Gemma · Ongoing · 114.5k Words
Introduction
"Of course not, Mr. Delacroix. This is my first time meeting you and there's no way a mere teacher like me would ever be found in the same... circle as yours."
He didn't believe her. She didn't trust him. But soon enough, she was wearing his name and sleeping in his house.
Corinne Sterling lives a double life. By day, she is a quiet schoolteacher. By night, she hides behind a mask, dancing to pay off the debt that destroyed her reputation and stole everything she once had. No one is supposed to connect the two identities, until Lucian Delacroix walks into her world.
Powerful, sharp, and impossible to deceive, Lucian is a widowed billionaire and a devoted father to twin boys. The moment he looks into Corinne's eyes, he knows he has seen her before. Not in a classroom, but somewhere far more dangerous.
Instead of exposing her, he makes an offer.
His name. His protection. A marriage that will solve both their problems.
What begins as a calculated arrangement soon turns into something far more complicated. As buried secrets resurface and a web of fraud and murder links their pasts together, Corinne realizes she is no longer just hiding from her enemies. She is standing beside a man who could either save her or ruin her completely.
And when the truth finally comes out, walking away may no longer be an option.
Chapter 1
LUCIAN
"We've arrived, sir."
Great. So we were actually doing this.
My gaze drifted to the tinted window, to the garish lights screaming down at the entrance of the building like a warning. Eclipse's Strip n Drink. Even inside the car, I could hear the bass pounding from the walls. The street outside was packed —heels clicking, laughter spilling from the mouths that have tasted too much alcohol. The bouncers stood like soldiers, tightly checking IDs and patting down anyone who seemed like a threat.
I breathed out loud in annoyance. "Can't we just go back?"
George turned his head, one brow lifting. "Sir, with all due respect, Matt might have my head for breakfast if you don't walk in there tonight."
"You don't have to drink," he continued. "You can just sit in there for an hour and nod at whatever Matt says. Maybe even applaud once or twice. Then you can glare your way out of the building and go home."
I gave him a slow look. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"
"Not at all, sir."
A small snort escaped me despite myself.
I'd been in meetings from dawn until dusk. By the time I was done, I hadn't even bothered going home. My tie was long gone—lost somewhere between the conference room and the elevator—and my jacket lay abandoned in the backseat like it had personally offended me. Now I sat in a half-unbuttoned shirt, sleeves rolled to my elbows, tattoos exposed, hair slightly tousled. If this was my version of casual, I wasn't fooling anyone.
"Remind me why I'm doing this again."
"Because it's Matt's bachelor party. Because you've bailed on the last three events you were invited to. Because your mother is one conversation away from staging a full-blown rescue mission. And because," George said, pausing for effect, "you haven't done anything remotely selfish in years."
Only George could say that without it sounding like an accusation.
He wasn't just a butler. He hadn't been for a long time. After Lena died, my mother had hired him. Said the boys and I needed help. I didn't have the strength to argue back then as I hadn't been expecting him to stay. He was in his mid-forties, soft-spoken and looked like he belonged in a library, not a house like mine. But he'd proven himself more capable than I'd imagined. The boys loved him. And I relied on him more than I cared to admit.
"Alright," I muttered. "But if someone tries to make me do body shots or dance, I'm burning the building down."
George gave a dry nod. "Understood. Total annihilation if provoked."
I reached for the door handle, then paused when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
My mouth tugged into a small smile before I even looked at the screen.
I answered and the video call opened to Lucas's face, nose practically pressed to the front camera, wide grin stretching from ear to ear.
"Daddy!"
"Hey, buddy," I said, voice already softening. "How's it going over there?"
Lucas dropped back dramatically, flipping the camera toward the ceiling before dragging it back to his face. "We're okay. Eli got grumpy again, but I gave him my cookie so he'd stop frowning."
I raised a brow. "You gave your cookie away?"
"Yep!" He nodded, chest puffing up proudly. "I didn't even lick it first."
I huffed a small laugh. "That's progress."
Lucas turned the phone, whispering loudly. "Lee, come on. Daddy wants to say hi."
For a brief moment, the camera bounced around before focusing on Elias. His dark curls fell gently over his forehead, partially covering his downcast eyes as he tucked himself into the edge of the frame. His thumb hovered just near his lips before he quickly pulled it away.
"Hi, Daddy," he whispered.
I leaned slightly forward, instinctively lowering my voice too. "Hi, baby. Did you do something fun today?"
He gave a shy nod, glancing quickly up at the camera before looking away again without saying anything else.
Lucas filled the silence immediately. "He made a dragon in art class! It looked awesome."
I smiled again. "That so? I'd love to see it."
Elias's eyes flickered upward briefly. "It's green… and has three wings."
I smiled. "Sounds amazing."
"Riri said dragons don't need to follow the rules," Elias added quietly.
I paused for a moment. I had heard them talk about this homeroom teacher but had not had the opportunity to meet her yet. It is not like Elias; he is typically very silent and closed off, so it was odd for him to sound so charmed. To hear his voice light up like that was strange, unexpected even.
There was a mix of curiosity and cautiousness swirling inside me.
"She's right," I replied. "Three wings is perfect."
Elias's lips curled, just a little. That almost-smile that always felt like a gift.
In the background, I heard my mother's voice calling out. "Boys, time to set the table!"
"Okay!" Lucas yelled back, then looked at me again. "We talk tomorrow?"
"Sure bud," I said gently. "Be good for Grandma and Grandpa, alright? I'll come pick you guys soon."
Lucas saluted dramatically. Elias gave another quiet nod.
"Love you!" Lucas shouted.
"Love you, Daddy," Elias said, a little softer.
"Love you both."
A moment later, the screen shifted and my mother's face came into view. Her smile was warm.
"Lucian,"
"Mom."
She took a moment to study me through the screen. Her eyes always searched, always knows more than I wanted her to.
"If you're wondering about them," she started lightly, "they're fine. Happy, fed and just as loud as ever—well, at least Lucas is."
I didn't reply, just sat back, eyes flicking briefly out the window.
"Elias gave me a lecture on dragons and Lucas tried to convince me to let him drive the car. Normal day."
A ghost of a smile tugged at the corner of my mouth, gone before it fully appeared.
"You're 'functioning,' right?"
I gave a noncommittal sound.
She nodded like she'd expected that. "We'll bring them over on Sunday… unless work eats you alive before then."
"I'm trying." I said.
"I know," she replied simply. "I'll bring food. Your fridge is probably a desert."
"It's not empty mum," I grumbled. "I have a house full of housekeepers and cooks."
"Tell that to someone who cares," she said, almost amused.
There was a pause.
"Alright then," she said, like she wasn't expecting anything more. "Goodnight, Lucian."
"Night."
The call ended.
I sat still for a second with the phone in my hand and her voice fading but not gone.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Matt step out of the club.
I let out an irritated sigh and straightened, inevitably shutting the door on everything else.
Right.
Time to be me again.
No, time to be 'him' again.
The version of me that feels nothing. Says just enough. Walks into a room and silences it without a word. The one they mistake for control when it's really just emptiness wrapped in charm.
The one I became the day everything I loved stopped breathing.
A mask.
A shield.
A warning.
And tonight, that version would have to do.

Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.
**

**
I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.
Goddess Of The Underworld

Peace lasts exactly one lullaby. This is the story of an orphan pup who became a goddess by choosing her family; of four imperfect alphas learning how to be better. Steamy, fierce, and full of heart, Goddess of the Underworld is a reverse harem, found-family paranormal romance where love writes the rules and keeps three realms from falling apart.
A pack of their own
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.
Especially - Rule Number One - No Mates
When Draven meets Domonic, he knows that she is his mate, but Draven has no idea what a mate is, only that she has fallen in love with a shifter. An Alpha that will break her heart to make her leave. Promising herself, she will never forgive him, she disappears.
But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
Invisible To Her Bully
Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
