Chapter 1
[Rosalie's POV]
“One.”
I swallow down the knot that is beginning to form in my throat.
“Two.”
My body comes alive in anticipation of the chase that is about to come.
“Three.”
I burst forward, throwing myself into the labyrinth ahead of me while the blare of trumpets ring out around me.
Together with many others, I rush forward in hopes of gaining my freedom and escaping doom. From this point on it is every man and woman for themselves and if you dare get in anyone's way they'll trample you.
“You better run and hide, because when I catch you, you're mine, little criminal.”
I don't look back as the cold voice echoes around me. It causes my heart to leap and my stomach to churn while I continue to move further into the labyrinth.
This is how it works at the auctions. You are sold to the highest bidder, but before you go to them, you are given the opportunity for freedom. Once sold, you are sent to the labyrinth and set free. Then it all came down to luck and skill. If you manage to avoid being caught by the one who bought you, you get to go free and start a new life away from the hell that was prison. If you were caught, you would end up in a whole new one, depending on who exactly bought you.
Usually the buyers are powerful men who are looking for toys to pass the time. They used you. They fucked you. They abused you, and then they either threw you away or killed you. That was the fate you faced, but some were worse than others, and my buyer was the worst there was.
Diego Aguilar is the most ruthless and cold-blooded king to exist in thousands of years. And the only lycan to exist in our world. He killed without blinking, and if you crossed him even a bit, he would destroy you no matter who you were.
Why I was unlucky enough to be bought by him was beyond me, but it was simply another round of bad luck added to the pile of demons I was carrying.
“You're slowing down, little criminal,” Diego laughs, taunting me as I continue to push forward while roots and branches try to stop me. “If I knew any better, I'd say you want me to catch you.”
No! I didn't want to be caught. I didn't want to die yet! Not until I was able to destroy all those who slowly sent me down that dark hole of despair.
“Run, run, little criminal!” He taunts as claws rake across my back. “Your fear smells fucking delicious.”
Eyes widening, I bite back the scream that wants to escape as I round a corner and start rushing toward what looks to be another.
As I move, I can hear the hoots and cheers of those who are watching the whole thing. Their disgusting voices just solidify my determination. They were no better than my family and my husband, and they all deserved to be punished.
‘That's right,’ the dark voice who was always with me purrs. ‘Punish them. Punish them all.’
At its words, I feel something in me beginning to rise, but I push it back down before it can take over.
No. I couldn't let it free, not here and now. If I did, I would surely be killed, and I need to stay alive. It was because I let go that I was in this situation in the first place. If I hadn't listened to its siren call, I wouldn't have ended up doing that and would still be trapped in the clutches of my husband.
'It was for the best,' the voice cackles. 'He hurt us, and in return, we hurt him and all those other bastards he brought.'
'Stop it!' I hiss, desperately pushing the voice aside. 'Just...'
“Move!”
Gasping, I feel myself being grabbed and thrown into a thorny wall that rips at my skin and clothes and twists into my long, dark matted hair.
“No,” I hiss, beginning to fight to free myself. “Not like this!”
“There you are, little criminal.”
With wide eyes, I turn my gaze toward the voice and take him in as he lumbers toward me with a look of promise in his eyes.
“Did you really think you could escape?” He continues, reaching out and wrapping a hand around my throat. “I never let go of what is mine.”
As he speaks, he pulls me away from the thorns and vines that slowly wrap around my skin. It’s painful, and although I want to cry out from the deep scratches that are left behind and the bit of hair that has been left behind, I can’t. I can’t show weakness, not in front of this terrifying man or anyone else.
“I see you want to scream, little criminal,” he growls, throwing me against the growl and then pouncing. “Here, let me help you.”
“No!” I hiss, trying to fight him as he uses a large hand to spread my legs. “Let me go!”
“Not gonna happen,” he husks close to my ear. “I paid good money for you, and I don’t intend on letting it go to waste.”
“No!” I repeat, attempting to fight harder. “Please, just let me…AH!”
I cry out in pain as he bites down hard on my neck, and what feels like fire begins to race along my skin. What was happening? What was he doing? Was he… No! He couldn’t be! He was marking me!
Pulling away, he licks my blood from his lips and stares down at me with those fathomless eyes of his, leaving me feeling like I’m being sucked into their abyss while his lips twitch into a handsome but deadly smile.
“Now you’re mine, little criminal,” he growls, reaching down and tearing my shirt so my chest is exposed. “And I’ll kill any fucking body that tries to take you away from me!”
“Please,” I whimper, realizing that he is too strong for me to break free from. “Please just let me go! I’ll do whatever you want, just please!”
Closing my eyes, I try to block out the screams and moans that are erupting all around me while my own pursuer tightens his hold on my throat, making the world spin and my ears ring. This was the other part of the game. If we were captured, our buyers could take us right here and now, marking us as their own so that anyone watching knew to stay away.
With each passing minute, I curse fate and the goddess herself for dealing me the hand she did, and I wonder what I ever did to deserve any of this. Did I cross the wrong person in a past life? I didn't know, and right now I don't care as Diego's mouth forcefully finds mine.
How did I get into this mess, you may ask? It started long ago when I was born as the illegitimate child of a powerful alpha. Since that day, my life was destined to be hell, and I would be led down a dark path that ended with blood on my hands in the name of survival.

I rushed forward. “Amara. Stop traumatizing these poor people.”
She spun around, delighted. “Sera! Good, you’re here. Taste this. It’s missing despair.”
The chef’s face morphed into existential crisis.
I grabbed her arm. “Put the spatula down.”
“But—”
“Down.”
With exaggerated offense, she dropped the spatula and muttered, “Fine. But if no one here has artistic vision, that’s not my fault.”

I shivered.
Alyssa Reynolds found herself in a situation, while returning home from work, and she had three choices:
Simply walk away and forget that you ever heard the sound of wailing infants.
Call the police and inform them about the innocent wails.
Follow the sounds of the wails and take the matter in your hands, deciding what to do later.
Being a kindhearted soul and a sucker for babies, she found herself choosing the third option, finding the two little lives.
Two little lives that changed her whole life, her love life included. Her life now revolved around the babies as diapers, vomit and shit seemed to surround her.
Just when she thought that now it's just her and the babies, her whole world flipped over and she found herself living under the same roof as the egotistical, obnoxious and hot-as-hell Terence Powers, the business tycoon who was not going to let the woman fend off for herself and the babies alone.

Ruined : You will always be mine.
“Fuckkk”, I couldn’t help but scream.
“You need to learn to be obedient” he said as he kept thrusting into me. When I felt his hands on my clit my body shook.
“Asher please, it’s too much”.
“No. if I really wanted to punish you, I would give you all of me”, he said against my ears and my entire body froze. Suddenly he moved and I was standing again. This man was insane.
I felt him behind me. “Ten Lashes for your disobedience”, he said
“Asher please”,
“No”. His voice was cold and void of any emotion.

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
Genevieve loses a bet she can’t afford to pay. In a compromise, she agrees to convince any man her opponent chooses to go home with her that night. The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
Ella never imagined she would marry the man she had secretly loved for years in such a way.
When her brother Theo faced twenty-five years in prison for massive embezzlement, the ruthless business tycoon James Lancaster offered her a deal: marry him in exchange for her brother's freedom.

The Unwritten Princess
My name is Mia, and everything I touch is dying.
The flowers beneath my mother's window turned black overnight. The herbs I gathered at dawn rotted in my hands. When the court wizard finally told me the truth—that someone cursed me, that my presence would kill everyone I love—I realized the prophecy everyone believed was never meant to save the kingdom. It was meant to destroy me.
So I ran. Not to fulfill some destiny, but to survive it.
Now I'm traveling with a hunter who lost his companions to the same curse I carry, chasing fragments of a prophecy the Fae sing differently. An elf took a baby from the palace the night I was born. And somewhere between the lies I've been told and the truth I'm hunting, I'm starting to suspect: What if I'm not the princess from the prophecy at all?
Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
