Introduction

Georgia Steele came to Rosethorn Academy to skate.
Nothing more.
She has spent her entire life chasing perfection on the ice, following every rule, every expectation, and every demand placed in front of her. Rosethorn is supposed to be a fresh start. A place where she can finally prove she is more than the girl her mother trained her to become.
Then she meets Puck Hale.
He is Rosethorn's golden boy. Captain of the hockey team. Heir to something Georgia cannot understand. Beautiful, arrogant, dangerously intense.
And from the moment their eyes meet, Puck looks at her like he already knows her.
Like she belongs to him.
Georgia refuses to believe the strange pull between them means anything. She refuses to believe the whispers about wolves in the woods, the impossible things she sees after dark, or the way Puck's eyes sometimes seem to glow gold.
But Puck knows the truth.
Georgia is human.
And she is his mate.
Their bond should be impossible. Dangerous. Forbidden.
As Georgia is drawn deeper into Rosethorn's secrets, accidents begin happening around her, the forest seems to watch her every move, and someone is determined to make sure she never discovers what Puck really is.
Because the greatest danger at Rosethorn Academy isn't falling for the Alpha.
It's discovering what happens when an Alpha's human mate is threatened.
And Puck Hale has never been good at letting anyone take what belongs to him.

Chapter 1

Georgia

The envelope was heavier than paper should be.

I don't notice it right away. Right now the only thing that matters is the ice under my blades and the cold burning down into my lungs with every breath. Five a.m. and the rink is empty except for me, the hum of the overhead lights, and the sound of my own skates cutting into the surface.

This is the only hour that belongs to me. Before the coaches show up. Before my phone starts buzzing with messages from my mother asking if I've eaten enough protein, or stretched my hip flexors, or thought about what she said last night. Before Mollie's voice gets inside my head and starts running the show.

Up here, at dawn, it's just me and the ice.

I set up for the jump. Three turns of backward crossovers to build speed, my right leg driving into each stroke. Again, from the top. Mollie's voice surfaces unbidden, clipped and proprietary, the way she says it when she's not being my mother but something closer to a director reviewing footage. I shove it down and pull in, rotate, and I'm airborne for that one weightless second that never gets old no matter how many thousand times I've done it. I land clean. Triple toe loop, no wobble, no two-foot. My blade bites the ice and holds.

I let out a breath that turns to fog in front of my face and skate a slow victory lap around the empty rink, just for myself. Nobody's here to see it. That's kind of the point. On the boards, my phone lights up with a notification, 6:02 a.m., a text preview from Mollie I don't open. Even now, even here, she's awake and watching the clock.

By the time I'm done, my legs are shaking in the good way, the way that means I actually worked for something. I skate to the boards, wipe my face with the towel hanging there, and head back to the locker room to change before the rest of the world wakes up and starts telling me what to do with my life.

That's when I see it.

There's an envelope sitting on top of my bag, right on the bench where I left my stuff. Cream colored, thick, the kind of paper that feels expensive just to hold. No stamp. No return address. Just my name, written in ink so dark it's almost black: Georgia.

I scan the empty locker room, the rows of lockers, the door I know I locked behind me. Nobody. The room is as empty as it was when I walked in an hour ago.

I turn the envelope over. On the back, pressed into a circle of dark red wax, is a crest. Two wolves, facing each other, flanking a tall pine tree between them. The wax is thick and slightly uneven, like it was sealed by hand instead of a machine.

I break the seal.

Inside is a single sheet of the same heavy cream paper, folded in thirds. I unfold it. The handwriting is elegant, old-fashioned, like something out of a period drama.

Georgia,

You have been selected for admission to Rosethorne High's competitive skating program, beginning this semester. Enclosed you will find enrollment details and a contact number should you have questions.

You have been selected.

That's it. That's the whole letter. No explanation of what Rosethorne is, or where it heard my name, or why a school I've never applied to, never toured, never even googled, is inviting me to enroll like it's already decided the answer is yes.

I read it three times. Just that one sentence, sitting at the bottom like a period at the end of a question I didn't get to ask.

There's a phone number printed at the bottom corner of the page. My thumb hovers over my phone screen, then presses down before I can stop it.

It rings twice. A woman picks up, her voice warm in a practiced kind of way, smooth and even, like she's said this exact greeting a hundred times before and never once gotten tired of it.

"Rosethorne Admissions," she answers, brisk and pleasant.

"Hi." My voice comes out smaller than I want it to. I clear my throat and try again. "Hi, my name is Georgia. I got a letter. An invitation. I don't understand how you got my name. I've never even heard of your school."

"Georgia," she repeats, warm and certain, as though she's been expecting this call all morning. "Thank you for reaching out so quickly. That's a good sign."

"A good sign of what?" I ask, frowning at the crest still gripped in my other hand.

"That you don't let things go unanswered," she says, and I hear the faint rustle of paper on her end, like she's checking something. "We've been watching you for some time, Georgia. You have qualities we value."

The hair on my arms lifts. "Watching me? Like, at competitions?" I press the phone harder against my ear.

"Among other places," she says, unbothered.

"What qualities?" I demand, my grip tightening on the receiver. "Coaches watch skaters at competitions. Scouts watch skaters at competitions. Nobody watches a fifteen-year-old training alone at five in the morning in the middle of nowhere."

A pause follows, long enough that I pull the phone away from my ear to check the call hasn't dropped.

"Resilience," she says finally, measured, deliberate. "Spatial intelligence. And something we can't quite name." She lets the silence stretch again before adding, "You'll understand when you arrive."

"That's not really an answer," I say flatly.

"No," she agrees, amusement threading through her voice now. "It isn't. I'm sorry, Georgia. Some things Rosethorne prefers to show rather than tell. You'll find the details of your admission enclosed. We hope to see you soon."

The line clicks dead before I can ask anything else.

I stand there holding my phone, the dial tone humming faintly even after the call has ended.

I look back down at the letter, at the wax seal I broke, the two wolves still pressed into the red circle even in pieces. I hold it up toward the fluorescent light overhead, turning it slightly, and for one second, just one, the wolves seem to move. The wax seems to shift, some trick of the broken seal catching the light at a strange angle.

I blink. Still. Just wax.

I tilt it again on purpose, angling it the exact same way, chasing whatever I thought I saw. Nothing happens. I try once more, slower this time, holding my breath. The wolves stay frozen mid-snarl, red and cracked and ordinary.

My chest tightens around the two facts sitting there together, unwilling to settle into either real or not real.

I whisper it out loud, to the empty room, to nobody at all, my voice barely audible even to myself.

"What are you?"

My phone buzzes in my hand. I look down, half expecting Mollie.

It's not her. It's the same number from the letter, calling back. No voicemail. Just a missed call, already gone by the time I check the screen, like whoever it was already knew I wouldn't pick up in time.

AN AGE GAP, FORCED PROXIMITY, BLACK FLAG ROMANCE

Vincenzo Valentini is a man who sees the world as a business counter and human beings as merchandise.

The owner of an empire built upon corpses and submission, he is the reflection of pure perversity.

When fate places Andrew Thompson, the son of his greatest rival, into his hands, the plan was simple: use him, break him, and discard him like a toy that has lost its appeal.

What Vincenzo did not expect was that, beneath the youthful skin and the appearance of innocence, Andrew hid the same abyss as he did.

Vincenzo never wanted redemption. He never wanted someone to save him from his own darkness. He was seeking a mirror. And in Andrew, he found the partner who, upon seeing his blood-stained hands, does not recoil in terror, but trembles with desire.

In this perverse game, the "little toy" proves to be the perfect executioner. The mafia leader found someone who not only accepts his cruel side but cultivates it, feeding the monster Vincenzo has always been.

Where there should have been fear, lust emerged. Where there should have been hatred, a perverse loyalty was born. Andrew Thompson is the dark reflection of Vincenzo, the soldier the underworld did not see coming, and the man who proved that, for some, paradise only makes sense if it is in the middle of chaos.

Vincenzo opened the doors to his empire, but Andrew was the only one capable of invading his heart.

They are not heroes. They are hell on earth.

The ballroom fell silent.

Was he about to kiss me?

The Rejected Luna’s Rise

The Rejected Luna’s Rise

They were already married for three years when Alpha Damian Zeus’s long-lost first love, Lily, returned bringing along a five-year-old pup.

Luna Ariana Volkstane slid the formal rejection request across the table. "Let's end this bond. It's better for you, me, and your first love."

He just smirked. "You want me to reject you? You think you can break our bond that easily?"

So she did. Ariana cut ties with him completely, poured herself into her career, and rose to global fame as a legendary healer, her knowledge of rare herbs, wolf anatomy, and ancient magic sought after across continents.

The powerful suitors lined up. The Alpha of an overseas empire whispered, "Ariana, hurry up and perform the severing ritual. I can't wait to claim you." A powerful pack leader vowed, "I'll be there with you the day you break the bond." A legendary wolf attorney promised, "I'll handle your rejection case with the pack council myself."

Ariana just rubbed her temples. It's not that she didn't want the split, she wanted it more than anything, it's just that the Alpha she was mated to refused to let go.

Finally, she announced, "Whoever can officially get me rejected, I'll put you at the head table of my bond-breaking celebration."

Not long after, Alpha Damian was served the official rejection request right in the middle of an emergency pack council meeting. That same afternoon, he was attacked by rogues at the gates of his own territory.

When Ariana showed up at the pack infirmary with healing herbs, she repeated calmly, "Let's sever the mate bond. It's better for you, me, and everyone else."

But the cold, untouchable Alpha pulled her into his arms, his eyes blood-red with fury. "You want me to reject you? Over my dead body."
