Introduction
"You are the reason for my existence," Apollyon said huskily. "I belong to you. You possess me, Lilith," he added, his hand moved from her thigh which had a slit to her inner thigh.
"Stop, Apollyon," Lilith said.
"What if I don't?" Apollyon asked, peering deep into her eyes. "Say that I affect you," he proclaimed. His hand dangerously moved close to her forbidden region.
"Mmm..." And she moaned the next second, her strength of holding back crumbling into pieces.
Before Apollyon could pull away, Lilith pulled him down and kissed the Devil Lord.
In the Kingdom of Azuria, lived a young girl named Lilith. Her father was a renowned medical doctor for the Royal Family. Little did she know that her insatiable curiosity would unleash a series of unfortunate events, she inadvertently awakened Apollyon, the powerful Devil Lord who had been in a deep slumber for thousands of years which led to the tragic demise of her beloved father.
Seizing the opportunity presented by his awakening, the Devil Lord, Apollyon, swiftly secured control of Azuria by eliminating the entire royal lineage. The once-sealed devils were unleashed, and they began ruling over the humans.
As the years passed, Lilith matured into a resilient young woman. Apollyon, driven by a unique bond formed at the moment of his awakening, finally set his sights upon her, declaring her as his bride.
To Apollyon, Lilith symbolized his existence. However, for Lilith, Apollyon was the embodiment of her darkest nightmares.
Caught in the crosshairs of fate, Lilith must navigate a path where she does not only find her father's death mystery but at the same time, finds herself falling for Apollyon even in the darkness surrounding her.
Chapter 1
A ten-year-old girl, her long black tresses covered by a white scarf, carried a bamboo basket hooked onto her forearm. Her attire comprised a pristine, elbow-length blouse paired with a knee-length skirt, while her white socks neatly reached her knees. With azure eyes, she glanced up at the blossoms adorning a massive tree.
"Lilith!" Her father's voice reached her ears, prompting her to pivot.
"Yes, Father," she responded, hastening towards him.
"Darling, I must proceed to the palace for an audience with the King. Shall we make our way back?" Her father, Oliver, gently grasped his daughter's little finger as they started heading home.
"Father, do you know the name of that flower?" Lilith's head tilted once more as she observed the peculiar blossom. Its black petals were adorned with a glistening golden hue. Amidst the entire tree, this solitary flower stood out, piquing the young girl's curiosity.
Oliver followed his daughter's gaze to the flower she mentioned. His eyes widened upon seeing it and he swiftly averted his gaze, shifting his attention back to his daughter.
Perplexed, Lilith reached for her father's hand and gently urged it downward. In the blink of an eye, Oliver swept his daughter into his arms, striding in the opposite direction. "Don't gaze at that flower, Lilith. It harbors malevolence," he whispered to his daughter, who was briefly gripped by fear. Yet, her unyielding curiosity led her to lift her head slightly, stealing another glance at the enigmatic black blossom.
After putting some distance between them and the ominous flower, Oliver carefully set Lilith back on her feet. Within her young mind, a flurry of questions swirled.
However, before she could voice them, a group of soldiers approached them. With a solemn expression, Lilith studied their faces, then turned her gaze towards her father.
"We've been dispatched by the King to escort you," one of them conveyed. Oliver acknowledged their message with a thoughtful nod, mentioning that he intended to accompany Lilith home before heading to the palace.
"His Majesty tends to grow impatient when kept waiting by the Physician," another soldier added.
Lilith interjected gently, addressing her father, "Father, I can make my way home from here. We're already on the main route to town." As Oliver met his daughter's gaze, he found solace in those tranquil blue eyes as that ocean sight managed to quell his restless heart.
Oliver knelt down, tenderly running his fingers through Lilith's hair. "Head straight home, my dear. After I'm back, we'll enjoy a roasted chicken for lunch," he assured Lilith, who responded with a nod of understanding.
Drawing his daughter close, Oliver embraced her warmly, pressing a gentle kiss onto the crown of her head. "I'll be back before you know it," he promised, his smile conveying reassurance. Lilith's own smile blossomed, and with a wave to her father, she set off along the path he had pointed out.
After a while, Lilith came to a stop and cast a glance backward. Her father had departed, accompanied by the soldiers. Lilith's gaze then drifted towards the ascending path, and once again, her curiosity was stirred, beckoning her to inspect the mysterious flower.
"No flower could truly be evil," she whispered to herself, her determination prevailing as she retraced her steps toward the forest situated uphill.
Upon reaching the summit of the hill, Lilith found herself gasping for breath. The ground spread out before her, a vast expanse encircled by numerous trees. Clutching the bamboo basket firmly, she continued her journey, venturing forth across the open expanse.
Lilith had possessed an insatiable curiosity from a young age. Her father's vocation as a medical doctor only served to amplify her fascination with plants. Whenever she encountered a new botanical specimen, her inquisitiveness led her to meticulously examine it, often transporting it back home for further study.
However, her current undertaking was more challenging than usual. Ascending a towering tree was her latest endeavor, all in pursuit of harvesting that enigmatic black flower. Little did she realize that her efforts would soon prove invaluable-unveiling a remedy to combat a dire and lethal ailment that had taken root among a portion of the town's populace.
Having arrived at the very spot where the majestic tree stood tall, Lilith found the flower's black petals still aglow with their golden aura, a sight that set her heart aflutter for reasons she couldn't quite fathom. It was, without a doubt, the most exquisite blossom she had encountered in her young life.
Placing the bamboo basket gently on the lush grass, Lilith slipped off her shoes, her determination unwavering. Approaching the tree's sturdy trunk, she commenced her ascent. With each upward step, her gaze would occasionally flicker downward, but she'd take a steadying breath and resume her climb, utterly focused on the enigmatic flower that drew her closer.
Halfway up the tree, she paused, glancing downward once more. Summoning her courage, she continued her upward journey, driven solely by her unwavering curiosity.
Fear was foreign to her in this endeavor; her entire being was consumed by the allure of the mysterious blossom. Negotiating the branches with careful ease, she drew herself closer to her goal, finally finding herself in proximity to the captivating flower.
With a determined gesture, Lilith extended her hand, attempting to delicately pluck the flower. She stretched her body onto her tiptoes, repeating the action until her fingers brushed against the petals. To her surprise, the touch sent a shiver through her, as the flower exuded an uncommon chill. Yet, undeterred, she succeeded in plucking the blossom, her lips curving into a smile as she examined it in her palm.
"You couldn't possibly be malevolent," she murmured softly, her voice carried by a gentle breeze. Drawing the flower closer, she inhaled its fragrance. It was so captivating that it intoxicated her senses, causing the golden glow surrounding the bloom to intensify.
Having fulfilled her task, Lilith descended the tree with caution, slipping her shoes back on as a sense of achievement mingled with her ever-present curiosity.
"Father will surely worry if I'm not home soon," Lilith whispered, delicately placing the flower in the bamboo basket. As she straightened up, her gaze lifted to the sky, only to be met with an unexpected sight. The once sunny summer day had given way to a sudden darkness, as ominous clouds had gathered, cloaking the sky in their inky embrace.
Raising her gaze, Lilith felt a solitary raindrop land on her cheek. A tender touch of her fingers against her skin was all she managed before she set into a run. The heavens roared with thunder, its echoes reverberating through the sky, sending shivers down her spine.
As the sky wept, tiny droplets started to patter down upon her, each one contributing to the wetness that began to cling to her body. Undeterred, she sprinted forward, the urgency to escape the rain propelling her onward. She veered off course in her haste, straying from the intended path.
Guided solely by instinct, Lilith's search for shelter led her to the mouth of a cave. Without hesitation, she darted inside, seeking refuge from the relentless downpour.
Breathless, Lilith cast her gaze down at her dampened clothes. A mixture of frustration and surprise surged within her as she observed the wilted state of the flowers and herbs she had so carefully gathered earlier.
Amidst this, the black flower retained its ethereal radiance, seemingly untouched by the storm's fury.
"Oh dear," she sighed, her disappointment palpable. The sound of the strengthening winds outside sent a shiver down her spine, an unfamiliar sensation for a girl unacquainted with such intense storms. Gathering her resolve, she determined to venture deeper into the cave for safety.
With a decisive turn, Lilith stepped further into the cavern, her heart pounding in her chest. Yet, as she proceeded, her eyes widened in astonishment.
On a massive rocky surface revealed an unexpected sight— a mysterious man lying upon it, an enigma amidst the darkness of the cave.
She was unaware that this man could have completely changed her life from the time they met.
