Introduction
And they finally did.
My twin sister ran. Left her wedding, her billionaire groom, and her entire arranged life behind without a single word to me. So they handed it all to me instead... her name, her dress, her future. I didn't get a choice. I never got a choice. One slap from my father and I was stepping into a limousine headed toward a life that was never mine.
The Hale Estate was everything I had never been allowed to want. Grand and cold and full of secrets that hummed behind every wall. Alistair Hale, my new husband, was dying, slowly and deliberately, like a man with unfinished business. The staff smiled too carefully. The rooms felt watched. And nothing, not a single thing, was what it appeared to be.
Then there was Lucian.
Chapter 1
Ivy
CRACK.
The crack of it is louder than the pain, a sharp sound that echoes off the dining room walls before I even feel my skin burn. My head snaps to the right, my hair falling over my face, and I stay like that, staring at the floor patterns. I can taste blood, and I tell myself not to blink, because if I blink, I’ll cry. I haven't cried since I was nine years old, and I am not starting now.
"Look at me, Ivy," my father says, his voice flat.
I turn back slowly, keeping my neck stiff, my cheek feeling like someone held a match to it. Across the table, he is cutting his meat like nothing happened.
"I'm looking," I say, my voice a small, hard thing.
"Good. Then listen. Your sister is gone. She ran like a coward in the middle of the night, and she left us with a debt we cannot pay and a man who does not like to be kept waiting."
"Where did she go?" I ask, though I already know the answer doesn't matter. To him, she’s just a ghost now.
"It doesn't matter," he says, putting a piece of meat in his mouth and chewing slowly. "The Hale arrangement still stands. Alistair Hale is expecting a Carter girl to arrive at his gates by midnight. He’s never laid eyes on Zara, he’s never met her in person, and he is too busy to be doing background checks on which twin is which. You understand what that means, don't you?"
My stomach drops, a cold, heavy weight settling in my gut that makes me want to be sick right there on the rug.
"Father," I say, my voice shaking just a little, "I'm not Zara. We have the same face, but I'm not her. I don't know the things she knows."
"You have her eyes, you have her hair, and right now, you have her life," he interrupts, leaning forward until I can see the broken veins in his eyes. "You think I’m asking? You think this is a choice? The Hales have been paying for your mother’s doctors for three years. They pay for this roof. They pay for the clothes you’re wearing. If Alistair Hale doesn't get his bride, those checks stop, and your mother is out on the street with nothing but her cough to keep her warm. Do you want that?"
"No," I whisper.
"Then you are Zara. From this moment on, Ivy Carter is dead. You are the girl who is going to marry a billionaire so this family can survive. Are we clear?"
"She was the one you wanted," I say, the bitterness leaking out before I can stop it. "You spent every cent on her. You gave her the tutors, the dresses, the parties. You kept me in the library, hidden away like a secret you were ashamed of. I’m the invisible one, remember? You said I was the backup."
"And the backup is being called in," he says, standing up and wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Go to your room. Pack a bag. One small bag. They come for you in an hour. If you say a single word to the driver that isn't Zara’s name, I will make sure you regret it."
"What about Mom? Can I see her?" I ask, my heart hammering against my ribs.
"She’s sleeping. Leave her be. She doesn't need to see what a disappointment her daughters are."
I turn and walk away before a second slap can land, my legs feeling like they belong to a stranger. I climb the stairs, the wood creaking under my feet, and I walk past the closed door where my mother stays. From inside, I hear it. That wet, dragging cough, the sound of her lungs fighting for air. I want to go in. I want to tell her I'm leaving, that I’m scared, that I don't know how to be a person someone would want to marry.
But I don't. Because if I go in, I’ll fall apart, and if I fall apart, my father will hear me.
In my room, the air feels cold. I pull a small suitcase from under the bed and start throwing things in. A few sweaters. A pair of jeans. I see the book Zara left on my nightstand, a trashy romance novel she thought was funny. I pick it up, feeling the weight of it, the ghost of her hands on the pages. She was always the golden one. She was the one who was supposed to save us. I was just the shadow that followed her around, the girl who read books and watched from the corners while she learned how to smile for the cameras.
I put the book back on the shelf. I can’t take it. I can't take anything that belongs to Ivy.
I catch myself in the mirror. I have the same emerald eyes as her, the same long, dark hair, the same pale skin. But while Zara’s eyes were always bright and demanding, mine are quiet.
"You're not Ivy," I tell my reflection, my voice sounds strange in the empty room. "You're Zara. You're the prize."
The sound of a car pulling up the gravel driveway makes me jump. It’s a low, heavy sound, the sound of an expensive engine. I zip the bag, my hands finally stopping their shaking. I don't say goodbye to the house. I don't say goodbye to the cough. I just walk down the stairs.
My father is standing by the front door. He doesn't hug me. He doesn't even look me in the eye. He just opens the door and points to the black limousine idling in the dark.
"Don't fail me," he says.
"I’m doing this for Mom," I say, stepping past him into the night air. "Not for you." And I step past him.
I get into the back of the car. The leather is cool and smells nice. The door closes with a quiet, solid click, a sound that feels like a prison cell locking. I watch through the tinted glass as the house gets smaller, the lights of my mother’s bedroom flickering once before they disappear behind the trees.
The driver is a man in a sharp suit, his eyes meeting mine in the rearview mirror for a second.
"Good evening, Miss Carter," he says. "Mr. Hale is very much looking forward to your arrival."
"Thank you," I say, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm looking forward to it too."
The lie feels like a stone in my mouth. And I look out at the dark road, my mind racing.

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Heartbroken, Sable discovered Darrell having sex with his ex in their bed, while secretly transferring hundreds of thousands to support that woman.
Even worse was overhearing Darrell laugh to his friends: "She's useful—obedient, doesn't cause trouble, handles housework, and I can fuck her whenever I need relief. She's basically a live-in maid with benefits." He made crude thrusting gestures, sending his friends into laughter.
In despair, Sable left, reclaimed her true identity, and married her childhood neighbor—Lycan King Caelan, nine years her senior and her fated mate. Now Darrell desperately tries to win her back. How will her revenge unfold?
From substitute to queen—her revenge has just begun!
Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
The mafia princess return
Accidentally Crossing the Tycoon
Four years ago, the Bailey family faced a devastating financial crisis.
Just when bankruptcy seemed inevitable, a mysterious benefactor emerged, offering salvation with one condition: a contract marriage.
Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."
