My Fiancé Abandoned Me for His Childhood Sweetheart Before Our Wedding
Chau · Completed · 7.7k Words
Introduction
But twenty minutes before our wedding started, he decided to help his childhood sweetheart move, leaving me alone at the venue.
He said, "Sophia, you're strong enough; you don't need anyone to protect you."
So I tossed my veil aside and called off the wedding.
Alexander thought I'd come crawling back, even threatened to blacklist me.
But he didn't know that as I was leaving the wedding, my former coach suddenly called out to me, asking if I wanted to chase that championship again.
Chapter 1
My wedding with Alexander was just an hour away when his childhood friend, Amelia Martinez, called.
"I can't keep bothering you guys. I've decided to move out today... Alexander, congratulations on your wedding."
Alexander's voice was urgent. "Amelia, don't be impulsive! Your depression just stabilized. Moving by yourself could go wrong!"
"It's okay, it's just moving. I can handle it alone."
Alexander glanced at me and paced back and forth anxiously. "Wait a bit longer. I'll arrange a moving company for you."
After he hung up, I asked calmly, "Amelia's moving?"
"Yeah." Alexander rubbed his forehead. "I'll have my assistant handle it."
He assured me repeatedly. "Sophia, don't worry. Today is our wedding. Nothing is more important than you."
I said nothing, just watched him through the mirror.
Ever since that call, he'd become completely anxious.
I can't say for sure that if Amelia called again, he wouldn't just bolt.
After all, he'd abandoned me more than once for her.
I could only hope that he still had enough sense to understand this was our wedding.
Thirty minutes, Amelia made that second call.
Alexander hesitated for a full five seconds before answering.
A heated argument came through the phone.
"Don't touch that box! Those are my mom's belongings! You can't take them!"
"Cut the crap! Get your man to pay up! You owe five grand in deposit and think you can just bail? Stop playing the victim!"
Alexander's face instantly darkened. "Stop! Who are you people?!"
Amelia's breakdown came through the phone: "Alexander, the people you arranged said they'd take two hours to arrive. I was afraid of delaying your wedding, so I found someone myself... They want to take the box my mom left me..."
"Where are you?! I'm coming now!" Alexander spun around and rushed toward the emergency exit.
"Alexander!"
I caught up in a few quick steps and blocked him just before he pushed the door open.
"Where are you going?"
"Amelia's trapped by a scam moving company!" Alexander's eyes were bloodshot, sweat covering his forehead. "Those people are thugs. She can't handle them alone!"
"She can call the police, get property management involved, even have the cops deal with it." I looked at him coldly. "But right now, our wedding starts in twenty minutes."
"I know, but Sophia, this is a matter of life and death! Amelia's terrified right now. She just lost her family, and now this happens—she'll break down!"
I looked straight into his eyes. "So what?"
Alexander froze, then showed an expression of disbelief. "Sophia, when did you get so heartless? You're a world champ. You've got the mental toughness. What haven't you seen on the competition floor? But Amelia's different. She's fragile. I'm all she's got!"
My heart felt like it had been stabbed. Hard.
Last year, I'd just won the gold medal at the World Fencing Championships. I was in my prime, yet I retired without hesitation for Alexander.
And now, the medal and glory I was so proud of had become his excuse to abandon me.
"Do you even realize today is our wedding?"
He closed his eyes, pain and determination flashing across his face. "I promise I'll be back in an hour. Get the MC to hold off for a bit."
He was still going.
Trembling, I said, "Alexander, if you walk out that door right now, we don't need to have this wedding."
Alexander's steps paused, but he only said, "We'll talk when I get back."
He pushed me aside, pulled open the door, and rushed out without looking back.
I took a deep breath, feeling the absurdity of it all.
I turned around, walked alone to the banquet hall, and turned on the stage microphone.
"Dear friends and family."
My voice carried clearly through the speakers to every corner.
"I'm very sorry, but today's wedding cannot continue."
"Just now, my groom, Mr. Garcia, left the wedding to take care of his fragile, helpless childhood friend."
The crowd immediately erupted in discussion. Alexander's father stood up with a dark expression, seeming ready to rush the stage and stop me.
I didn't give him the chance. My voice remained steady and firm. "So I'm announcing publicly now—"
"I'm canceling the wedding and ending all engagement with Mr. Garcia. From now on, we go our separate ways."
With that, I removed my veil and threw it on the stage.
I walked through the chaotic crowd, about to leave.
A low voice called out to me: "Sophia."

Letters to a Dark Prince
Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.
Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
