Introduction
I laughed.
I'd been a pirate king for ten years; what storms hadn't I weathered?
I not only emptied his treasure chest that he considered his for the taking overnight, but also used his money to buy up all the survival supplies in the city.

Chapter 1
I spent ten years as a pirate on this part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Ten years of plundering, gunfire, and storms have given me the most fearsome armed ships and astonishing wealth in this sea, but I am tired of this life where I don't know if there will be a tomorrow.
So I've decided to quit.
"After tonight, lower the black flag, split the money in the vault equally, and each of us will go ashore with clean identities, buy farms, make investments, and live a peaceful life." I said to the dozens of men who had risked their lives for me, standing on the main deck.
After a brief silence, shouts erupted on the deck.
Having lived in violence for too long, no one would want to live a peaceful life with a large sum of money.
Barrels of rum were smashed open, and the grease from the roasted meat sizzled in the brazier, bringing the farewell handwashing celebration to its climax.
As the one giving orders, I must remain clear-headed in any environment.
So I did not participate in their drinking.
I saw my first mate, Ryan, sitting alone by the cable, his lips moving.
"West longitude...49 degrees...North...deep-sea cave..."
I squinted slightly, walked over and sat down next to him.
"What are you muttering about, Ryan?" I hooked my arm around his neck. "Are you memorizing the addresses of women in which ports? Are you worried you won't find anyone to warm your bed once you get ashore?"
Ryan turned his head slowly.
He was clearly dead drunk.
"Women? Women...can become dead too! Nine days...only nine days left, the zombies are coming...the entire continent is about to be wiped out!"
Nine heavens, zombies? What is he talking about?
I watched him without making a sound.
Raine muttered to himself, "I need to dig up the treasure quickly, get that money, and then go ashore to buy all sorts of supplies to survive!"
It turns out that the coordinates he was just talking about were the coordinates of the treasure.
"Why didn't you tell Viktor about the treasure sooner?" I said with a friendly smile. "He's the captain, and you two are partners."
"Tell him?"
Ryan's expression instantly turned ferocious: "Tell him, and he'll take the lion's share as a matter of course, condescendingly handing me over! I'm fed up with being his subordinate forever! God gave me a second chance with my memories, not to be his dog!"
"Once I secretly unearth that fortune... I'll buy the most potent poison, and I'll watch him collapse on the deck, limbs convulsing, foaming at the mouth with blood... Then, this ship, this fortune, and everyone here will all be mine!"
A slightly cool night breeze brushed against my face.
I expressionlessly reached for the dagger on my boot, ready to kill him.
Because I am Victor.
But after thinking about it, I decided to hold back.
Killing him now would only get rid of a traitor; but if what he said is true, then I can prepare for that damned apocalypse in advance.
"Then you'd better hurry, future captain." I chuckled and patted his shoulder. "I've had too much to drink, I'm going to take a nap."
I turned and walked toward the dark lower deck.
Twenty minutes later, a completely black, silent speedboat silently glided out from the blind spot at the stern of the main ship and quickly disappeared into the inky sea. The revelry on deck continued unabated, and no one noticed that their captain had left the main ship.
I arrived at the reefs in the target sea area with a few trusted confidants.
After diving more than 30 meters down with the ocean current, the beam of the searchlight tore through the dark seawater, illuminating an extremely hidden natural cave.
When my men and I swam down to the bottom of the cave and saw what lay ahead, even I, who usually sees money as just numbers, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
The mountains of corrosion-resistant steel boxes lie dormant on the seabed like silent behemoths.
I gestured for my men to be on guard, then swam forward and used my dagger to pry open the lead seal on one of the boxes. As the water rushed in, the light from the searchlight refracted into an extremely dazzling brilliance inside the box.
It contained a large quantity of gold coins, jewels, and a golden statue of Neptune.
I casually grabbed a handful of gleaming gold coins, feeling their heavy texture in the seawater.
If the treasure is real, then the zombies that Raine mentioned might also be real.
The zombie outbreak will begin in nine days.
