a wet cat who has lost a fight with a generator wire. My hair is plastered to my cheeks. My blouse cling to my skin. The receptionist desk is empty, the chairs spotless, and everything smell like new money.
I clutch my folder of certificates to my chest and pray it isn’t turning to mush inside. The elevator bell dings. People rush out. I rush in.
Wrong move.
The doors slide shut, and instead of the usual ping to the 12th floor, the HR floor, I am all the way up to where everything become too quiet to be normal.
The elevator doors open, I step into a hallway that look like it belongs in a billionaire’s dream. The air smell like expensive wood and subtle cologne. The carpet is so soft my shoes barely make a sound. This is definitely not HR.
I turn to step back into the elevator, but the doors close instantly like they are tired of me. "Fantastic".
Then I hear it.
A scream.
A baby screams sharp and desperate.
My body move before my brain caught up. I follow the sound down the hallway and stop in front of a glass office door where a man is pacing with a squalling baby in his arms.
The man… dear God.
He looks like someone who don’t belong in real life. Tall, built like he effortlessly lifts companies and gym weights with the same energy, wearing a charcoal suit that probably cost more than a year’s rent in my apartment. His dark hair is a little messed up, his tie abandoned on the desk, and he is pacing like a malfunctioning robot about to self-destruct.
The baby is screaming at the top of her lungs. Red face. Kicking tiny legs. The whole disaster package.
I don't think. I just act.
I push open the door.
He spins around so fast his eyes nearly cut me. “This is a private….”
But the baby sees me and reach out with those tiny desperate fists like I was her long-lost savior.
I blink.
He blinks.
The baby screams louder.
“Can I—?” I point at her, my voice shaking from the cold and the sheer absurdity of the moment.
He hesitates, clearly out of options. Then he hands her over with the reluctance of someone giving away state secrets.
The moment the baby touches my chest, she stops crying.
Just like that.
Silence.
Perfect, peaceful silence.
Her little fingers curls into my damp blouse, and she let out a soft, contented sigh.
I look up at the man.
He isn't blinking anymore.
He isn’t breathing either.
“Witchcraft,” he whispers.
My eyes widen. “Excuse me?”
He shakes his head quickly. “No…I mean…sorry. She never stops crying for anyone. Except her nanny. Who quit. Fifteen minutes ago.”
Ah.
That explains the panic written all over his very expensive face.
The baby snuggles deeper into my arms, tiny curls tickling my chin. My heart melts instantly. Babies have that effect on me. Well. Some babies. Not the screaming ones in buses. But this one? This one feels like she has personally picked me.
“I’m… I’m just here for the receptionist interview,” I manage to say, trying not to sound like someone who looks like a drowned broomstick.
He stares at me like I am speaking in tongues. Then his gaze drops to the name tag sticker the lobby guard had slapped on my chest.
DARCY IFE
APPLICANT
12TH FLOOR
His lips parts slightly. “You’re not a staff.”
“No,” I said, rocking the baby gently. “But I can help until…”
“No, I mean….” He rubs his forehead in complete defeat. “You shouldn’t even be on this floor.”
“Well…” I shrug. “The elevator decided my fate.”
The baby cooed. Actually. Like she has found paradise on earth.
He watches us, stunned, thrown off his axis, and probably reconsidering every life choice that led to this moment.
My clothes are still dripping, but the baby is warm against me. I bounce her gently the way my aunt taught me when my little cousins were born. The baby's eyes flutters as she starts drifting off.
I didn’t miss the way the billionaire’s entire body relaxed, like someone had lifted a mountain off his back.
He steps closer, slowly, like approaching a delicate, magical creature he didn’t want to spook.
“I’m Adrian Ashford,” he said, voice lower now. Softer. Less CEO, more human. “This is Hazel. My daughter.”
I swallow. “She’s beautiful.”
He nods, but his gaze stay fixed on me. “She likes you.”
Hazel nuzzles into my neck like she could hear him and agreed.
I try to hand her back, but Adrian put his hands up as if I was giving him a ticking bomb.
“No, no. Please. Hold her.”
His desperation is almost funny if it isn’t so sad.
“Is this your office?” I ask, looking around.
“Yes.” He straightens a little, like remembering he was supposed to look powerful, not helpless. “CEO floor.”
“Right,” I murmur, adjusting Hazel. “So I’m very, very in the wrong place.”
He didn’t argue.
Instead, he slowly walks around his desk and leans against it, arms folded. He studies me with a focus that makes my stomach tighten.
His voice drops, steady and decisive, like he has just made up his mind about something important.
“Who are you,” he said, “and how soon can you start?”
My heart slams into my ribs.
Hazel sighs contentedly against me.
And I soaked, freezing, unemployed, and holding the child of a man who looks like a Greek god with a billionaire’s bank account could only stare back at him.
This is not how my day is supposed to go.
But something in Adrian’s eyes told me nothing about my life would go “supposed to” again.

What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

A pack of their own
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
Genevieve loses a bet she can’t afford to pay. In a compromise, she agrees to convince any man her opponent chooses to go home with her that night. Let Them Kneel
Cast out by her pack. Forgotten by the Lycans.
She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.
But when her first heat comes without warning, everything changes.
Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.
For the first time, she believes she’s been accepted.
Seen.
Chosen.
Until he leaves her the next morning—
like a secret never to be spoken.
But Kaelani is not what they thought.
Not wolfless. Not weak.
There is something ancient inside her. Something powerful. And it’s waking.
And when it does—
they’ll all remember the girl they tried to erase.
Especially him.
She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
Because secrets never stay buried.
And neither do dreams.
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.

In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.

It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
