Iron Blood: The Only Vampire With a Human Heart
mimisnow04 · Ongoing · 40.9k Words
Introduction
Asher was born an anomaly among the vampire aristocracy, a high-born noble with a beating human heart. In a society that worships the cold and the dead, his warmth was a mark of shame. Betrayed by his kin and stripped of his rank, he was cast into the "Blood Pits" to be drained and forgotten.
But the aristocrats made a fatal mistake. They didn't realize that while their ancient blood is stagnant and cold, Asher’s heart is a Living Forge. Every beat of his heart refines his blood into a concentrated, golden energy that hasn't been seen since the age of the First Progenitors.
Asher isn’t just fighting for survival, though. He is driven by the memory of Charlotte, the daughter of the High Sovereign and the most beautiful woman in the Night Realm. To the world, she is a Frozen Goddess, untouchable and cold. To Asher, she is the only person who ever looked at him with something other than disgust.
Now, as Charlotte is used as a pawn in a political marriage to the man who ruined him, Asher’s blood begins to boil. He will tear his way out of the pits, evolve through the ranks of the undead, and burn down the old world to claim his place at her side.
The Failure is coming back for his throne. He will prove that the strongest steel isn't found in the grave, it’s forged in the pulse of the Iron Blood.
Chapter 1
The rain in the Night Realm was never refreshing. It was cold, oily, and smelled of old copper, much like the stagnant blood of the aristocrats who ruled this city. I lay facedown in the gutter, my cheek pressed against the jagged cobblestones. Every breath was a jagged rasp that tore at my lungs, echoing against the silent, towering walls of the obsidian district.
Above me, the spires of the high-born estates loomed like teeth against a purple sky. Tonight, they were celebrating. The elite were gathered to toast to another century of their frozen empire, while I was being discarded like refuse. I was chained to a rusted iron post, the silver-lined shackles biting deep into my wrists.
"Move it, half-breed," a guard spat, his heavy boot colliding with my ribs.
I felt a rib snap, followed by a dull, throbbing heat. Most vampires would have felt nothing but the slow, painless knitting of flesh. But I was different. I felt the white-hot flash of agony and the frantic, sickening thud in my chest that always followed.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
The sound was a curse. In a world of silent chests and frozen veins, my heart was a drum that announced my weakness to everyone. It was the reason my father had disowned me and the reason I was currently drowning in the mud of the slums.
"Look at him," another guard laughed, leaning on his spear. "The 'Young Master' is shivering. I can hear that pathetic heart from here, Asher. It sounds like a dying bird trapped in a cage."
"It’s a wonder the High Lord didn't put him down at birth," the first one replied, kneeling to grab a handful of my hair. He yanked my head back, forcing me to look at the silver chains. "Does it hurt? Good. Silver reacts to warmth, and you’re practically a furnace compared to a real vampire. You’re an insult to our blood."
I tried to pull away, but the silver seared my skin, sending a jolt of electricity through my nervous system. My throat was dry, filled with the taste of bile and iron.
"Kill me then," I croaked, my voice sounding like grinding stones. "If I’m such an insult, end it."
The guard’s grin widened, revealing elongated, needle-sharp fangs.
"And miss the fun? No, Asher. We’re going to leave you here until the sun rises. Let’s see if that human heart of yours can handle a real fire."
They turned away, laughing as they walked toward the warmth of the guardhouse, leaving me to the mercy of the oily rain. I slumped against the post, my strength fading. The cold was finally starting to win. My heartbeat slowed, growing faint and erratic. I closed my eyes, ready for the silence to finally take me.
But then, something shifted.
A drop of rain hit the center of my chest, right over my heart, and instead of freezing me, it turned to steam. A strange, pinprick of heat ignited in the core of my soul. It wasn't the heat of a fever; it was the heat of a forge.
My heart gave a violent, sudden kick. It hit my ribs so hard I gasped, my eyes snapping open. My vision, usually dull and grey in the dark, suddenly flushed with a vibrant, liquid gold.
The silver shackles began to hiss. The metal, designed to suppress vampire mana, found itself facing something it wasn't built to contain. The silver began to glow a dull, angry red, reacting to the sudden surge of temperature rising from my veins.
I didn't just feel stronger; I felt like I was being reconstructed from the inside out. The stagnant blood in my body began to circulate at a terrifying speed, refined by the rhythmic thumping of my heart into something dense and powerful.
"What... what is this?" I whispered, watching as my own skin began to radiate a soft, golden light.
I gripped the chains. Usually, the silver would have melted my palms. Now, the metal groaned and softened under my touch like wax. I pulled, not with the strength of a vampire, but with the raw, explosive power of a man whose blood was literally boiling.
The links shattered.
The sound of the breaking silver rang out through the silent street like a thunderclap. I stood up, the mud falling away from my body as the steam continued to rise from my skin. The pain was gone, replaced by a predatory hunger that made the guards' fangs look like toys.
I looked at my hands, watching the golden veins pulse under my skin in perfect time with my heart. I wasn't a failure anymore. I was a transition.
Somewhere in the distance, a bell tolled, signaling the start of the high-born gala. They thought they were celebrating their immortality, but as I took my first step toward the lights of the upper city, I knew the truth. I was the only thing in this city that was truly alive, and I was coming to burn their cold paradise to the ground.

Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
