Introduction
When the photos leak, Karl's multimillion-dollar endorsement deal hangs by a thread. The only solution is for them to convince the world that their one-night stand is actually a love story.
But playing pretend gets complicated when Hartland wants her back, secrets about his new fiancée surface, and Karl's jealousy starts feeling a little too real.
In hockey, you either play to win or get played. And Molly's about to learn that the same rules apply to love.
Chapter 1
CHAPTER 1: The Humiliation
MOLLY'S POV
I throw the champagne bottle at the TV. It shattered against the screen, making the screen crackle before going black. And Hartland's face disappears mid-proposal.
Good. I don't need to see him slide that ring onto her finger anyway.
My hands are shaking. I've been staring at this screen for twenty minutes, watching the same clip over and over.
Hartland Jacob, my ex-fiancé, down on one knee in front of Lilian Brooklyn at center ice. The crowd was going wild.
He left me two months before our wedding, and one month later he's proposing to an actress on live television.
I grab my jacket and keys. My apartment suddenly feels too small and quiet.
My phone won't stop buzzing with texts and calls, but I shove it in my pocket and head out.
The Rusty Puck is the kind of dive bar where hockey fans go to celebrate or drown their sorrows, depending on how the game went.
Tonight, I'm not here for hockey.
I slide onto a barstool and the bartender gives me a once-over.
"What'll it be ma'am?" The bartender asked.
"Tequila.” I immediately responded. “ And keep them coming, no questions."
He nods and pours without comment. I down the first shot and push the glass back toward him.
The bar is half-full, mostly guys in jerseys watching postgame highlights on the mounted TVs. I catch a glimpse of Hartland's face on one of them and look away fast.
He told me he needed space. He said the wedding planning was too much pressure, that he wasn't ready to settle down yet, and he needed to focus on his career.
I believed him and cancelled the venue, returned the dress, and told everyone the wedding was off.
Then I saw the pictures of him with Lilian Brooklyn three weeks later.
The second shot burns less than the first.
"Rough night?" The bartender is back with the bottle.
"Haha… rough month rather." I tap my glass.
He pours again and I drink it. The edges of the room start to blur a little.
My phone buzzes again. I pull it out and see my sister's name, then my mom's, then my friend's I haven't talked to in months. Everyone wants to check on me. I silence it and order another drink.
By the time I've lost count of the shots, the bar is spinning. I need air.
I stumble off the stool and head for the door. The bartender says something but I'm already outside, gulping down the night air.
There's a hotel across the street. The one with a lobby bar and valets.
Before I can talk myself out of it, I'm walking through the hotel doors.
The lobby is too bright. I squint at the front desk clerk.
"Room. I need a room."
She types something, asks for my card. I hand it over and she gives me a key card.
"Third floor, room 318."
I don't remember getting to the elevator or the ride up or finding the room.
What I remember is sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at my phone. The video of Hartland's proposal is everywhere. Twitter, Instagram, TikTok. Everyone is talking about it. #HartlandAndLilian. #CoupleGoals. #SoRomantic.
I wanted to scream before I heard a knock at the door.
I get up, swaying. I didn't order anything. Maybe it's housekeeping.
I open it and there's a man in the hallway, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up. I can barely see his face.
"Wrong room," I say, but my words are slurred.
"Everyone left," he says, laughing in-between.
"Everyone fucking left."
He's drunk too. I can hear it in his voice. I should push him off and close the door. But he looks broken, and I know that feeling.
"Come in." The words come out before I can think.
He stumbles inside and I close the door behind him. We stand there for a second, two drunk strangers in a hotel room.
I remember being lifted. And then my back hitting the bed and his weight on top of me.
Then everything goes black.
The first thing I noticed was my aching head. The second thing is the dry taste in my mouth. The third thing is that I'm not wearing any clothes.
I keep my eyes closed, trying to piece together what happened. The bar. The shots. The hotel room. The man at my door.
Oh god.
My stomach twists. I force my eyes open and the sunlight makes everything worse.
I turn my head slowly and freeze. And God, there's someone next to me.
A man, still asleep, dark hair messy against the pillow. His arm is across my waist.
On the floor next to the bed, there's a black hoodie and jeans. And under them, a hockey jersey.
And that made my heart stop. No. Please no.
Hartland came back. Did the backlash from the proposal make him come find me?? And I was so drunk I slept with him.
I'm going to be sick. God… noooo
My phone starts ringing from the nightstand. I grab it with shaking hands, trying not to wake him.
The screen lights up with the name HARTLAND'S MOTHER.
The man beside me stirs at the sound. Please let this be a nightmare. Please let me wake up.
He rolls onto his back, one arm going behind his head. His eyes are still closed. That's not Hartland's face.
This guy's features are sharper. The jawline is different. And when he opens his eyes, they're ice blue.
I've seen this face before. On TV, in sports articles, in the tabloids.
Goddddd…. This is Karl Lagerfeld.
Hartland's teammate. The star player he's always complaining about. The guy who's better at everything, according to Hartland's bitter rants.
My phone is still ringing in my hand. Then Karl looks at me, then at the phone screen, then back at me.
"Are you Molly Texas?" he asks.
I totally forgot how to breathe. He's so gorgeous.
"Hartland's ex," he continued, sitting up slowly. "The one he dumped before the wedding."
The phone stops ringing. Three seconds later, it starts again.
HARTLAND'S MOTHER.
"Yes I am. And this is bad," I whisper.
"Yeah." He runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah, this is really bad."

“No, Firecat.” He placed an index finger on my lips. “This will take your mind off that son of a bitch.” His strong hands pulled me by the waist until I felt his hard manhood.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
I’d appreciate all your support, thank you so much!
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.
**
As a ballet dancer, My life looks perfect—scholarship, starring role, sweet boyfriend Tyler. Until Tyler shows his true colors and his older brother, Asher, comes home.
Asher is a Navy veteran with battle scars and zero patience. He calls me "princess" like it's an insult. I can't stand him.
When My ankle injury forces her to recover at the family lake house, I‘m stuck with both brothers. What starts as mutual hatred slowly turns into something forbidden.
I'm falling for my boyfriend's brother.
**
I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Aphrodite and the Cursed Mate Bond
She finds truth.
Aphrodite is not human at all. She is a rare white wolf, descended from an ancient Direwolf bloodline long believed extinct. The ritual meant to sever her ties awakens her wolf instead and with it comes the scent of five mates bound to her by fate.
The Alpha twins who once scorned her now cannot stay away. A human hunter walks beside her and proves that strength is not born of fangs or dominance. A cursed Wolf King holds the key to her past and her father’s imprisonment. And watching from the shadows is one who was never meant to interfere at all.
As gods fall, packs fracture, and war reshapes the world, Aphrodite must decide what destiny truly means. Is it submission to fate or the courage to choose her own path.
Love does not come in one form. Neither does power.
In a world ruled by gods and wolves, Aphrodite will become something neither ever expected.
Not a queen.
But the axis upon which the world turns.
The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
Ella never imagined she would marry the man she had secretly loved for years in such a way.
When her brother Theo faced twenty-five years in prison for massive embezzlement, the ruthless business tycoon James Lancaster offered her a deal: marry him in exchange for her brother's freedom.
This wasn't a fairy tale proposal, but a carefully orchestrated revenge. Because in James's heart, Ella was the culprit who had killed his sister Cecilia. He wanted her to pay the price—to atone with a lifetime of suffering.
They'll Regret This
My fiancé didn't just dump me—he proposed to her that same night. My so-called family handed me bus fare and a one-way ticket to the countryside.
Perfect. Let them think they won.
They don't know who I really am. The anonymous genius surgeon who saves lives when elite hospitals give up. The legendary artist whose paintings sell for millions at auction. The undefeated shadow queen of the underground fighting circuit. And the true heiress to a fortune that makes theirs look like pocket change.
Now my ex-fiancé begs on his knees. My fake sister's jealousy is eating her alive. And that cold, arrogant CEO who once threw our engagement contract in my face? He's hunting me down like a man possessed, desperate for one more chance.
They threw me away like trash to upgrade their lives.
Joke's on them.
I was always the upgrade.
HER ALPHA, HER SAVIOUR
Kane Hellboud, charm and wealth personified, wanted only me in exchange for her treatment. No cameras, isolation, or noose-like rules were part of the deal. Behind his smile? Cold, violent possessiveness that destroyed our fake marriage.
Most of all, I didn’t know the supernatural walked among us, hiding in the cracks of ordinary life. Not until Abel Stone stepped into mine—dark-eyed, sharp-tongued, and oozing dangerous promises. He’s my new boss. He shouldn’t make my skin tingle or my pulse race. I shouldn’t feel this primal pull, this illogical recognition that tugs at something deep in my bones.
Around him, lights burst, electronics fry, and something ancient in me awakens.
Kane feels it. His grip tightens, punishments turn brutal, and he hides the truth of what I am.
Trapped between two powerful men, I’m no prey, no pawn—no helpless victim.
Prisons burn. Monsters bleed. As for me? I'm the storm in skin—deadly beyond suspicion.
