The MC’s Matriarch
allisonslau1986 · Ongoing · 34.6k Words
Introduction
New Mexico, 1986. Nineteen-year-old Marge knows exactly what people will say about her falling for Frank, the president of the Sons of Doom MC. He’s thirteen years older, a Vietnam veteran, and a man with a brotherhood to lead.
She wants him anyway.
What begins with attraction becomes a marriage and a family worth every whispered judgment. Frank gives her a life she loves—and when she loses him, she stays with the people who need her.
Decades later, Marge still has a sharp tongue, a full house of bikers to fuss over, and an opinion nobody asked for. She’s comfortable being the woman everyone depends on.
Raúl Serrano is making her uncomfortable.
She likes his company. She likes flirting with him. Admitting she wants more is where things get complicated.
Raúl understands loving someone who’s gone. He has his own memories, his own grief, and enough patience to let her talk about Frank without making her regret it.
He also makes her feel wanted in ways she hasn’t allowed herself to miss.
Marge has spent years telling grown men to get their heads out of their asses.
Now she’s running out of excuses to keep hers there.
Chapter 1
Marge’s POV
Current Day
“You want to hear about the first time I slept with Frank?”
Bobby stopped opening his laptop. “I asked how you met.”
“Then you ought to be more specific.”
“How the hell was that not specific?”
I smiled at him across the bar at the Devil’s Den and pulled the notebook closer. “You walked into that one, baby.”
He pushed the laptop aside. “I can leave.”
“You can sit your ass down and look at these pictures.”
I slid the box toward him before he could make good on the threat. He had brought me the notebook that morning, along with three pens and an offer to put everything on his computer. I had asked for something to write in. Apparently, that required technical support.
The stage lights were off, and the whole place still smelled of floor cleaner. I’d chosen the morning so nobody would interrupt us, then spent half of it hoping somebody would.
Bobby took the photograph from the top of the pile.
“You were nineteen here?”
“On my wedding day, yes.”
He studied it, then looked at me.
“Go on. Say something about how young I look.”
“I was going to say you look happy.”
I reached across the bar and straightened the photograph between his fingers. Frank had his arm around me, and I was pressed against his side. I could remember wanting everybody to finish taking pictures so I could have my husband to myself.
“I was.”
Bobby set it beside the notebook. “You should start there.”
“With the wedding?”
“With whatever you remember when you look at it.”
I uncapped a pen, held it over the page, then put the cap back on.
“That’s a hell of a lot.”
“Good. You’ve got three hundred pages.”
“Listen to you. Counting my words before I’ve written any.”
“You asked me to help.”
“I asked you to buy a notebook.”
“And you called me twice to make sure I hadn’t forgotten.”
I waved him off, but he was right. The first call had been about the notebook. The second had been because I wanted him to come sit with me while I opened the box.
He didn’t need to know that.
Bobby drew another picture out, careful with the bent corner. I had expected him to make some crack about the clothes or ask whether Larry had ever looked young. Instead, he kept looking between the photographs and the blank page.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing.”
“Bobby.”
He rubbed his thumb along the edge of the bar. “I wish you’d started this before.”
“Well, I’ve been busy raising a bunch of grown men who can’t find clean towels without supervision.”
“I’m serious.”
“I know you are.”
“After you got shot, I kept thinking about things I’d never asked you.”
I stopped sorting the pictures.
He was looking down now, his shoulders hunched. I knew that posture. Usually, I could get him talking with a hand on his back and something to eat. There was food in the refrigerator, but I stayed where I was.
“You can ask me now.”
“That’s what I’m doing.”
“I mean the rest of it, too.”
He looked up. “I thought you were going to die.”
I reached for his hand. He let me take it, although he was twenty and wearing a patch and perfectly capable of pretending he didn’t need anybody.
“I was fucking scared, too.”
His fingers tightened around mine. I rubbed my thumb over his knuckles, the way I’d done when he was younger and too angry to explain what hurt.
“I don’t want you doing this because you think you have to leave something behind,” he said.
“I’m doing it because I want you to have it while I’m here to hear you complain about the dirty parts.”
“Marge.”
“I want to tell it, Bobby. I just didn’t expect getting started to be this damn hard.”
He nodded and stayed with me until I let go.
He reached for his laptop, then stopped.
“What?” I asked.
“I can scan these for you. You keep the pictures, and I keep a copy somewhere you can’t spill coffee on it.”
“I know what scanning is.”
“Then why are you looking at me like that?”
“Because you’re not taking this box home and returning it next Christmas.”
“I can do it today.”
“After I’m finished.”
“Okay.”
“And you’re not reading over my shoulder.”
He glanced at the bar between us. “That would take some effort.”
“You’d manage.”
He grinned and leaned back on his stool. I was glad to see it. I had missed that grin while he was sitting there trying to tell me how scared he’d been.
He looked at the wedding photograph again.
“Can I have a copy of that one?”
“Of course you can.”
“I mean a real one. Something I can put in a frame.”
I slid it toward him, but he shook his head.
“You keep yours. I’ll get another one made.”
I left my hand beside the picture. “You want me looking over your shoulder at home, too?”
“You already call.”
“And you could answer a little faster.”
“I answer.”
“Eventually.”
He laughed, and I reached across to straighten the collar of his cut. He put up with it, just as he always did when I found some excuse to fuss over him.
“Does anybody else know you’re doing this?” he asked.
“Not yet.”
“Want me to keep my mouth shut?”
“For now.”
He nodded without asking why. I appreciated that more than I could explain. It was one thing to tell a story when somebody asked over dinner. Sitting down with Frank’s pictures and trying to put our life on paper had left me wanting to pull the box against my chest.
Bobby glanced toward the door, then back at me.
“I can stay if you want.”
“I know, baby.”
He waited while I picked up the pen again.
“Go on,” I told him. “Let me get something written before you start charging for all this help.”
“I bought you the notebook.”
“Put it on my tab.”
“You have a tab?”
“I do now.”
He gathered his laptop and stood. I caught his shirt before he could turn away and leaned across the bar to kiss his cheek. He complained, but he bent without making me tug twice.
“Call me,” he said.
“You’ll answer?”
He gave me a look.
I was still smiling when the door closed behind him.
One corner of Frank’s photograph had curled. I held it flat with two fingers and looked at his arm around my waist. He’d pulled me close so often I used to complain that he couldn’t keep his hands to himself.
I pressed my thumb against his hand in the picture.
Then I moved it aside and found the one of him in uniform.
I had heard this part in his own voice, lying beside him after the lights were out.
I uncapped the pen and wrote the place and year at the top of the page.
Bien Hoa, Vietnam. October 1972.
Then I took a breath and began with the part Frank had always struggled to tell me: the men who didn’t come home.

Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.

Inked Adonis - Mafia Romance
Of me saying I want to climb him like a tree.
And he just. Texted. Back.
It's the dog's fault, really.
If this untrained Great Dane I'm walking had any manners at all, I never would've ended up here:
With my leash wrapped around the most gorgeous man I've ever seen.
Lucky for me, the guy is a good sport about it.
(Although his joke that “Dogs take after their owners” hits a little too close to home when Rufus starts humping his leg.)
He leaves me with his business card and a smile that makes my knees weak.
I'm still pinching myself as me and the bestie resume our walk.
“Methinks you had a little crush on him,” she accuses.
Not thinking and a little flustered by the whole experience, I reply, “I’d wrap my legs around his waist tighter than that leash.”
THAT'S when she reveals that she'd been recording my response.
THAT'S when she gives me the most devilish grin I've ever seen and says, “You're welcome.”
And THAT'S when she hands me my phone and reveals...
She sent the recording to him.
My heart is in my throat as those three little dots appear…
Then a text.
“PROVE IT.”

She should have pushed him away, but she kissed him back instead.
Now Clare is locked into a two-month fake relationship with the most infuriating man she has ever met, trying to get over a stepbrother who never cared and survive a captain who makes her forget why she was supposed to hate him.
The problem is that Rhys kisses like he means every single second of it, and just when Clare starts to move on, Zane decides he wants her back.
One girl, two hockey players, and a heart that was never supposed to feel this much. Will she choose the stepbrother who broke her or the enemy who caught her when she fell?
MOONLIT CHASE
But no, I had to walk through the park at midnight like an idiot. Now I've seen something I can't unsee—a massive black wolf tearing apart three men, then shifting into the hottest guy I've ever laid eyes on.
Kieran Vaughn. Wealthy lawyer, werewolf, and apparently, he thinks I'm his mate.
Here's the problem: I don't do relationships. I definitely don't do supernatural things. I absolutely don't do rich guys who think they can control my life just because their inner wolf has decided I smell like home.
When hunters start targeting me to get to him, Kieran drags me into his pristine penthouse for "protection." Now I'm living with a man who looks at me like I'm his last meal, whose touch sets my skin on fire, and who's barely holding onto his control.
He says everyone he loves dies. I say that's not my problem except it is because I'm falling for this broken, dangerous man and his beast.
And in his world? Love will get you killed.

My Husband's Secretary Wore My Dress
Those words shattered Vivian's heart.
For three years, she endured her husband's coldness and his secretary's endless provocations.
She never knew that the woman he trusted most had stolen her identity.
Or that the man she loved had secretly loved her all along.
When the truth finally came out, it was already too late.
Vivian had divorced him.
She had disappeared with his unborn child.
And she had no intention of coming back.
Five years later, the former ballerina returned as the sole heiress of a powerful family.
Standing beside her was a little girl with eyes identical to Caden Lux's.
The billionaire who once ignored her had gone mad.
He blocked her in the dressing room, knelt before her, and even accepted the possibility that another man had taken his place.
Because losing his pride was nothing.
Losing Vivian had nearly killed him.

Could she ever forgive the man who chose another woman over his own wife?
Unwanted Mate Of The Lycan Kings
Ripped from her bed and thrown into a world of blood and treachery, Zirah’s fate is sealed, a forced marriage to one of the three Lycan Kings, each more monstrous than the last.
These kings, cursed by their sins, pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, and gluttony are at war, fighting to claim their father’s throne. But the last thing any of them want is a queen.
To them, Zirah is nothing but a pawn, an object to be used, discarded, or destroyed.
But they underestimate her.
If they think she will cower, they are wrong.
If they believe she will bow, they will bleed.
And if they want to break her, they’ll have to survive her first.
Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
