U.J. Write · Ongoing · 155.7k Words
Introduction
"Don't you think you should stop messing around?" I muttered. "If the media finds out, you'll be in trouble. Sleeping with a different girl every night doesn't make you a better man. You should settle down soon."
"Wow," James scoffed, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I don't remember asking for your advice. You're just my secretary—stick to that. Besides, if the media does find out, isn't it your job to deny it? Unless… you're jealous and want to sleep with me too."
Stella always knew that her boss, James, had his eyes on her and would do anything to get her in his bed. But she refused to give in to his advances and drew the line between their CEO and secretary relationship. However, when James gets involved in a scandal with a famous model, and his mother forces him to get married, he has no choice but to turn to Stella for help to be his fake girlfriend.
What started as a fake relationship and sparks of sl attraction turned into something more when they were forced to get closer. James had secrets that could haunt Stella for the rest of her life and it's up to her to choose between her sanity and her attraction towards her boss.
Chapter 1
STELLA'S POV
I could feel his eyes on me again, just like every other time. It was like a snake slithering up and down my body, causing me to shiver in response as I shifted from one foot to another.
"That brings us to the end of the meeting. Any questions?" I asked as I glanced around at my colleagues, who were busy writing things down in their books.
"Everyone can leave; the meeting has ended," James said as he stood up from his chair, and everyone filed out of the office except me.
"What else is on my schedule, Stella? I'm exhausted already." He muttered as he took off his coat and I took it from him before picking up his things.
"If I'm not mistaken, it's just nine am. Getting tired when it isn't noon yet is very suspicious. What did you do all night?" I asked, even though I knew better than to probe into his private life.
"You wanna know what I did? Sure, I'll tell you. I fucked with a pretty bimbo all night. Her energy was unmatched!" He replied with a grin and I froze in my tracks as he walked past me before he stopped and turned to look at me.
"Don't you think you should stop fucking around? You could get into trouble if the media finds out about this. Sleeping with a different girl every night doesn't make you a better man. You should settle down soon." I mumbled softbelieve e observed me for,a while before a scoff of amusement escaped his lips.
"Wow. I would give you a round of applause, except I don't remember asking for your advice. You're just my recognisable, withd you should keep your job as that. Moreover, if the media finds out about it, it's your job to deny it, isn't it? Unless... you're jealous and want to sleep with me too." He said with a smirk on his lips as he walked up to me but I quickly moved past him and walked to the door.
"Sorry, Mr James, but you're not my type," I mumbled as I Warmly, onlyut behe office, leaving him there with a look of fury and annoyance on his face.
What the hell did I just do? I could lose my job by saying those words to him. But realisedetter.
He wanted me too. I couldn't help but feel like he slept with those girls and flirted with them just to get on my nerves.
I could feel it in the way his eyes undressed me all the time. The way he bit his bottom lip whenever I showed up at his office in a tight dress. He wanted me badly but I've never given him the green light.
Not because I didn't want him. No. But because..."Stella? What are you zoning out for? Your phone has been ringing in your office all day." My best pal, Shayla, said as she shook me out of my reverie and I raised a brow at her.
"My phone? Who could that be?" I muttered under my breath as I walked to my office which was right beside James'.
He called it the perks of being his secretary. But it felt like hell to have our offices next to each other. Because he could bring in any girl and they'd go on for hours while I had to bear with the sound of the pleasures.
Being on the top floor had its advantages and disadvantages. But the disadvantages were more, given that there were only two offices on this floor: mine and James'.
"Let's talk during break; I have to get something done," Shayla said, and I nodded in response as I picked up my phone to see that it was James' mother who called.
The phone buzzed again and I quickly swiped on the green button.
"I didn't pay you to work beside my son so that you could ignore my calls!" She yelled in anger the moment I picked the call and I flinched even though she wasn't in front of me.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I was in the meeting room. Is there anything I can do for you, ma'am?" I asked softly and she let out a heavy sigh.
"Tell James that I'm waiting for him downstairs. It's very important. He won't answer his calls and the security won't let me come upstairs!" Her voice was filled with exasperation as she spoke and I ran a hand through my hair in frustration.
"I'll get him to come to you now, ma'am. My apologies." I said and she hummed in response before hanging up. This family won't be the death of me.
I returned to James' office where he stood by the window, watching the traffic by the roadside.
"Mr James, your mother wants to speak with you."
"I don't want to speak to her. Go and tell her that."
He was such a child sometimes, I just wanted to grab him by the ear and pull him downstairs.
"What are you, a child? Avoiding your mother like you stole a cookie from her jar. If I tell her that, then I'll lose my job and no one would be able to handle your temper like me." I threatened and he turned to glare at me for a moment before he finally walked out of the office.
At least, he values my presence.
I returned to my office and sat down as I stared at the thin wall that separated my office from James'. I could hear everything that he did in there. Even when he touched himself while calling out my name, I heard everything.
And I knew that he knew that I heard it all.
He was so damn unfiltered that I sometimes wondered what went on in his head.
Minutes passed after he went downstairs and I decided to immerse myself in the paperwork sitting on my desk before it piled up.
My door suddenly barged open and James stepped in, causing me to shoot up from my seat as I glanced at him in confusion.
"What's wrong, Mr James?" I asked and he approached with an expression I couldn't read on his face.
"Do you have a boyfriend? Fiance? Husband?" He asked, but that only fueled my confusion even more as I shook my head, and he smirked in response.
"That's good." He said as he suddenly placed his hands on my face and pulled me close before kissing me deeply while I stood there frozen in shock.

When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
The Kidney That Killed Me
A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.
When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.
When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.
My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.
Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."
But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.
Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

Can they both work on letting go of the past and moving forward together or will fate have different plans and keep them apart?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
