Skylar · Ongoing · 60.9k Words
Introduction
I hit him on the head, ended up in the emergency room, had a high fever, and nearly died in the blizzard—
Later, I found out that just half an hour before my grandmother went into surgery, he took the only doctor who could save her to rescue his beloved.
At that moment, I finally understood that the man I loved for the past five years was never worth it.
Chapter 1
The grand doors slowly swung open, and Olivia Smith stepped onto the red carpet in an elegant black evening gown, stunningly beautiful.
Whether in terms of the grand entrance or her outfit, she should have been the star of the evening. Unfortunately, the real star didn't need these things to shine—she only needed to win one person's favor.
On the circular platform in the center of the banquet hall stood her husband, Nicholas Jackson, noble and elegant. He raised his hand and took another woman's hand in his palm.
They stood side by side as countless camera flashes focused on them. Nicholas, who was usually low-key and camera-shy, kept smiling the entire time. His arm even gently lifted on its own, making it more comfortable for the woman beside him to hold onto.
This glaring scene made Olivia freeze in her tracks, her heart clenching painfully.
Nicholas was always careful in everything he did. If he wanted to publicly announce his mistress, he could have easily spared her from attending such an occasion.
Yet now he was openly displaying his mistress right in front of her.
She couldn't help but think sarcastically—when did he start hating her this much?
"Seems like she's the real Mrs. Jackson, though she's definitely not as young as the lady on stage."
"Look at her expression. Do you think she'll go up there and make a scene, or run away crying?"
"Mrs. Jackson used to be from a wealthy family too, but her family fell on hard times... She probably won't lose it too badly."
Whispers drifted into Olivia's ears, then quickly faded away.
Some felt sorry for her, others said she didn't deserve her position, but most people were just here for the gossip, wanting to see her humiliated.
Camera lenses were practically shoved in her face, the flashes blindingly bright, but Olivia didn't dare close her eyes or shed tears. She didn't even dare grip her dress too tightly.
As Nicholas's wife, even if Nicholas and his mistress were intimate right in front of her, she had to maintain her composure.
Across the crowd, she locked eyes with Nicholas.
He wasn't surprised, much less guilty. His gaze swept over her and slid away, as if she were just some insignificant person.
The MC stepped onto the stage holding a tray with both hands.
On the tray, resting on red velvet, was a ruby necklace. The teardrop-shaped ruby was vivid in color and highly clear, surrounded by a circle of small diamonds.
"This necklace has been in the Jackson family for over a hundred years. I'm presenting it to Ms. Alice Baker today."
Nicholas lifted the necklace with both hands and personally placed it around Alice's neck. As he looked down, his expression was incredibly tender.
Olivia had never seen such an expression on his face—at least he had never looked at her that way.
"This is too precious, I can't accept it..."
Alice said this, but her body was very cooperative. She lifted her long hair to make it easier for Nicholas to put the necklace on her.
The diamond-studded red gown she wore was particularly dazzling.
Olivia remembered seeing it on the sample catalog from a haute couture brand a few days ago. She had even mentioned it to Nicholas, saying the dress was beautiful—no wonder it was so expensive.
Today, that dress was on Alice's body.
Nicholas said warmly, "This is a blessing for our future collaboration. I hope it's worthy of Ms. Baker's radiance."
"The Jackson Group will be entering the entertainment industry. Ms. Baker is the first artist we're partnering with, and she also represents the Baker Group's investment in this collaboration."
Immediately, envious voices and congratulations filled the air. The necklace sparkled brilliantly on Alice's neck.
Olivia watched numbly, her expression barely changing.
She was no longer the girl who would sob over Nicholas, getting drunk and standing in the rain on cold nights.
After five years of marriage, his indifference toward her had completely worn away whatever love she'd had for him.
So she became increasingly composed, appearing gracious in front of others, handling even the most awkward situations with poise.
Because of this, Nicholas's grandmother, Gwendolyn Jackson, was particularly pleased with her, saying she had matured a lot. At the last family dinner, Gwendolyn even brought out a family heirloom ruby necklace, saying she wanted to give it to her.
She declined twice, but unexpectedly Nicholas accepted it on her behalf, saying he would host a banquet for their fifth wedding anniversary, and he would personally put it on her then.
And now, this ruby necklace has been given to Alice.
Olivia lifted her dress and walked toward the refreshment table.
Along the way, she received countless mocking looks and snide remarks.
High society was like this—survival of the fittest. Without Nicholas as her backing, the moment he showed he didn't favor her, countless people dared to step on her.
Olivia took a glass of orange juice and spent ten minutes drinking half of it before leaving.
If she left immediately, tomorrow's headline would be "Mrs. Jackson storms out in anger." If she took champagne, it would be "Mrs. Jackson drowns her sorrows in alcohol." And if she dared eat a piece of cake...
It would be "Mrs. Jackson binge-eating due to heartbreak."
Just like all the previous times the media smeared her, ridiculous rumors would fly everywhere, and she could only bear it alone.
Even though the Jackson Group had the most powerful PR team in all of Harmony City, Nicholas wouldn't have them help her.
When the bedroom door opened, Olivia had already showered. She was lying on the bed with a face mask on, playing with her phone.
She lifted her eyelids to look at Nicholas, who had just returned, her tone flat: "I thought you wouldn't come home tonight."
After such a grand and romantic ceremony, shouldn't he be spending the night with Alice?
Nicholas wasn't surprised by her attitude. He went ahead and removed his tie, tossing his suit jacket aside casually: "Jealous?"
"No." Olivia genuinely wasn't jealous.
She didn't love him anymore—how could she be jealous?
Nicholas didn't believe her: "You know how important this partnership is. Whether the Jackson Group can successfully transform depends on this. The Baker Group has experience and strength in the entertainment industry—I have to make use of that."
Olivia just found it laughable: "To make Mr. Jackson sell himself for success—Alice really is the first person in all of Harmony City to achieve that."
"Olivia." Nicholas's expression darkened immediately.
In front of others, he always wore dark suits, noble and distant. Only Olivia knew how wild Nicholas could be in bed.
Two buttons of his shirt had been undone, revealing his muscular chest. He reached out and ripped off Olivia's face mask, tossing it directly into the trash.
"That face mask was expensive!" Olivia cried out.
Naturally, Nicholas ignored her. Gripping her chin, he pressed her down beneath him: "Selling myself for success? Olivia, you have the nerve to use those words?"
Olivia's eyes reddened.
If she hadn't been trying to save her father back then, she wouldn't have begged to marry Nicholas.
But if Nicholas hadn't shown her kindness, making her mistakenly believe he had feelings for her too, no matter how shameless she was, she wouldn't have asked him to marry her.
"All these years, I've given you everything I should. What more do you want?"
Nicholas's brow showed a hint of impatience. His large hand gripped her jaw, his thumb pressing on her delicate red lips: "You want a child too, don't you?"
He laughed lightly: "No problem, I can give you one, just like your family keeps telling you."
Only by having a son could Olivia's position as Nicholas's wife be truly secure.
But ever since realizing Nicholas didn't love her, she had never thought about having a child with him.
Before she could respond, his large hand easily tore open Olivia's robe and moved downward.
"Don't touch me!" She pushed him hard.
But her hands were immediately pinned above her head. Her slender wrists were held by his one large hand, and she couldn't break free no matter how hard she tried.
In desperation, Olivia steeled herself and bent her knee, using all her strength to jab it into Nicholas's abdomen.
Caught off guard, he sucked in a sharp breath of pain and finally let her go.
Olivia immediately wrapped her robe tightly and got off the bed, putting three steps of distance between them.
"Nicholas, I don't want a child."
Her tone was cold, serious, and earnest.
"I want a divorce."

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

As a ballet dancer, My life looks perfect—scholarship, starring role, sweet boyfriend Tyler. Until Tyler shows his true colors and his older brother, Asher, comes home.
Asher is a Navy veteran with battle scars and zero patience. He calls me "princess" like it's an insult. I can't stand him.
When My ankle injury forces her to recover at the family lake house, I‘m stuck with both brothers. What starts as mutual hatred slowly turns into something forbidden.
I'm falling for my boyfriend's brother.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.

Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
Aphrodite and the Cursed Mate Bond
She finds truth.
Aphrodite is not human at all. She is a rare white wolf, descended from an ancient Direwolf bloodline long believed extinct. The ritual meant to sever her ties awakens her wolf instead and with it comes the scent of five mates bound to her by fate.
The Alpha twins who once scorned her now cannot stay away. A human hunter walks beside her and proves that strength is not born of fangs or dominance. A cursed Wolf King holds the key to her past and her father’s imprisonment. And watching from the shadows is one who was never meant to interfere at all.
As gods fall, packs fracture, and war reshapes the world, Aphrodite must decide what destiny truly means. Is it submission to fate or the courage to choose her own path.
Love does not come in one form. Neither does power.
In a world ruled by gods and wolves, Aphrodite will become something neither ever expected.
Not a queen.
But the axis upon which the world turns.
HER ALPHA, HER SAVIOUR
Kane Hellboud, charm and wealth personified, wanted only me in exchange for her treatment. No cameras, isolation, or noose-like rules were part of the deal. Behind his smile? Cold, violent possessiveness that destroyed our fake marriage.
Most of all, I didn’t know the supernatural walked among us, hiding in the cracks of ordinary life. Not until Abel Stone stepped into mine—dark-eyed, sharp-tongued, and oozing dangerous promises. He’s my new boss. He shouldn’t make my skin tingle or my pulse race. I shouldn’t feel this primal pull, this illogical recognition that tugs at something deep in my bones.
Around him, lights burst, electronics fry, and something ancient in me awakens.
Kane feels it. His grip tightens, punishments turn brutal, and he hides the truth of what I am.
Trapped between two powerful men, I’m no prey, no pawn—no helpless victim.
Prisons burn. Monsters bleed. As for me? I'm the storm in skin—deadly beyond suspicion.
The CEO's Unspoken Love
Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.
"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.
My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.
My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...
Three years ago, to fulfill the wish of his grandmother, I was forced to marry Derek Wells, the second son of the family that had adopted me for ten years. He didn't love me, but I had secretly loved him all along.
Now, the three-year contractual marriage is about to end, but I feel that some kind of sentiment has developed between Derek and me that neither of us is willing to admit. I'm not sure if my feelings are right, but I know that we can't resist each other physically...
