Introduction
•••••••••
On the night of her wedding, romantic photos of her sleeping with an unknown man was leaked by her jealous stepsister, which made the groom to marry her sister instead of her. After that, she became an object of laughter, scorned by society overnight.
Five years later, she returned back with triplet babies with an unknown father. However, fate made her path to cross with Drake Butler, the most powerful man in the city.
Drake was rumoured to be a gay, hated women and was strict in the business world. Countless women failed to warm his heart, but why did this same powerful man began to chase after her?
When he could not win her over, he met her kids who were the mini-version of himself, he squinted threateningly and said, “Woman, how dare you run away with my children?”
She shook her head innocently in response, “I don't understand you Mr. Butler, what right do you have to call my kids yours? You'd better be joking.
At this moment, one among the three babies stood out and stared at Drake.
“Who’s this rascal bullying our mother? You’ll first have to get past us if you wanna lay a hand on her!”
Drake was stunned....
Chapter 1
"This is absolutely reprehensible, and it makes me sick to my stomach..."
The wedding that was supposed to be a romantic occasion ended up being a complete and total fiasco.
Nicole turned her head to look at the enormous screen while everyone else in the room continued to chatter. A selection of photographs, some of which had been blown up, were laid out for viewing.
It was her who played the role of the primary female protagonist in the photographs, and the man who shared the bed with her was not the groom-to-be, Jared Young.
At that very instant, Nicole was taken aback. "What the heck is going on? What is the significance of this image?
Due to the manner in which the photographs of her and the man on the bed had been taken, the woman's face could be seen from a variety of perspectives, whereas the man's image could only be seen from the back or the side.
She was positive that she did not recognize the man in question in any way!
Nicole's eyes drifted over to Jared without her conscious awareness. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. In addition to this, his face darkened, and a furious gleam began to appear in his eyes.
"Woman! How dare you betray me!"
Jared didn't even wait for her to respond before he smacked her hard across the face!
Nicole took a blow to the face and ended up collapsing to the floor. Her cheek went from being pink to being red and swollen in an instant. She covered her mouth, lifted her chin, and raised her head as she defended herself. "I'm sorry, Ja, but you have it all wrong. There must be some sort of misunderstanding going on here!"
"Misunderstanding? You have the audacity to say that you're not the lady in those pictures, don't you?" He had lost his composure and was roaring in exasperation at this point.
The shakes started to spread throughout Nicole's body. "I... I'm in the same boat as you; I have no idea what's going on." She appeared to be in a daze. Except for that one night, she had never been in a relationship with another man before...
Jared exerted his grip on her chin in a demanding manner. "Are you willing to put your word on the line and swear that you haven't been having sexual relations with another man?"
"I…" before Nicole could finish talking, her stepsister, Amelia Chapman, spoke up, "During Jared's birthday celebrations the night before, Cole, you were absent for the entirety of the celebration. Who were you spending the night with exactly?"
Nicole was completely taken aback. That night, she had consumed too much alcohol and had a fuzzy recollection of being in a hotel with Jared.
Almost instantaneously, she retorted, "Ja and I stayed the night in a hotel!"
On the other hand, Jared let out a chuckle. "That evening, I drove myself home because I was intoxicated and couldn't drive. How is it possible that we stayed the night in a hotel together? I can't believe it."
As the color in Nicole's face gradually began to fade, Nicole was suddenly left speechless.
Who else could it have been if he wasn't the man I was with that night? If it wasn't him, who was I with?
She fell to the ground, and the words that Jared had just said hit her like a bolt of lightning.
After observing her reaction, Jared stated as if he had absolute certainty about the matter, "Good, very good! That's not too bad, Nicole! I regret to inform you that the wedding has been postponed."
"No!" Nicole lost her cool.
"I didn't betray you, Ja. Someone framed me. You must believe me. Someone must have been conspiring against me in the background ""I'm so nervous," she said. "Who the hell put me in this situation?"
Jared's level of ire was through the roof; he had completely lost his composure. "Nicole, please stop playing roles. You really make me feel like puking!"
He disdainfully pushed her away from him. He appeared out of nowhere, leaned over, and grabbed her wedding dress with a great deal of force. He had changed and was no longer as kind as he once was.
"Ja, what exactly are you doing?" Nicole was shaking all over.
"Put that thing down! What gives you the right to wear that thing?!"
Nicole did not give up her fight, but her efforts were ultimately in vain. She ended up having the dress that had been specially made for her to wear on her wedding day taken off of her in public.
Amelia Chapman received the wedding dress after Jared had given her a chilly glance before turning around and handing it to her.
"Amelia, are you willing to wed me?"
Amelia's response of "I do!" revealed that she was unable to contain the excitement that she felt.
Nicole could not tear her eyes away from her best friend as the latter put on her wedding dress. She could not believe it.
Even her wedding ring was placed on Amelia's finger by Jared!
"No! Sally, I don't understand how you could do that... he's my husband!" When Nicole looked at her stepsister, her eyes became red and she stared at her.
Amelia, who was standing, cast her gaze in her direction. "Nicole, let's get one thing straight. My husband's name is Jared for the time being." Having said that, she did so on purpose while showing off the enormous diamond ring that was on her hand.
Amelia approached Nicole with a grin on her face, leaned close to her ear, and spoke in a low voice that could only be heard by the two of them. She asked Nicole, "Cole, are you happy with the wedding gift I gave you?"
The revelation hit Nicole like a bolt of lightning, and she grasped it immediately. "She's the one who took those pictures!"
Her mind was racing with rage, and she had an overwhelming desire to rip the fake smile off of Sally's face. "Yes, Amelia, it was you..."
Before Nicole could finish accusing her, Amelia stood up and yelled at the security guards, "Chase this crafty woman out of here!" She pretended to be Mrs. Young by acting as though she was in character.
"Get your hands off of me!" No matter how hard Nicole tried, there was no point in her efforts. She was subdued and removed from the premises by the security personnel.
Nicole could feel the embers of rage igniting within her chest. She was completely caught off guard when she found out that her stepsister had arranged a date for her.
In addition to that, the man who had assured her that he would marry her did nothing but stare indifferently at the scene.
The front desk staff kicked Nicole out of the hotel when they saw her. Then, before she had even had a chance to let the pain sink in, she got a call from the hospital saying, "Miss Chapman, your mom has just passed away after her illness came back."
"What?!" The woman's hand started trembling out of control, and she ended up dropping her phone on the floor. She had the feeling that someone had cruelly stabbed a hole through her heart.
She was having a hard time getting up in order to make her way to the hospital when all of a sudden, she felt pain in her stomach. After that, she noticed that there was blood flowing all over her thighs...
Her surprise was palpable. She clung desperately to her stomach in anguish as she wailed "Baby..." in a helpless manner.

I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.

“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
