Chapter 1
EMERALD'S POV
"Pack the things into the house, we will be there tomorrow by nightfall" my dad replied over the phone as I packed in the boxes inside a big apartment with the help of the driver. We had to move over to a new town at Mexico after dad was transferred to a new site for work, but then we were already used to changing houses every damn year because of his type of work. "Sweetie, promise me you will be fine" mum's worried voice filled into my ears from the phone. I seemed to understand my mum more than anyone else, she was always worried and scared because of the nightmares I always have.
" You know that we want nothing more than to be there with you but we have to clear out some important stuff at the office" she added. "Yeah sure" I rolled my eyes, "duty calls" I mumbled. Dad took in a deep breath before speaking "Em, take care of yourself, make sure you wake up early for school tomorrow, everything has been arranged". I hummed in approval and dailed off the call, staring at the large apartment in front of me which gave me the creeps. I couldn't imagine my parents would do that to a seventeen-year-old girl. "How the fuck am I supposed to sleep all by myself in this big apartment in a new town? What if those monsters from my dream appear and try to hurt me again? I shrinked my dress in fear as I stared into the house.
The interior design had killer vibes, "maybe being here isn't too awful." I muttered with a low hiss, I found my way into the living room, I haven't been alone all by myself since I lost all the memories of my childhood. "Ma'mm, I'm leaving now, have a good stay. I am done with the cleaning" the old cleaner smiled exposing two dark brown teeth in her mouth. "Alright thank you" I gave my warmest smile. "Oh! Don't forget to keep your light on at night" she said. Fear cripped inside of me as the knowledge that the monsters from my dream must have found me again. "Is there any other dangers that I should know?" I turned back for answers but she was already half down the lane and couldn't hear me. How the heck did she go that fast? I did a quick tour around the large mansion, it was big and spectacular. There where three rooms and I deliberately picked the one I felt was the best and less creepy.
AT NIGHT
"Who knows a guy may actually fall for you?" My best friend Tracy chukled still applying her cucumber face scrub over the video call. Tracy was the firect opposite of me. "You are delusional". I hissed. "Come on Em, you have to promise to tell me everything that happens at school tomorrow". I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, sure but don't expect much I'm pretty sure nothing will happen!". No matter what I tell Tracy she just wouldn't believe me. She waved me bye and I muttered some silly words under my breath before ending the call. Standing up from the bed, I felt really bad and I decided to go for a walk, it wouldn't hurt to see around. Although it was woods only and there are no nearby houses, I walked through the thick woods with my eyes faced on my phone, Candy Crush was my best game ever and I couldn't miss a single candy!!
"Grollllwwww!" My heart skip a bit and I stare at the huge white animal in front of me. It was snearing and glaring, its gaze directly boring into my eyes. " P..please don't hurt me" I stammered, I stared backwards. My entire body was shivering at the beast in front of me. I took two steps back, then three. The beast stared at my legs as if monitoring my moves. I just need three counts to run. The beast took one step towards me. "One" I counted in my mind, I noticed the eyes of the beast were blue. "Two" the insisor of the beast came out in an aggressive manner, like it was counting to lurge forward on me. "Three!!" I took off my pace to roughly running through the woods back to the house. At first it felt like it was following me, my heart almost fell off my chest, I did a little dance as I sited the house. I ran inside banging the door behind me, I bolted it, putting on the light as fast as I could. I looked out through the window still trying to know if I was being followed. "What the fuck was that?!" I held my chest trying to control my breathing, this was going to be a really long night.
THE NEXT DAY
Staring at the big and well-designed building in front of me which had it's name written in big capital letters on the top of the building, it read KINGS-BURY ACADEMY. This is it, I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath as I walked into the school. The hall was filled with students of elegance, it made me feel inferior. Kingsbury Academy was said to be the best school here at Mexico and it was a school of high standard concerning the fact that it was a school that was attended by students with royal's standards and background. The students attending the school was like the king's son and daughters of the Royal councils attended. I hoped I would fit well, I kept on walking to reach the end of the hall searching for someone to show me around. My eyes caught a glimpse of a girl, she was medium in size with a thick black hair. She held her books and wrapped it over her chest as if protecting it and she was walking down the hall with her head bowed. I smiled walking towards her, she turned and stared at me with disapproval. "Hi" I waved. "Are you new too?" I asked. "Why are you talking to me?!" she sounded surprised. "You should should stay away" she added. "If it isn't our little Kathy, seems you've got a new friend". One of the blonde hair girls with two other girls behind her came over standing in front of us.
She had her own elegance as her blonde hair did a flip. "leave me alone!!" the girl which I later found out to be Katty screamed. "Asshole!" The blonde haired girl hissed and walked out budging my shoulder as she walked, I turned to grab her hair but Kathy stopped me. She shook her head, "you wouldn't want to do that" she said. "Why not?" I eyed her. "What's your name? It seems like you are new" she questioned. "I'm Emerald" I said briskly.
KATTY'S POV
I stared at the girl in front of me, from the looks of things she was a human. "You moved in recently?" I asked raising an eyebrow. Mexico was a town full of werewolves, every single person who lived in Mexico were wolves and scarcely humans or rather those who attended the school were all wolves and it seemed like she has no idea what to do about it. "So what brought you here? I mean to this town?" I asked and she rose an eyebrow. "Well, my dad gets transferred every year due to his kind of work so he was transferred to Mexico" she replied. "That must be really hard for you" I said and she sighed, I wanted to yell at her and tell her to turn back but I wasn't going to be the one to disclose the wolf secret because I didn't want to fall into the trap of Draven King. "Mexico is a dangerous city" I said placing my book down to my waist. "Can you show me around? I find it difficult to figure out the place". She sighed and I nodded as I led her to the cafeteria first, I wouldn't refuse a chance with my first potential friend.
EMERALD'S POV
The place was crowded and filled with people chatting and eating joyfully, everyone seemed to have their own gang of friends. The girls had plated skirts that stopped above their knees and a white button shirts, while everyone chatted happilly, Kathy stood in the far end, near the wall to the exit. Her smile withers and her face darkens, i joined her and followed her gaze, the uniform for the girls is very pretty but its drop dead georgous for the boys especially those that had fit bodies like atheletes. The crowd's attention stray to the four boys standing at the corner of the cafeteria where Kathy's eyes is constantly gazing on with fear. It doesn't take a genius to figure out they are in the gang of their own. "Who are they? I stared back at her as she takes in a deep breath. "They are the main royals of Kings-bury Academy" her voice trembled. "If you want to have peace in K.B.A you have to be on their good side". "That's insane!" I blurted out laughing at how kids could own a school. "Who is their leader?" I asked.
Although she didn't answer, it took me only few seconds to discover who the leader was. The moment my eyes meet with his, the hairs at the back of my neck stood up like needles, his eyes was the most chilling eyes I've ever seen. He is the same height as the other three beside him but with more developed shoulders. He looked ruggedly handsome. His black hair was long and sliky in the middle, his nose is pointed and has a scar like it was hurt before. Something in my chest moved, I don't know what it was but it just a move, his head turned and his started at me silently as if he is meeting an old friend or foe! "SHIT!! SHIT!!" Kathy grabed me by my jacket and pulled me towards the direction of the exit. "Gezz what!?" I stared at her in shock. "King" she mumbled " Draven King!!" "And who is that?" I asked looking very confused. "He is as much of a king as his last name, next in line for the throne, his parents and those behind him on this danm place! you don't wanna fuck with them!!" She explained. "Alright, I don't plan on fucking with him either, he's too handsome for that" I replied. "What the fuck was I thinking when I was locking gazes with him! I hated boys, anyone but my best friend Tracy could relate to that I am a study freak besides I have only one year before I would get transferred again to another school, this is my High School final-year. "Oh my God!" Kathy exclaimed "they are following us!!"
I glanced over and found Draven with his gang striding towards us like a group of thugs in a Mafian film. The crowd gave space for them just like the case in Moses with the red sea. "Run!!" Katty yelled, fear written all over her face. "Why would I ?" I raised my brows in expiration and in no time they caught up with us although the other guys blocked the exit we were heading to and Draven closes up on me. He stared with cold eyes, call it instinct but something inside me told me that I should be scared of him. Immediately, I felt the need to run without turning back but I let my ego take the better part of me, besides I don't even know Draven, why should I be running away from him? "Good to see you Kathy" the other guy drew her right arm. "You look more nerdier this year". Everyone around us bursted into laughter cussing at her. My blood boiled on Kathy's behalf and feel the need to smash Cole's nose off as the crowd cheered screaming his name. But as I was about to utter a world, Kathy slipped her hands off Cole and runs away towards the exit, he followed her in amusement. I should have presumed what was going to happen next. I always do but I just missed this one out, a strong hand gripped my neck and jammed me into the wall. The eyes that I thought was cute before turned black and merciless as it bore into mine!! "I can't breathe " I spluttered out and a smirk appeared on his lips. "I will destroy you!" he smiled and that single sentence, sealed my fate.

My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
