My twin sister, Genevieve, caught the eye of a mafia don, Kael Rourke, at a charity gala.

Kael declared on the spot that she would be his wife, the donna of Rourke family.

But she was already deeply in love with her boyfriend, Lior Hale.

When a ambush left the Kael in a deep coma, his cartel demanded their bride immediately.

Since I was forced into this marriage against my will, I resented him and never gave him a smile.

Taking advantage of a visit, Genevieve tightly wrapped a iron chain around my neck.

"I'm sorry, dear sister. If you don't die, my lies will be exposed one day!"

I was strangled to death, my eyes wide open in bitter resentment as I took my last breath.

When I open my eyes again, I am back to the day the Rourke men came to collect the bride.

I step forward willingly. "Genevieve, go with your boyfriend. I will marry Kael Rourke in your place!"

"Mom, Dad, save me! I don't want to marry a vegetable!"

Genevieve's loud sobs ring in my ears. I jolt awake, reality crashing into me. I have been reborn.

"The Rourke family is ruthless! They say Kael is a monster who has tortured people to death. Now he's in a coma. If I marry him, my life is over!"

Genevieve cries, clutching our mother's arm. "Besides, I swore I'd only marry Lior. If I can't be with him, I'd rather die!"

Mrs. Moore's voice trembles with panic. "But we can't afford to offend the Rourke mafia! If you don't go, our whole family is doomed!"

Mr. Moore wipes his sweaty forehead. "It's my fault. I can't protect my own daughter. Let them kill me! Once there's a body, maybe they'll back off."

"Are you out of your mind?!" Mrs. Moore snaps. "He's Kael Rourke, the don of the Irish-Italian mafia! Your life means nothing to them!"

Before Genevieve can say another word, I step forward.

"Genevieve, you can leave with your boyfriend. I will take your place and marry Kael!"

My entire family stares at me in shock. Genevieve's eyes are wide, almost bulging out of her head.

"We are identical twins," I say calmly. "We have the exact same face. If I go in your place, the Rourke family won't notice a thing."

My mother hesitates, though relief washes over her face. "It's good that you're willing to go, Seraphina. But Kael is so powerful. Can we really hide this forever?"

"If he finds out, he won't let us off easily," she mutters.

My father quickly makes up his mind. "Genevieve, you need to leave right now. I'll give you the half a million dollars I've saved up."

"You and Lior can go to Australia. The Rourke family's reach shouldn't go that far."

Neither of my parents shows an ounce of worry for me marrying into a brutal mafia family. 

Their eyes are full of love and concern only for their precious younger daughter.

As for me, the older sister, I have always been the disposable one.

Genevieve pretends to think for a moment. "Mom, Dad, why don't we just stage a fake funeral?"

"We can tell everyone Seraphina slipped, fell into a lake, and drowned. That way, our family suddenly disappearing a daughter won't look suspicious."

My parents agree immediately to her plan. 

They quickly pack a small bag for me, pushing me out the door of our home.

Outside, Kael's men are already waiting in a line of black SUVs, ready to take the bride away.
