The Devil’s Contract: Kiss Me Like A Lie
Diana Matthew · Ongoing · 69.7k Words
Introduction
The air in the ballroom was suffocating, filled with the scent of expensive wine and predatory Alphas. I felt the familiar, terrifying burn start low in my stomach. My suppressants were failing. I am an Omega pretending to be a Beta, and my fiancé, Reign Montgomery, is a powerful Enigma who believes Omegas are nothing but weak whores.
I rushed to the restroom, locking myself in, praying the scent wouldn't leak. My hands shook as I dialed for help, but the door handle turned. Reign stood there. He didn't look at my face; he grabbed my wrist, pulling it to his nose, inhaling deeply. His dark, soulless eyes bore into mine. "You smell different," he whispered, his voice dangerously low. If he finds out what I really am, I’m dead.
Reign Montgomery promised himself he’d never get involved with an omega. Not romantically, not physically, not even by accident. He doesn’t trust them, doesn’t want them, and refuses to let anyone become a weakness.
Soren Fox has lived his whole life making sure no one ever learns what he truly is. An omega pretending to be a Beta, fighting in underground rings just to survive and keep his sister alive.
But one contract drags them into a dangerous partnership of lies, heat, and power, and when Soren is kidnapped, Reign realizes too late that the omega he never wanted has become the one person he can’t live without.
Chapter 1
It shouldn't be hard for a man who could crush me with one hand, but like the filthy, desperate omega I was, I didn't hesitate to get down and suck him off. He tasted like sin, and I was the fallen angel.
Back to when it all began.
There’s a fine line between being watched and being owned; Soren never thought he was ever going to cross that line, and honestly, one couldn't blame him when that man looked like he was wrapped in power, and Soren had always had a thing for bad decisions.
The noise inside the basement is ear-deafening, with sweaty men shouting, exchanging money, and placing their bets while the sound of fists hitting flesh echoes off the damp concrete walls.
The air smells of sweat and blood mixed with the smell of cheap beer and, of course, alphas.
In the ring, Soren Fox spits out the blood in his mouth and wipes his cracked lip with the back of his hand. His chest rises and falls hard as he steps back while his opponent lies on the ground, groaning, face swollen with blood, creating a small puddle over him.
Soren smirks, and then the referee raises his hand and announces loudly. “Our winner!”
And in an instant, the crowd cheers even louder, half for the fight, half for the money they just won betting on him.
And from the crowd, he hears someone shout. “The Beta fights like an Alpha!”
Soren's eyes immediately twitch at the words, and they hit him hard yet again.
You see, Soren Fox is a liar, and that lie has teeth. While the whole world thinks he's a fearless beta, he's just an Omega hiding behind suppressants and a scent patch, becoming something less breakable and untouchable.
Soren has learned two things in life and in the ring: never beg, and never be the first to bleed. For his sister’s next hospital bill and for another week of her medicine, Soren is going to continue this lie for the rest of his life.
Quickly, he climbs out of the ring, sweat sliding down his neck. He needs to get out of here before his sweet Omega scent starts leaking out.
In the locker room, he sits on the bench, his red hair falling over his face while his cold blue eyes stay fixed on his raw and split knuckles as he unwraps the piece of clothing wrapped around them. It's one of the rules of the underground boxing ring: no gloves.
Suddenly, the door of the locker room opens, and his best friend enters, instantly tossing him a towel.
“Nice fight.” Theo gives him two thumbs up and a smile that reveals a set of dimples on his face. “You were ruthless as always.”
Soren gives a small, tired laugh as he wipes the blood on his hands with the towel. “Anything to satisfy those greedy and unhappy alphas and have my money, I can be a monster.”
Theo chuckles and leans against the locker; he doesn't get to say anything before the door of the locker bursts open without warning, and the one who arranges all his matches enters. They call him the boss.
He has a big, proud smile on his face, and in his hand are three rolls of cash. He is dressed in fancy clothes, big diamonds, rings, and a pair of shades. He drops on the bench beside Soren and throws his hand over his shoulder.
“I knew you wouldn’t disappoint me, Fox. You have so many fans. This is their gratitude,” he grabs Soren’s hand and shoves one roll of cash.
Soren sharply turns his gaze to him. “This isn't what we agreed on.”
“Relax, pretty boy. Don’t start biting the hand that feeds you. That's all I have to spare, and besides, there's someone, a special guest, who's been watching you tonight. If you meet him, you will have millions in your pocket.”
Soren shoves the money in his pocket and rises to his feet. “I told you, I'm not a prostitute.”
He might be desperate for money, but he won't stoop so low as to sell his body to those disgusting, lustful alphas.
In a world where Omegas are seen as breeders and submissive whores that can't do without an alpha’s knot, Soren chooses to be a Beta.
He hisses and starts to head for the door, but the Boss suddenly blocks his path. “Get out of my way before I break your fucking teeth,” Soren grits through his teeth, his blue eyes blazing in anger.
The boss playfully raises his hands in surrender. “I know someone like me is no match for you. But he's already in my office and wants to see you. If you do this one favor for me, I'll pay you all that I owe you. Think about it, Fox, you will have enough money for your sister's medication. He just wants to talk to you and congratulate you on your win tonight.”
"Hey,” Theo finally steps forward; he grabs the boss by the shoulder and pulls him away. “He said he's not interested, fuck off.”
Soren clenches his jaw as he thinks about it. “It's only to talk, right?”
The boss breaks into a wide grin. “I swear on my mother's grave,”
Soren suddenly reaches out and grabs him by the collar of his million-dollar shirt and pulls him close, his blue eyes burning into his. “If I go in there and he tries shit, I'm going to bust his ass and come here and beat the shit out of you, and you better keep your promise, or you're dead. Got it?”
The boss nods his head eagerly while sporting a glint in his eyes and a predatory smile on his face. “Of course, you have my word, fox.”
Soren lets go of him with a rough push, throws his towel over his shoulder, and walks out of the locker room, with Theo following behind him.
He's going to see this special guest, and the boss better hope it's worth his fucking time.

He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.
Bonnie has spent her entire life being broken down and abused by the people closest to her including her very own twin sister. Alongside her best friend Lilly who also lives a life of hell, they plan to run away while attending the biggest ball of the year while it's being hosted by another pack, only things don't quite go to plan leaving both girls feeling lost and unsure about their futures.
Alpha Nicholas is 28, mateless, and has no plans to change that. It's his turn to host the annual Blue Moon Ball this year and the last thing he expects is to find his mate. What he expects even less is for his mate to be 10 years younger than him and how his body reacts to her. While he tries to refuse to acknowledge that he has met his mate his world is turned upside down after guards catch two she-wolves running through his lands.
Once they are brought to him he finds himself once again facing his mate and discovers that she's hiding secrets that will make him want to kill more than one person.
Can he overcome his feelings towards having a mate and one that is so much younger than him? Will his mate want him after already feeling the sting of his unofficial rejection? Can they both work on letting go of the past and moving forward together or will fate have different plans and keep them apart?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Shattered Girl
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. Was that too much?” I could see the worry in his eyes as I took a deep breath.
“I just didn’t want you to see all my scars,” I whispered, feeling ashamed of my marked body.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...
