Introduction
But reality was cruel. The man who came to me wasn't a prince on a white horse with a charming smile, but a dying man with three bullets that nearly ripped his heart out. He was Elion Starling, a businessman and Don. He forced me to heal him, and in that very moment, he claimed me as the mother of his child.
Chapter 1
“Hello, Calia.”
I held my breath as Dimitri stepped into the elevator. His smile. Oh my! My legs were shaking like jelly. I clutched the folder to my chest, my back pressed against the cold elevator wall. It was just the two of us here. He filled the elevator with his dazzling aura. He was incredibly handsome up close. He was a top cardiologist at Chicago Central Hospital. In fact, all the doctors at this hospital were top-notch. And I was so proud to be one of them.
“Your glasses are crooked.”
My breath hitched as Dimitri stood so close to me to adjust my glasses.
The scent of his perfume was so masculine. My heart was pounding so loudly in my ribcage that I was afraid he might hear it.
“Done.”
“Th-thank you.”
I touched the frames of my glasses awkwardly.
“I’ve never seen you without them.”
I cleared my throat softly.
"I can't see clearly without my glasses. If I don't want to bump into something and look stupid, I'd rather not take them off."
"Have you ever considered LASIK surgery or contact lenses?"
I shook my head slowly.
"I'd be interested in trying them, but I don't think I'm suited to contact lenses. And LASIK, that's not on my mind right now."
"Are you scared?" he smiled seductively.
"No, it's just... I'm still comfortable with these glasses."
Dimitri nodded slowly. He leaned back against the wall as he waited for the elevator to descend to the fourth floor.
"Night shift?"
"Yeah. You work the night shift too?"
"No. Just finished treating a patient in the operating room. Heart failure."
"Oh, I hope your patient gets better soon."
"I think that's a bit difficult. His heart condition is really bad. Only God knows how he's survived this long."
"That's what you call a miracle."
Dimitri crossed his arms across his chest. His biceps bulged beneath his lab coat. I bit my lower lip, imagining myself nibbling on his biceps. Sometimes my wild thoughts led me to fantasize about something erotic about Dimitri and me. He was so hot. I couldn't blame my mind if it imagined something indecent about him.
I groaned softly as the elevator stopped on the sixth floor. The doors opened. My eyes rolled lazily as I saw who was standing in front of the elevator.
"Oh, Dimitri. I didn't expect to see you here."
"Cassandra. Are you going home?"
"Yes. Are you going home too?"
"Yes. But I'll stop by my office first to get my stuff."
"We can go to the parking lot together then."
Cassandra was so focused on Dimitri that she completely failed to notice me standing in the corner of the elevator.
I wasn't surprised that she ignored me. She was one of the most popular doctors at the hospital. She was beautiful, sexy, and smart. Everyone loved Cassandra. No one ever ignored her when she walked through the lobby or the hallways. I was the complete opposite. I was just a surgeon who never got the spotlight. With thick glasses, a few freckles on my cheeks, and a ponytail, I looked completely unattractive compared to Cassandra.
"Oh, I didn't know you were there, Calia."
"You're only focused on Dimitri," I muttered under my breath.
She didn't hear my muttering. She was busy talking to Dimitri about some of her patients who she found strange.
The elevator stopped on the fourth floor. Cassandra got out first, followed by Dimitri. He turned to me and smiled.
"Good luck, Calia. See you tomorrow."
"Yeah, see you to—"
"Dimitri, hurry up. Don't you have to get your stuff from your office?"
Cassandra dragged Dimitri away before I could finish my words.
Bitch!
I was alone in the elevator, bored and annoyed. The elevator dinged softly as it reached the lobby. I walked to the emergency room to check on some of the young doctors on the night shift. They were under my supervision, so I had to make sure they didn't mess up on duty.
“Doctor Bennett.”
“Doctor Bennett.”
They turned to me and greeted me as soon as I stepped into the emergency room. At least, they considered my presence important, rather than ignoring me.
“Having any problems?”
“Don't worry, everything's under control. We can handle it.”
Rick gave me a thumbs-up.
“There's no emergency requiring your direction.”
My eyes scanned the entire emergency room. There were only two patients in cubicles one and two. A woman and a little girl. Monica and Tania were treating them. There was nothing dangerous that required my intervention.
“Okay. I'll be in my office if you need anything. Good night.”
I was so hungry. I turned into the cafeteria after leaving the emergency room. I hadn't had time to eat my grandmother's delicious lasagna because I was rushing to the hospital. My car had broken down, and I had to take the bus to the hospital. The bus stop was quite far from my grandmother's house. I had to walk for about ten minutes, then wait for the bus for another ten minutes, and then the ride to the hospital was about fifteen minutes. If I had driven myself, it would have taken me twenty minutes at most.
"Tsk, why did they put the warning sign here?"
I was forced to take a detour because of repairs in the right wing hallway. They should have put up a warning sign in the lobby. I had to walk around through the dark and deserted patient parking lot. I hoped I'd be lucky enough to find something to eat in the cafeteria. Sometimes everything was sold out, and only snacks from the vending machine remained.
"Are you a doctor?"
I paused, looking left and right to make sure the person was talking to me.
"Hey, answer me."
I turned around with a frown. A man in a black hoodie was standing behind me. He was sweating, his black hair plastered to his forehead. And from his expression, he looked like a rough guy.
"Yes, I'm a doctor. How can I help you?"
"Great. Come with me."
The man suddenly grabbed my wrist and dragged me toward a black car.
"What the hell are you doing? Let me go. If you need any medical treatment, you should go to the emergency room and follow the procedure."
"There's no time. My boss is going to die from all those shitty procedures. You have to help him."

A Lesson in Magic
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
Accidentally Crossing the Tycoon
Four years ago, the Bailey family faced a devastating financial crisis.
Just when bankruptcy seemed inevitable, a mysterious benefactor emerged, offering salvation with one condition: a contract marriage.
Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."
Danielle Harris is the daughter of an overprotective police chief and has led a sheltered life. As a kindergarten teacher, she's as far removed from the world of Harleys and bikers as you could get, but when she's rescued by the sexy and dangerous Austin Carver, her life is changed forever.

Will Booker be able to find the source of the threat before it's too late?
Will Dani finally give her heart to a man who's everything she's been warned about?

“I have waited nine years for you. That’s nearly a decade since I’ve felt this emptiness inside me. Part of me began to wonder if you didn’t exist or you’d already died. And then I found you, right inside my own home.”
He used one of his hands to stroke my cheek and tingles erupted everywhere.
“I’ve spent enough time without you and I will not let anything else keep us apart. Not other wolves, not my drunken father who’s barely holding himself together the past twenty years, not your family – and not even you.”

"Before my beast consumes me completely—I need a son to take the throne."
Too bad for him…I'm not the weak, pathetic girl they threw away. I'm something far more dangerous —the one woman who can break his curse… or break his kingdom.
