Introduction
Chapter 1
Freya
Iâm the only female Alpha in the entire werewolf kingdom â and the only Alpha whoâs ever been betrayed and deceived by her own mate, forced to take him to court.
Kael Draven, the man I once loved with all my heart, stole everything that belonged to my parents.
That will he held in his hands? The one supposedly signed by my late parents? It gave him everything.
My familyâs fortune⊠all of it became his. Even though he was never their son.
I sued him â but the court ruled against me. They said I didnât have enough solid evidence.
And now? I even owe Kael six million dollars.
Suddenly, it didnât matter that I was the only child and heir to the Silvermoon pack and the Thornhart fortune. All that mattered was the piece of paper in Kaelâs possession.
âAlpha Freya,â the debt collector said, his voice cold and professional. âYou must pay the inheritance to Alpha Kael as soon as possible, otherwise the collection agency will have to resort to⊠extreme measures.â
As the debt collector stood on my front step, his eyes flicked up to the old mansion behind me, and his implication was obvious. If I didnât pay the six million I now owed my ex-fiance, I would lose my home, my pack, everything that meant anything to me.
I was now expected to just roll over and take it, as if the will Kael possessed was legal.
But I knew better. I knew that Kael had forged the will after my parentsâ unexpected accident two years ago. He had lied to me, to the werewolf court, and to the people we were sworn to serve and protect as Alphas.
Two years ago, my parents had passed away in a helicopter crash while flying to their favorite vacation destination. It was their fortieth wedding anniversary. It should have been a joyous occasion, and yet⊠They hadnât survived the impact.
Kael and I had been together for six years before that dayâsix years of promises, six years of love, six years of looking forward to the future.
We were fated mates who had discovered our bond at just eighteen years old. For everyone who watched, even for me, it was a fairytale romance. Two young wolves, barely on the cusp of adulthood, a bond snapping into place at just the right moment. Childhood friends turned lovers, and the rest should have been history.
And for a little while, it was. Kael gave me a ring after three years of dating, and I said yes, and we began planning our wedding.
I was going to be a young, blushing bride. We had the location picked outâa beautiful spot beneath the flowering cherry tree that stood directly on the border between our packs. I had even just picked out my dress, a lovely lace and silk number with a voluminous skirt fit for a princess, when my parents died.
And then, just like that, it was all over.
Kael showed up one day with my parentsâ âwillâ. It stated that they left everything, even the Silvermoon pack that should have been mine, to him. My namesake was gone in the blink of an eye, and I was supposed to hand my pack over to Kael.
He told me I could be his Luna insteadâthat he would combine Silvermoon and his pack, Steelmaw. I would be reduced to the trophy on his arm, the woman whose entire job was to look pretty and host parties.
I hadnât been raised for that. My parents had raised me to be an Alpha, to lead and care for our people. How could I just⊠hand my pack over to him?
So I refused. I left him, rejected him as I mate, and took him to court. Two years passed, and nowâŠ
Now, I had lost everything.
My pack members had gathered outside the house, clutching their Silvermoon pendants and looking up at me with expectant eyes as I took the debt notice from the collector. They were nervous, and rightfully so; what would happen to their home, to the family that had led them peacefully and with a just hand for generations?
Would they wind up under the rule of a man who had turned out to be an overly ambitious traitor? A man who had betrayed his own fated mate for his personal gain?
âWhat will you do, Alpha Freya?â one woman asked. âYouâre not going to leave us, are you?â
I lifted my chin, trying not to show the anguish I felt on my face. I had to present a strong front, refuse to let them see me falter. They depended on me now more than ever, and I couldnât fail them.
âI will find a way,â I said. âYou donât need to worry.â
My words were met with disbelief. Of course, some even believed that I should have given Kael what he wanted; that if I had just become his Luna, I still could have had some say in how Silvermoon was led. That I had jeopardized them all even more by refusing to give him the pack and raising the risk of the pack being taken from me forever.
âJust marry him!â someone shouted. âIt will be easier this way, Alpha! Youâre putting us all at risk!â
My throat tightened, but I kept my face neutral. âAnyone who wishes to leave the pack may do so with my blessing,â I called out. âI will sever your pack tie now if you wish. But I will not hand the pack my parents cared so much about to a man who lied about my inheritance.â
The crowd murmured. Suddenly, a man at the back shouted, âWhat about Alpha Ezren?â
My eyes widened at the mention of Ezren. âAlpha Ezren!â someone else added. âYes, heâs Kaelâs rival! Heâll help if you just ask!â
I tightened my grip on the debt notice, and although my heart had begun to pound, I continued to maintain a calm expression. âIâll fix this,â I said vaguely, refusing to comment on the man who had been Kaelâs rival and my public nuisance for years. âPlease donât worryâI will protect our home.â
âJust call Ezren!â the crowd chanted. âEzren! Ezren!â
My heart thrummed. I managed a weak, âI will consider it,â before I slipped inside the house and closed the door behind me. For a moment I just leaned against the wood, breathing deeply.
It was then that the tears finally spilled over. For two years I had been struggling, pretending that I could win in court, pretending that everything hadnât ended. To win the trial, to get my parentsâ legacy back, I had barely slept for more than four hours a night.
Seeing my parentsâ photos now, still lining the walls of the house they once lived inâmy mother with her long, flowing chestnut hair just like mine, my fatherâs hazel eyes smiling at me from their portraitâfelt like a punch to the gut.
I missed them so badly. More than anything⊠And yet I had failed them.
I wondered what they would say if they were still here. Maybe my father would say, âDonât shed a tear; you still have a tough battle ahead.â
Maybe my mother would say, âStand up straight, Freya. My daughter wonât be defeated by a man.â
Of course, I would have no way of knowing exactly what they would say, because they were gone. But I could pretend I heard their voices whispering in my ears. And so I straightened and composed myself and began making my way down the hallâaway from the people clamoring outside, away from the debtor, away from everything. I needed to think, to plan my next steps.
I had to keep going even now, especially now, because I was the Alpha of Silvermoon. The only Alpha of Silvermoon. I had to be strong for my packâI couldnât stay here crying like a frightened child. I had to face my problems head-on.
Suddenly, an unexpected warmth enveloped me. A coat settled around my shoulders, and I gasped, whirling around.
The newcomer had a ruggedly handsome face with a small scar that cut through his eyebrow. His gray eyes looked stark against his jet black hair.
As recognized him immediately. âWhat are you doing here, Ezren?â
He flashed me a roguish smile.
âI heard you lost the trial today,â he said. âSo I thought you might need some company.â
âIâd rather be alone.â
âIf you need help, you can tell me.â Ezren looked at me with his gray eyes, suddenly reaching up to the the corner of my ownâI hadnât even realized Iâd forgotten to wipe away my tears.
âAfter all,â he said, âweâve been married for two years.â

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride
Yet Alexander made his decision clear to the world: âEvelyn is the only woman I will ever marry.â
I Slapped My FiancĂ©âThen Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancĂ© nowâbillionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didnât mind. Iâd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. Thatâs when it hit meâhe didnât love me. He didnât even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasnât even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disasterâmy parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. Iâd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision Iâd ever made.
Because my one-night stand isnât just some random guy. Heâs richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, heâs not letting me go.
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate littleâ"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...
