Chapter 1
Emily POV
The plane lands and it is finally time for me to go home. I was supposed to be home by the end of the week, but my meetings have been postponed. I decided to come back early and surprise him. I have been worried since he hasn't picked up his phone, but he could be busy.
I walked into the house that my husband and I bought together 6 years ago. The excitement that I feel is overwhelming. I took a little time off of work. I want to take my husband on a second honeymoon. We didn't have that much fun on our first honeymoon. Damian broke his leg on the second day and I had food poisoning for the whole week. I spent my honeymoon in the hospital.
I walk down the hall and hear some grunting sounds coming from our room. At first, I thought Damian was in pain, but as I got closer I realized that it was the same noise that he makes when we have sex.
I steadied myself against the wall, hoping that what I was hearing was wrong. I walk closer as slowly as possible, wishing this is all a bad dream that I am going to wake up from any moment.
I open the door with a bang. The door splinters and breaks with the force that it hits the wall. Damian and the woman scream in fright. My blood runs cold once I see who the woman was, my best friend. How could he?
My vision blurred with tears as I made my way out of the house. I start running down the street. I hear Damian calling out to me in the distance. I didn't care anymore. The rain is pouring down onto my face and mixing with my tears. I could hardly see, but all I could think of was getting out of there.
I kept running for what felt like hours. I stopped once I had no more energy to go on. I stumbled into the alley and sat down. I pulled my legs to my chest and kept sobbing.
I don't know how long I sat there just feeling my heart break over and over again. Is this pain ever going to stop? I hear footsteps getting closer and closer. I look up and see a young man walking closer to me. I start wiping my tears profusely, trying to hide my tears.
"Don't worry about the tears. I already saw it." He gave me the kindest smile I have ever seen. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. This is why I came into the alley, so no one could see me. I was trying to hide my pain from the man, but he could see right through my facade.
"Why don't you come with me? It is cold outside. We can get a warm cup of coffee inside." This kind man helped me up and placed his leather jacket around my shoulders. This is the first time I realised that I left the house without getting myself something warm.
We stepped around the corner and I saw that we were at my favourite coffee shop. Santa Rosa is the kind of place that always brought me joy. It is no wonder that even when I didn't know where I was going that I came here.
We walked in and all the usual waiters were there. The smell of the rich coffee enters my nose and brings back so many memories. This is a place that I came to daily since I finished my degree. It was my second home. I celebrated all my major milestones here.
I sat at the booth that was reserved only for me. Yes, this is how I came here. I run my hands over the red tablecloth. It was supposed to bring me comfort, but right now it only gives me pain. This is the exact spot where Damian asked me to marry him. Where we planned our wedding together. All of it just went up in smoke. I feel the tears running down my face once again.
"Emily, you came back early." The owner of Santa Rosa pulled me up and gave me a hug. This only made me cry even harder. Rose has been a mother to me since my parents died just before I finished university. She pushed me back a bit and I guess she could see the sadness in my eyes. She didn't give me any pity for which I am grateful. She pushed me back into the booth and sat down next to me.
I told her everything that has happened since I walked into the house. We kept talking until my mind was far from the fact that my husband was cheating.
I walked out of the coffee shop feeling lighter than before. The kind man disappeared as soon as Rose sat down.
It was still raining outside, so I walked to the curb to catch a cab. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around and see Damian standing behind me. My anger and hurt are back in full force.
"Can we please talk? I want to explain everything to you." Damian asked, looking guilty as sin. I know he will only make excuses. The most prominent one will be that I didn't give him enough attention. I know this because this was the excuse that my friend's husband used.
"Yes Damian, we can talk, but I don't want to talk about your explanation. Nothing you say can make this better. I will only talk to you about a divorce." I turn back to the cab that stopped. I climb in not looking back at Damian.

He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.

What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
