Introduction
At the heart of the chaos is Adelyn, Ethan’s radiant fiancée, whose charm and beauty draw people in with ease. She is magnetic, enigmatic, and calculating — and quickly notices the vulnerability of Ethan’s younger brother, Lucas. Unlike Ethan, who is admired and envied, Lucas lives in his shadow, bitter and insecure. Adelyn subtly begins to exploit those insecurities, offering comfort while planting seeds of doubt about his brother, his parents, and even himself.
As the investigation unfolds, the Chambers are forced into close quarters, their public façade collapsing under private turmoil. Margaret, the image-obsessed matriarch, suspects Ethan’s temper, while Lucas is slowly entangled in Adelyn’s quiet manipulations. Every interaction blurs the line between truth and perception, until no one — not even Ethan — is certain of what really happened.
The story is an exploration of jealousy, control, and deception, showing how a single charismatic force can unravel a family already teetering on fracture. It blends gothic intrigue with modern psychological suspense, building toward inevitable betrayal, shocking twists, and a cliffhanger that leaves the reader questioning how much of the Chambers’ downfall was fate — and how much was Adelyn’s design
Chapter 1
“Hello, My name is Ethan Chambers and I am an alcoholic.”
“hello Ethan.” Came the chorus reply from the alcoholics anonymous group.
“I uh… have been sober for two years.” Wilas smiled as tapped his fingers on the wooden stand before exhaling, “I don’t know what to say. A few years ago I never even thought I had a problem and my life was headed down the drain without me even knowing it..” he smiled tightly, “Today I am two years sober and recently engaged to the love of my life. Thank you for the support… especially to my sponsor.” He looked at his sponsor who nodded with a sweet smile.
“Thank you.” Ethan nodded and the rest occf the members of alcoholic anonymous clapped as he got the 2 years sober badge.
The curly haired Ethan, climbed down the stairs and sat in his position as someone else walked up.
“Congratulations Ethan.” The man next to him leaned towards him and he smirked.
“I would have thanked you too, Jonathan…I wanted to.”
“I would have murdered you. This is your recovery. Not mine.” Jonathan shook his head and combed his peppered hair back. He was not much older than Ethan considering they had been classmates but he looked significantly older which he attributed to the stress his job so freely gave him.
The session finished rather quickly and they headed out with a stale cookie in hand, “When is your celebration? You’re encroaching on one year aren’t you?” Ethan asked.
“uh… one month actually.” Jonathan replied, guilt etched on his face.
“Okay…” Ethan nodded, biting into the cookie with a grimace, “They just don’t let these go to the trash do they?”
“you can say you’re disappointed Ethan, It isn’t unbecoming to be honest.” Jonathan rolled his eyes, tossing the cookie in the trash can they passed by.
“It’s unbecoming to be unencouraging.” Ethan replied with a raised brow and bit a part of the cookie
“Is it unbecoming to spit the cookie that you clearly don’t like too?”
“Evidently.” Ethan swallowed with a grimace, “Anyway… I uh need to tell you something.”
Jonathan looked at him expectantly and nodded, “Tell me.”
“I proposed to Adelyn…” A tint of red sparked in his cheeks as a large smile crossed Jonathan’s face.
“did she say yes?”
“She did… why else would I smile while telling you.”
“You lucky bastard!” He exclaimed and hugged Ethan, “Congratulations! Wow…. You’re going to get married.”
Ethan nodded with a growing smile, “I’m going to get married… and uh, I have to tell my mother.”
“Oh.” The smile disappeared from both their faces and it seemed like the weather had dulled nearly immediately, “H.. how are you going to do it?”
“Over dinner tonight.” He shrugged, “Adelyn is dreading it.”
“Adelyn isn’t alone.” Jonathan scoffed, “ your mother is terrifying… I pity Adelyn. Tell her I said so.”
“I will.” He nodded and sighed, “It’s going to be a shit show.

He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

Shattered Girl
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. Was that too much?” I could see the worry in his eyes as I took a deep breath.
“I just didn’t want you to see all my scars,” I whispered, feeling ashamed of my marked body.
Emmy Nichols is used to surviving. She survived her abusive father for years until he beat her so severely, she ended up in the hospital, and her father was finally arrested. Now, Emmy is thrown into a life she never expected. Now she has a mother

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...
