Chapter 1
Maisie’s POV
“I saw Neo enter the club with a girl.”
That’s what one of my friends told me fifteen minutes ago. So, here I am, in front of the door of the nightclub mentioned in the information. Ready to prove that my boyfriend is indeed with another woman in this club.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. The outside of the nightclub was crowded, with music blaring from inside and flashing lights illuminating dancing faces. I pushed the door open and stepped inside, letting the sounds and noise greet me.
I looked around, trying to find Neo among the moving crowd. However, my view was blocked by people enjoying their night. The flashing lights of different colors added to the chaos, but I kept my focus.
I walked further into the club, past the bar, swaying to the music. I couldn’t let my feelings get the better of me. I needed proof - one look would be enough. Among the moving bodies, I caught a glimpse of a long-haired girl in a black dress. I already knew that Neo liked that type of woman.
I tried to get closer, but the loud music made it difficult for me to move quickly. I tried to break through the crowd. Every step I took felt tense, every beat of my heart felt like glass that would break if I was not careful.
In my 24 years of life in the world, this was the first time I had entered a nightclub. I was still wearing my work clothes, my hair tied up carelessly, and my makeup was only a thin lipstick that had faded because I had been working since this morning.
I walked past people dancing to the rhythm of the music, past people who looked at me strangely. I didn't care; I only had one goal: to find the man named Neo.
After five minutes of searching, my gaze fell on a point in the corner of the room. On a long sofa that seemed to have been specially ordered by a man I knew very well.
Neo, my lover for the past year, was sitting there holding a woman in sexily dressed clothes. My blood boiled, rising to the crown of my head. I walked quickly towards the two of them. It wasn't just their intimate position that made me furious, but also what they were doing right now.
The sound of their kissing began to be heard as I got closer to my lover who was making out with another woman. Then, without a word, I grabbed the drink on the table and poured it over the two humans.
"What the hell is this?!" the sexily dressed woman exclaimed angrily as she got off Neo's lap.
"Maisie?!" Neo stood up, staring at me as if he had just seen a ghost.
"Disgusting!" I spat right at Neo's feet. Both my hands were clenched at my sides, I held back tears even though my chest was hurting so much right now. "Is this how you act behind my back? Like an animal!"
Neo ruffled his hair in annoyance, then laughed mockingly. "You're the one who's being holy, not wanting more than a kiss. We're adults, Maisie, not kindergarteners!"
"You're not my boyfriend anymore, you jerk!" I grabbed the ketchup bottle on the table and poured its contents on Neo's head.
"What are you doing, Maisie?!" Neo shouted angrily, almost reaching for my hand, but I had already pulled my hand back.
"Are you really a savage?!" The woman who was making out with Neo immediately helped Neo tidy up his hair. "No wonder Neo can't stand you, you act like someone who never went to school!"
"Your behavior is worse than someone who never went to school!" I said sharply.
The woman who was with Neo turned to look at me with a satisfied grin. "Good thing you came here, I'll tell you everything!"
"Enough, Erina!" Neo scolded who was still busy cleaning his hair from the sauce, too lazy to make a bigger scene.
The woman called Erina ignored me, she continued to shorten the distance with me until she was standing right in front of me. She raised her hand, pointing at her ring finger which was circled by a ring.
"I'm engaged to Neo and will be getting married next week. And not only that…” Erina lowered her head, whispering in Maisie’s ear in an arrogant and mocking tone. “I’m two months pregnant and this is my child with Neo.”
My breath immediately hitched. The tears I had been holding back tried to fall. But no, I would not let those two people see me in such a weak condition.
I took a deep breath, getting rid of the choking feeling in my throat. I laughed sarcastically. "I thought prostitutes were the lowest women," I replied in a very insulting tone.
Erina frowned but did not respond.
"But it turns out they are more expensive than you. They are still paid to please men, but you give yourself for free. You are much cheaper than a prostitute!"
"Insolent!" Erina shouted angrily while slapping my cheek hard.
My head slammed to the side, but I still managed to grin. "Your reaction shows that I was right. And you, cheap man." I glared at Neo sharply.
"Thank you for showing me where your status is. I am not sad about this incident, I am very happy. Because finally I know that you are just a jerk who only knows about the crotch!" I hissed sharply while pushing Neo's body hard until he fell to the floor, then I left without any guilt.
"You cheap girl!" Erina intended to chase me but was stopped by Neo.
I continued to walk away, ignoring Erina's angry shouts, let alone the stares of the club visitors.
I walked quickly out of the club, along the deserted sidewalk. My face hardened, my eyes red from holding back tears. Who said I was happy? That was just a suggestion so that I would not be too sad about this incident.
I stopped in a dark and deserted corner of the sidewalk. My head was bowed, my hair falling over my face. I started to feel nervous, letting the tears that I had been holding back flow heavily, wetting my face.
Over time, my crying turned into loud sobs. I sat there, crouching, hugging my own knees. Crying bitterly alone. Because still, there is nothing that is not painful when there is a broken heart.
At ten at night, I had just come home with a tired body and a swollen face from crying. The house I meant was just a small house whose walls were connected to the walls of my neighbor's house.
I frowned when I found a luxury car parked in the alley in front of my house. The alley to my house was indeed impassable by car because it was very narrow.
"Whose car is this?" I muttered as I continued to drive my motorbike into the alley.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

A Lesson in Magic
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
