The tension rises, the danger is closer and closer, and Zephyrine must fight against her own past and against the evil which wants to destroy all she loves. Chapter 1
Zephyrine’s POV.
I trudged across the pack's courtyard, my eyes cast down to the ground. Tomorrow was the mating ceremony, and everyone was filled with excitement.
I walked and the weight of the other wolves made me miss my steps. The bullies led by , a tall, sneering she-wolf heading them by the name of Akira, blocked my path.
"Well, well, well, look what we have here," Akira said with so much malice in her voice. "The little omega so excited about the mating ceremony-or shall I say, so excited over nothing?"
The rest of the wolves snickered and my face grew hot with embarrassment.
"Hey, Zephyrine, don't you know that omegas like you don't get mates?" another wolf, a burly male named Thane, joined in. "I mean, who'd want to mate with a weak, pathetic omega like you?"
I tried to stand up straight, to show them I wasn't afraid. "I'll find a mate," I said, my voice shaking slightly. "I just have to believe in myself."
Akira laughed cold and mirthless. "Believe in yourself? Ha! You don't even know who your real parents are. Your mother didn't even want you, so why would anyone else?"
The others closed in on her, faces twisted into cruel grins.
"Yeah, Zephyrine, you're just a reject," Thane sneered. "A reject from your own mother. Who'd want to mate with someone like that?"
A sting of tears hit my eyes, yet I would not cry. I drew a deep breath and did the best I could to defend myself.
"That is not true," I said, trying to sound firm. "My adoptive parents love me, and they are all the family I need. And I will find a mate who loves me for who I am and not for my parents or any status I have in this pack."
Akira snorted, "You're out of your mind, Zephyrine. Nobody wants an omega like you. You're but a weak, useless wolf who can't even shift properly."
The other wolves joined in, chanting. "Weak, weak, weak! Omega, omega, omega!
It came rushing inside my head, full of anger and humiliation; I just wanted to hit them with something, but suddenly the words said by my adoptive mother, Astrid, came to my mind: "A true wolf doesn't fight with her teeth, but with her heart."
I took a deep breath and instead of fighting back, I turned around and walked away. The laughter and jeers at the back of the bullies still echoed, but I didn't turn around.
Opening the small front door of our little cottage, still shaken with the encounter with the bullies, I longed to see my mother, wearing that warm smile and hearing from her, words that comforted me and made me feel like I do matter. Entering the living room my heart just sank.
My mother, Astrid, sat on the floor, her lips and chin stained with lines of dry blood. I rushed to her wire, trying to pull her to her feet to see what had happened. "Mother! Oh no, what happened?" I mumbled tearfully.
I had tried to lift her up, but she was too heavy. I managed to drag her onto the bed, but at the very moment I did so, she passed out. My whole body filled with a racing of fear and desperation that overpowered every sane thought in my brain at that particular moment.
What was wrong with my mother. She was as agile as a horse when I left the house this morning. What happened?
I ran out of the cottage, to the pack's healer-Elara. I ran into her hut, out of breath. "Elara! Please-you have to help my mother! She's. she's hurt!" I huffed, trying to catch my breath.
“Calm down kid.” Elara mumbled as she held my hand and walked back to our cottage.
In she went to mother , and her hands moved in quick, sure motions, setting to work on her immediately, stabilizing her condition. Anxiously, I watch, helpless, as mom just laid there, non-responsive.
What felt like an eternity finally passed, and Astrid's eyes flickered open. She smiled weakly at me, and a wave of relief washed over me. Elara helped prop Astrid up against the pillows.
“She’s stable now. I have to leave.” Elara mumbled after exchanging a few words with mum.
"M-mum." I muttered, holding her frail hand in mine. "What happened, mum? Don't ever do that again. I was so scared," I said in a quivering voice as I kissed her hand, over and over.
"Zephyrine, my baby " she whispered in an extremely weak but soft tone. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just.I had a bit of a setback." She tried reassuring me, but I saw the pain and exhaustion in her eyes.
I shook my head as tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. "You have to stop working hard okay? I'm a big girl now, I'll do everything at home. You just take rest okay?" I scolded her in a loving voice.
"Urgh, now who is the mum." Astrid whined and rolled her eyes. "Let's leave this, tell me, what will you wear to the mating ceremony tomorrow?
It wasn't until Astrid said something about the mating ceremony that my mind strayed off. The feeling in my chest started growing and just wouldn't subside. Yh harsh words spoken by those bullies and I found myself again wondering who I really was, where I came from, was I a really rejected omega without hope of finding her mate, and why did Mother reject me?
It was then that Astrid's voice cut through my thoughts. "Zephyrine, dear, what's wrong? You seem a million miles away," she said, her face a mask of concern, and her hand rose to caress my cheeks.
"Who is my real mother?" I asked, words tumbling out of my mouth before I could stop them. "Where did you find me?" I looked to Astrid searching for answers, but she just stared back at me, her expression unreadable.

Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.

In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
