Introduction
I ran, far from Kael and his cruel world, to protect myself and my quadruplets. I built a life in secrecy, vowing never to let him or any Alpha dictate my fate again. But time has a cruel way of dredging up the past, and now Kael has found us. He wants what he once rejected: me and our children.
Can I trust him? Can I give a second chance to the man who shattered me? Or will I fight to the end to keep my children free of his control? One thing is certain: I am no longer the fragile she-wolf he dismissed. This time, the story ends on my terms.
Chapter 1
Flashback: The First Night
The full moon filtered through the treetops, bathing the forest in a silvery glow that felt almost magical. The air was cold, but it carried something I couldn’t quite place. It was as if the night itself was alive, whispering secrets I couldn’t understand.
I shouldn’t have been here. I knew that. My pack would be furious if they found out I had left our territory without permission. But I needed a moment alone. The constant pressure to prove my worth, to show that I belonged in a pack that barely noticed me, was suffocating.
As I walked along the trail, lost in my thoughts, something made me stop abruptly. A scent. Strong, woodsy, and tinged with mint, so distinct it made my wolf stir inside me. My body froze, and for a moment, I considered turning back. But something—an unexplainable force—pushed me forward.
And that’s when I saw him.
He stood at the edge of a small river, hands in his pockets, as if lost in thought. Even from a distance, I could feel his presence. It was overwhelming, almost suffocating. My heart raced, and my instincts told me he wasn’t just any wolf.
Before I could decide what to do, he turned around.
“Who’s there?” His voice cut through the silence, deep and authoritative, but not hostile.
My breath caught for a moment, but forcing my feet to move, I stepped out from behind the trees. “Just someone enjoying the night,” I replied, my voice steadier than I expected.
He studied me for a moment, his eyes scanning me as if assessing every detail. There was something intense in his gaze, something that made me feel like he could see straight through me. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said finally, crossing his arms.
“Neither should you,” I shot back before thinking, immediately regretting it.
To my surprise, he smiled. A small, almost imperceptible smile, but it stirred something inside me. “Bold,” he commented, tilting his head slightly. “Or reckless.”
“Depends on your perspective,” I said, trying to ignore the heat rising to my face.
“You know who I am?” He took a step toward me, and my heart skipped a beat.
“Kael,” I said, the name slipping out before I even realized I knew it. He was the Alpha of the largest pack in the region. His name was spoken with both respect and fear, but seeing him here, so close, was unlike any story I’d ever heard.
“And you are?” he asked, his voice lower now, almost curious.
“Ayla.”
He repeated my name, almost as if testing it, and something in the way he said it made my wolf stir again. The tension in the air was palpable, and every nerve in my body seemed to be on high alert.
“Do you feel that?” I asked without thinking, the words escaping before I could stop them.
Kael was silent for a moment, but his eyes glimmered as if he knew exactly what I was talking about. He took another step toward me, and suddenly, the space between us felt insignificant.
“I do,” he admitted, his voice rough.
The air between us seemed to vibrate, as if something invisible was pulling us closer. When he reached out and touched my face, a shock ran through my skin. It was impossible to describe, but it was intense—something that burned and soothed at the same time.
I should have pulled away, but I couldn’t. When he tilted his head, our breaths mingled, and before I could think of a reason to stop, his lips were on mine.
The kiss was intense, desperate, as if we were both trying to find something in each other we didn’t know we needed. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me closer, and I lost myself in him. The world disappeared, leaving only us, connected by something that felt bigger than both of us.
That night, I gave myself to him. There were no questions, no promises. Just the moment, the feeling, the need.
When the sun began to rise on the horizon, I woke up alone.
Months Later
The sound of laughter and music filled the air as I entered Kael's territory. It was a night of celebration, a display of the pack's strength and unity. Torches lit the pathways, and the scent of roasted meat and wine overwhelmed my senses, but I couldn’t feel like I belonged.
I didn’t belong here. I knew that the moment I set foot on his land, but the bond I felt that night in the forest wouldn’t let me forget. He was my fated mate, and now I was here, summoned by Kael himself. Perhaps, finally, he would acknowledge what we shared. Perhaps there was a place for me by his side.
But as I approached the grand hall, my optimism wavered. Wolves from his pack stopped their conversations as I walked by. Their gazes were heavy with suspicion and judgment. I was an outsider, and they wanted to make sure I knew it.
When I stepped into the hall, the feeling only worsened. The sound of chatter and music died as every eye turned toward me. In the center, Kael stood tall, surrounded by members of his pack. He looked more imposing than ever, his shoulders tense and his dark eyes fixed on me.
I took a deep breath, trying to ignore the weight of the silence. I walked toward him, forcing myself to keep my head high, even as my palms sweated and my heart raced wildly.
“Ayla,” Kael said, his deep voice breaking the silence.
“Kael.” I inclined my head slightly, my voice steadier than I expected.
He studied me for a long moment, as if trying to decide what to do with me. “So, you’re the she-wolf the fates chose for me?”
“You know I am,” I replied, my heart pounding in my chest.
A murmur rippled through the crowd, but Kael didn’t seem to care. He stepped closer, and for a moment, I thought he might reach for me. But he stopped, his eyes hard and his stance rigid.
“You’re from another pack, Ayla,” he said, his voice cold. “A smaller, weaker pack that has nothing to offer mine. Why should I accept you as my Luna?”
The question caught me off guard. My chest tightened, and my wolf howled in protest, but I stood my ground. “The bond...” I began, but he cut me off.
“The bond doesn’t change the fact that you don’t belong here,” he declared, his tone sharp. “I’m an Alpha. I need a Luna who will strengthen my pack, not an outsider who will bring nothing but weakness.”
His words hit me like a blow, knocking the air from my lungs. I knew he was harsh, but I wasn’t prepared for such cruelty.
“Do you feel nothing?” I asked, my voice trembling. “Don’t you feel what I feel?”
Kael hesitated for a brief moment, something flickering in his eyes before his expression hardened again. “What I feel doesn’t matter. My pack comes first, and you are not what they need.”
The hall fell silent, and my breath caught in my throat. He was rejecting me. After everything that happened, after that night… he was discarding me.
“So that’s it,” I whispered, struggling to keep my voice steady. “You’re rejecting me?”
“Yes,” he said, the word firm and unyielding. “I reject you, Ayla. Leave and don’t come back.”
The world around me crumbled. My bond with Kael began to tear, and the pain was indescribable, like a piece of my soul being ripped away.
“If that’s what you want,” I managed to say, my voice shaking but determined, “then I accept your rejection.”
I turned before he could respond, before the tears threatening to spill could fall. Every step I took felt like a battle, but I refused to falter. I refused to let him see me break.
When I finally reached the forest, my mask shattered. Tears streamed down my face as I fell to my knees, my hands trembling against the earth. The pain of rejection was unbearable, as if something inside me was shattering beyond repair.
“Why?” I whispered into the night, my voice broken. “Why would the fates give me a mate who doesn’t want me?”
The silence was my only answer, until something changed. A soft warmth began to emanate from within me, faint at first but growing stronger.
My hands instinctively went to my stomach, and a wave of shock coursed through me.
I was pregnant.
Kael could never know. He had rejected me, discarded me as if I were nothing. I wouldn’t let him do the same to our children.
I wiped the tears from my face and stood, my heart pounding with newfound resolve. There was no time to grieve. I had to leave—far from Kael, far from his territory.

Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
