Introduction
As Blackthorn discovers the Heart of Shadows: a dark force that feeds on his rage and twists him into something monstrous, Isabella and James become the only threat to his rising power. Forced to flee the man who owns her and the magic that corrupts him, they are swept into a rebellion determined to topple the tyrants who rule their world.
To survive, Isabella must choose not just who she loves, but who she will become: the frightened princess promised to a monster, or the queen who will burn an empire to reclaim her destiny.
Chapter 1
The Kingdom of Vespera was once a jewel of the seas, its harbors teeming with ships from every corner of the world. Gold poured in, streets glittered with wealth, and merchants sang praises of its prosperity. Time is merciless. The coffers had run dry, the trade routes had shifted, and whispers of rebellion echoed through the crumbling markets. What had once been a crown of glory now teetered on the edge of ruin. In the vast marble hall of the royal palace, King Edmund stood hunched over a table littered with ledgers and maps. Candlelight cast deep shadows under his eyes. His crown, once polished to brilliance, looked dull, tarnished by worry.
“Our coffers are empty, Adrianna,” he said, voice strained, nearly breaking. “If nothing changes, we will lose everything. The people starve while our enemies circle like vultures. The crown is slipping from my grasp.”
At his side, Queen Adrianna pressed her hands together until her knuckles whitened. Her once-bright gaze had dimmed with sleepless nights. “There must be another way,” she whispered, desperation lacing every word. “We cannot surrender to despair.”
Before the king could answer, the great doors slammed open with a violent crack that echoed through the chamber. Both monarchs turned sharply as a figure cloaked in black strode into the hall. His steps were unhurried, yet every strike of his boots echoed with command. Torchlight caught the glint of gold at his belt, the hilt of a curved blade at his side, and the cold steel in his eyes.
“I am Captain Blackthorn,” the stranger declared, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. “Pirate King of the southern seas. I bring you an offer that may yet save your dying throne.”
The king’s jaw clenched as he straightened, fury barely contained. “You dare enter my castle unbidden?”
Blackthorn only smiled, his lips curling into a wolfish grin. His teeth caught the firelight, gleaming like a predator’s. “You need me, King Edmund. And I need you.”
Queen Adrianna’s breath hitched. “What do you want from us?” she asked, though she already feared the answer.
“A marriage alliance.” Blackthorn’s tone was smooth, confident. “Treasure beyond your wildest dreams, in exchange for the hand of your daughter, Princess Isabella.”
The words struck like thunder.
Adrianna gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. Edmund’s face darkened, his voice sharp as steel. “My daughter is not a prize to be bartered.”
Blackthorn’s grin widened, unshaken. “Call it what you will. With my fortune and your kingdom’s harbors, together we will forge an empire greater than any that has ever sailed these seas. Without me,” His eyes gleamed dangerously. “Vespera will crumble into dust.”
The silence that followed pressed down like an iron weight. Even the torches seemed to sputter in dread.
Finally, Edmund exhaled a ragged breath. “We will consider your proposal.”
Blackthorn inclined his head in mock respect, as though he had already won. “Two days,” he said. “That is all I give you.” Then he swept from the hall, the air colder in his wake.
That night, the king and queen sat in silence by the dying fire. Neither spoke at first. The crackle of flames filled the void between them.
“We are trapped, Adrianna,” Edmund whispered at last, his voice hollow. “Every option is gone. Without this alliance, there will be no kingdom left to rule.”
Tears shone in the queen’s eyes. “To give our daughter to a pirate, it feels like treachery against her, against everything we swore to protect.”
“It is survival,” Edmund said, his hand trembling as it gripped hers. “Survival must come before pride.”
Adrianna closed her eyes, but the tears slipped free. She knew he was right. That was the worst part. The next morning, I entered the throne room, my steps hesitant but steady. Sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows, painting the floor in fractured colors. Yet the beauty did nothing to ease the dread twisting inside me.
My father looked up as I approached. He seemed older than I remembered, his shoulders hunched, his face carved with grief. My mother stood beside him, her gaze red-rimmed, her hands folded tightly as if in prayer.
“What troubles you, Father?” I asked, though my heart already pounded with a terrible guess.
Edmund’s eyes met mine, and in them I saw only sorrow.
“Isabella,” His voice cracked. “You must marry Captain Blackthorn.”
The words shattered me. My breath caught, and the room spun.
“Father, no,” My voice trembled, but anger bled through. “I have heard the stories. He is ruthless. A murderer. You cannot ask this of me!”
My mother’s voice broke as she stepped forward, reaching for my hand. “We have no choice, my love. He offers enough gold to save our people. Without it,” Her voice faltered, choked with despair. “The kingdom will not survive the year.”
Tears blurred my vision. “So I am nothing but a pawn in his game?”
Neither answered. Their silence was louder than any words.
At last, I lowered my head, my throat raw. “Very well. If this is what is required of me, I will obey.”
"When are we to be married?" I timidly asked.
"In two days time." My mother said, without looking at me.
Two days. That was all the time I had before my world would be bound in chains. By dawn, the royal seamstress entered my chambers, her arms burdened with white silk. My heart sank as the gown unfolded before me. It was no dress of innocence. The fabric clung scandalously, shaped to flaunt rather than conceal. A gown made not for a bride, but for a conquest.
I recoiled as though struck. “Is this truly my wedding dress?”
The seamstress hesitated, guilt flickering in her eyes, before she nodded. “It was Captain Blackthorn’s design.”
My hands curled into fists, nails biting into my palms until pain cut through despair. Rage surged beneath my sorrow, hot and sharp. He would dress me as his prize, parade me before the court like a treasure he had plundered. I turned from the mirror, my voice a whisper, but laced with steel. He may take my hand. He may claim my crown. He will never claim my heart and soul.

I Found the Babies

I shivered.
Alyssa Reynolds found herself in a situation, while returning home from work, and she had three choices:
Simply walk away and forget that you ever heard the sound of wailing infants.
Call the police and inform them about the innocent wails.
Follow the sounds of the wails and take the matter in your hands, deciding what to do later.

The Alpha's Stripper Mate
"What?" It was out of my mouth before I could stop it. I did not wait for him to answer me, I walked toward him.
"Dance on my lap."
My head screamed at me to turn around and run. But my whole body responded to his command.
"Yes, Alpha," I pulled my dress over my body, it dropped over my head and fell to the ground behind me. I was left in nothing but my matching bra and thong. My hands covered my chest on reflex.
"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
"No touching."

I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
