Introduction
While the real heiress struggled to survive, the nanny’s daughter, Talia, was raised in luxury as the beloved jewel of the Laurent family, pampered by Camille’s parents, adored by her three brothers, and even promised to the prestigious Matteo Devereux through a childhood engagement arranged by their grandparents.
Then the truth came out.
Six months ago, Camille was finally brought back to the Laurent family. To protect the family reputation and prove their devotion to their bloodline, the Laurent patriarch transferred 35% of his personal shares into Camille’s name overnight, instantly making her one of the wealthiest heiresses in the country.
It brought anxiety to all the Laurent family. But what they don’t know…is that Camille never needed them.
Behind her elegant smile lies a woman filled with secrets powerful enough to shake the whole family. She's a miraculous healer capable of curing the incurable poisons.
Yet despite everything, her family still chooses Talia.
Every accusation against Talia is forgiven. Every scheme against Camille is brushed aside. Even Matteo, the man who was supposed to be Camille’s fiancé—cannot let go of the woman he always believed belonged by his side.
But while the Laurent family underestimates Camille, another man begins to see exactly who she is.
Dante Moretti.
The ruthless heir of an old-money dynasty. A billionaire CEO worshipped by the public…and the merciless king of a criminal empire hidden beneath the city’s glittering surface. When Dante is poisoned by a rival syndicate with a deadly toxin no doctor can cure, he offers a fortune for anyone who can save him.
Only Camille can. Their deal is simple: she becomes his personal physician, and he gives her anything she wants.
Chapter 1
Camille Laurent, whose wrists were bound tightly with coarse rope, was kneeling on the cold floor beside her supposed sister, Talia.
It had been hours since the kidnappers had dragged them here. Camille squeezed her eyes shut in fear as she heard the demands echoing through the phone lines back to the Laurent family who were standing outside the door.
Camille's heart pounded in her chest. She was no stranger to hardship. She was abandoned at birth in the wilds of the countryside. But maybe luck was on her side. She was found by a kind-hearted man who also became her teacher later.
She was an orphan but her teacher never discriminated against her. Life was just getting back on track.
But six months ago, everything changed. The Laurent family, one of the city's most powerful elites, suddenly discovered a truth. That Camille was their biological daughter who was swapped at birth by the family nanny and replaced her own child, Talia, in Camille's rightful place.
The revelation came during a crisis. Their grandfather, Elias Laurent, who was dying, needed a blood transfusion. Nobody's blood matched. However, that left the family with a shocking truth. Talia's blood didn't match any of the family members.
Upon the DNA tests which were ordered by the grandfather himself, it turned out that Talia wasn't their biological daughter.
The grandfather ordered to find his real granddaughter then and there. No one could reject the patriarch’s order. So many teams and investigators got into the job to find the real heiress.
They were successful. Camille was pulled from her simple life and thrust into a world of mansions, cutthroat expectations, and a family that viewed her as an interloper.
Talia was always considered the golden child for twenty years. So when she heard that they found the real daughter she didn't take kindly to the intrusion.
She didn't welcome Camille at all. And to destroy Camille’s reputation in front of the whole family, she schemed against Camille until the whole family started to hate the ungrateful real daughter.
And each time, the family sided with Talia. Her three older brothers, Lucien, Raoul, and Etienne who had always doted on her like a fragile porcelain doll, always believed and sided with her.
Now, this kidnapping. Camille had no idea who kidnapped her. They also took Talia with her though she had no idea why they kidnapped them both. What do they want from them?
"Time's up! We will kill your sister!” one of the kidnappers growled at our brothers.
“No! We bought the money you asked for!” Lucien, the elder brother yelled in panic.
“Very good,” The other kidnapper laughed. “But two millions were for one girl. Now which one do you want?”
Talia, her blonde hair disheveled but her makeup somehow intact, burst into hysterics. "Please! Don't do this! Save us both! I beg you! I'm so scared!"
Her screams pierced the air, tears streaming down her cheeks as she twisted against the rope she was tied to. Camille said nothing because she had nothing to say or plead. She wept silently.
Betrayal was an old wound for her, but this? This was a fresh laceration. She could hear the family's voices filtering in through the slightly ajar warehouse door, carried on the chill evening breeze.
Outside, under the flickering sodium lights of the parking lot, Lucien, the eldest brother at 28, clutched the duffel bag of cash. His face was a mask of fury, but his words betrayed his priorities.
"We will save Talia. She's family, our sister in every way that matters. Camille...she's tough. She grew up on the streets. She'll understand. We can't risk losing the one we've always known."
Raoul, the hot-headed middle brother, nodded fiercely. "Damn right. Talia's been with us through everything. Camille's a stranger who just showed up out of nowhere. If it comes to it, we pay for Talia and get out."
Etienne, the youngest at 24 and usually the softest, hesitated but ultimately agreed. "I agree as well. If Camille is lucky maybe we will meet again.”
Camille's world shattered further. She pressed her ear closer to the door as she heard all her brothers choosing the fake sister. All her hopes died at that moment.
And so, her brothers, who were fiercely protective of Talia, abandoned her without a second thought. No pleas for her safety, no mention of her name beyond dismissal. And Matteo, who was supposed to be her fiancé, didn't even protest. Her silent tears turned to choked sobs, but she bit her lip to stifle them.
In that moment, the fragile hope she'd nurtured these past six months crumbled to dust. She was invisible, unwanted, a placeholder in a life stolen from her.
The kidnapper yanked the door open wider, smirking. "Heard that, princess? Your family's picking the fake one."
Talia's screams quieted into whimpers, but Camille caught it, a fleeting glint in her eyes. Triumph, sharp as a blade, masked by feigned concern.
As the family approached with the money, Talia called out, her voice trembling with false sincerity, "Wait! We have to save Camille too! Please, don't leave her!"
The kidnappers let the brothers and Matteo in with the money. Camille turned her gaze to Matteo, her eyes pleading silently across the threshold. But he was staring at Talia. He ignored Camille completely, stepping forward to hand over the bag.
The exchange happened quickly. The kidnappers untied Talia first, shoving her toward the family.
Lucien enveloped her in a bear hug. "Talia, oh God, you're safe. We were so worried."
Raoul fussed over her wrists, rubbing them gently. "Those bastards, we'll make them pay. Come on, let's get you out of here."
Etienne draped his jacket over her shoulders. "It's okay now, sis. We've got you."
Matteo pulled her close, his hand lingering on her back. "I couldn't bear it if anything happened to you."
Not one glance for Camille. She remained bound, kneeling in the shadows with a hollow ache in her heart. Talia shot her a quick look, lips insisting rescue for both, but eyes gleaming with victory.
It hit Camille like lightning, this wasn't random. The past six months flashed before her, all the "accidents," the setups, the constant isolation. Talia had staged this, just as she'd poisoned the well against Camille at every turn.
As the family whisked Talia away, their voices faded into the night. Camille was left with the remaining kidnappers, one of them was a wiry man with a leering grin and tattoos snaking up his arms.
He circled her like a predator, chuckling. "Looks like you're the disposable one, huh? Your family doesn't want you. But hey, I can have some fun first."
He grabbed her chin roughly, forcing her to look at him. "Your sister's a smart one, she paid us extra to make sure you don't walk out of here. Said you're a problem that needs fixing. Permanent-like."
Camille's blood ran cold. So it was really Talia’s doing. Rage and despair warred within her.
“Let me go! No! Don't touch me!” But bound and helpless, she couldn't fight him.
The kidnapper's hands tore at her top, his breath hot and foul against her neck. "Scream all you want, no one's coming for you. The more you scream, the more fun it will be.”
In that abyss, Camille's resolve hardened. Better death on her terms than this violation. She twisted hard against him, slamming her head toward the concrete wall behind her. The impact would be fatal, stars exploded in her vision as her temple met the surface.
But the blow never fully landed. A deafening gunshot shattered the air! The kidnapper staggered back, clutching his shoulder, blood blooming through his shirt.
"What the—?"
Over a dozen black-clad figures burst through the warehouse doors. They encircled the kidnapper in seconds, guns trained on him.
He dropped to his knees, cursing. "You sons of bitches! This ain't your business! Who the fuck are you?”
From the chaos emerged a tall and commanding figure. It was Dante Moretti, making the kidnapper’s eyes go wide in fear. Because who doesn't know Dante Moretti in this field of work?
At 32, he was a legend in the underworld, a ruthless enforcer for the city's syndicates, his dark hair cropped short, his steel-gray eyes cold as gunmetal. Clad in a fitted black coat over tactical gear, he exuded detached menace. He'd been in the area tracking a traitor who'd double-crossed his organization, a low-level operative skimming profits.
He did not care about strangers. Did not care about innocent victims. Human suffering rarely moved him. But then, as he passed the warehouse earlier, he had caught a brief glimpse through the broken window.
A young woman is tied to a chair. Terrified, yet strangely resolute. Even in despair, there had been something unyielding in her eyes. Something hauntingly familiar.
And before he realized it, he had stopped walking. Now his cold gaze landed on Camille. Blood stained her lips, and tears covered her face. Yet despite everything, she was glaring at the kidnapper with pure hatred instead of begging for mercy.
Interesting.
The kidnapper suddenly dropped to his knees.
“M-Mr. Moretti, we didn’t know—”
BANG!
Another shot rang out.
The bullet pierced the man’s shoulder instantly. His scream echoed through the warehouse.
Dante lowered the gun calmly. “I dislike noise.”
The entire room fell deathly silent.
Camille stared at him weakly through blurred vision.
Dante walked toward her slowly. The closer he came, the more overwhelming his presence felt.
His sharp eyes scanned the bruises around her wrists and her split lip. The tears she stubbornly tried not to shed anymore.
“Who did this to you?” he asked quietly.
The simple question nearly destroyed Camille completely.
Because tonight, for the very first time.
Someone had finally looked at her.

I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.
