Introduction
Chapter 1
Keira POVI thought I was dreaming.
Warm light filled my vision—soft, unreal—and the bond mark on my wrist burned gently, exactly as it should on the day a mate was claimed.
Bonded to the new Alpha.
The thought alone made my stomach flutter.
Footsteps approached. I didn’t need to look. My wolf already knew him—his scent, his pull, the way the bond hummed under my skin.
I turned just as Derrik reached me.
My mate.
My Alpha.
He didn’t waste time.
His hand closed around my waist and yanked me flush against him, his mouth crashing into mine. His teeth caught my lower lip, sharp enough to draw blood, and the sting sent a jolt straight between my thighs.
I moaned into his mouth.
His fingers slid into my hair, tightening as he pulled me closer, a sound escaping him—half growl, half moan—as my body answered instinctively, heat pooling low and fast.
“Fuck,” he breathed against my lips.
I arched into him, nails digging into his shoulders. “I like a man who knows what he wants.”
“I know exactly what you want.”
His fingers slipped beneath the lace of my thong, dragging it aside. I gasped as he circled my clit, once, twice—just enough to make my hips jerk.
“Damn—yes—”
“Shh.”
Two fingers slid inside me, curling deliberately, finding the spot that made my breath shatter. “You want the whole pack hearing how wet you are for me?”
I bit my lip. “Fuck you.”
“Not yet.”
He added a third finger, slow and deep, his thumb pressing down on my clit as my hips rocked helplessly against his hand. My breaths came in sharp, broken gasps.
“Soon,” he murmured into my ear. “I’ll make you cum first. Make you beg.”
“I don’t beg.”
His fingers twisted just right.
“You will.”
“I’ve been patient,” I shot back breathlessly. “Now fuck me.”
He spun me around and pressed me against the door, the cool wood a shock against my overheated skin. My ass ground back into his erection as he yanked my thong down.
“Spread your legs.”
I obeyed.
Dropping on his knees, I cried out when his tongue dragged from my ass to my dripping cunt.
“Oh…fuck…”
My hips rocked back as his tongue pushed inside me, wet and relentless, his thumb circling my clit. My fingers scraped against the door as the pressure built too fast, too hard.
“Gonna cum for me?” he murmured, pulling back just enough to blow cool air over my swollen lips.
“Yes—yes—”
He sucked my clit between his lips, fingers pistoning inside me until my body locked up, my cry breaking as I came hard around his hand.
He didn’t stop until I was shaking.
Then he stood up.
I turned, eyes glazed, watching as he freed his cock—thick, veined, leaking. My tongue slid over my lip without thinking.
“On your knees.”
I obeyed instantly.
I took him into my mouth, lips closing around the head as my tongue traced the slit. His groan was deep, rough, his hips rolling forward.
“That’s it,” he said. “Take it.”
I hollowed my cheeks, taking him deeper, feeling him throb against my tongue.
“You like being mine?” he asked. “Like making me lose control?”
I pulled off with a wet pop. “I like watching you try.”
He growled and hauled me up by my hair, crashing his mouth into mine. I tasted myself on his tongue.
Then he shoved me onto the bed.
He spread my legs wide, his gaze dark as he lined himself up.
The first thrust split me open.
I screamed, nails raking down his back as he drove into me, hard and deep, his forehead pressing to mine.
“Fuck,” I gasped.
He fucked me like he owned me—hips snapping forward, each thrust slamming into that spot that made my voice break.
“Harder,” I begged, legs locking around him. “Please—”
He flipped me onto my stomach, yanked my hips up, and drove into me from behind.
With a growl, he buried himself deep and came with me, hot and thick, filling me as my body trembled beneath his.
He got dressed and left the room, claiming that he had some alpha business that couldn’t wait a bit , promising we would revisit that for more later at night.
I got dressed and laid on the bed, savoring the moment but it was cut short when my younger sister, Lois walked toward me with a bright smile.
“Congratulations,” she said softly. “You deserve it.”
My chest swelled. I pulled her into a hug, laughing breathlessly. “I can’t believe it,” I said. “Everything feels unreal.”
In a split second, my smile faded and was instantly replaced with excruciating pain.
For a second, my mind refused to understand. There was pressure, then heat, then a sharp, tearing pain that ripped the air from my lungs. I looked down.
I looked down and saw a dagger was buried in my stomach. Before I could say a words, the dagger was twisted and I could hear the scrunching sounds of my insides.
Blood spilled immediately, as my legs weakened. I clutched her arm, staring at her face in confusion.
“Lois…?” My voice came out broken. My heart was aching as much as the stab was.
She twisted the dagger violently. Almost as if she enjoyed ripping me apart from inside.
Pain exploded through me.
Her smile vanished, replaced by a look so cold it made my skin crawl. Her eyes were wide, frantic, burning with hatred.
“I am his fated mate!” she screamed, her voice cracking. “I am the future Luna! You fool!”
She yanked the dagger out and stabbed me again.
I fell to my knees. The world tilted. The sounds of celebration disappeared, replaced by ringing silence. My hands shook as I tried to press against the wound, but blood kept pouring through my fingers.
She leaned close, her breath hot against my ear.
“You should have known your place,” she hissed.
Then everything went black.
***
I jolted awake with a scream.
My body jerked violently, pain tearing through my abdomen so sharply that I couldn’t breathe.
I blinked rapidly.
Bodies were everywhere.
Human corpses lay twisted in unnatural positions, their eyes open and empty. Wolves, half-shifted and fully shifted, were piled among them, limbs torn off, ribcages crushed, fur matted with dried blood. Severed arms lay scattered across the ground. One wolf’s head rested several feet away from its body, its mouth frozen open.
I slapped a hand over my mouth, bile burning my throat.
This wasn’t a dream at all.
I tried to scramble backward, but my hands slipped on wet ground. My palms came away slick with blood that wasn’t mine
I cried out and dragged myself away, my legs barely responding. Every movement sent fire through my abdomen. I crawled over bodies, my knees scraping against stone and bone, my breath coming in short, desperate gasps.
Trees appeared ahead so I pushed myself forward, using my elbows when my arms gave out. When I finally reached the trees, I collapsed against one of them, half-sitting, half-fallen.
I was dying.
“No,” I whispered hoarsely. “Not like this.”
I forced myself to focus. Panic would kill me faster than the wound. I closed my eyes briefly, breathing through clenched teeth, reaching for what I had been trained to do since childhood.
I was a healer.
My eyes scanned the forest floor. I tore the leaves with shaking hands, crushing them between my palms until the sap coated my skin. The pain nearly made me black out when I pressed the pulp directly onto the wound.
I screamed, biting down on my sleeve to keep the sound from carrying.
The bleeding slowed, then steadied. I ripped strips of cloth from my dress, my fingers numb and clumsy, and wrapped them tightly around my abdomen.
When it was done, I sagged back against the tree, chest heaving.
A sound made me freeze.
“You’re finally awake.”
“Who’s there?” I demanded.
“I am your wolf spirit.”

Kieran Vaughn. Wealthy lawyer, werewolf, and apparently, he thinks I'm his mate.
Here's the problem: I don't do relationships. I definitely don't do supernatural things. I absolutely don't do rich guys who think they can control my life just because their inner wolf has decided I smell like home.
When hunters start targeting me to get to him, Kieran drags me into his pristine penthouse for "protection." Now I'm living with a man who looks at me like I'm his last meal, whose touch sets my skin on fire, and who's barely holding onto his control.
He says everyone he loves dies. I say that's not my problem except it is because I'm falling for this broken, dangerous man and his beast.
And in his world? Love will get you killed.

Enough was enough.
After he publicly humiliates her and chooses the mistress’s daughter over his own son during a birthday party, something inside her finally snaps. His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.

He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
