The billionaire surrogate

Jayde Clinton is a twenty-five years old lady that has been struggling to keep up with what life has been throwing her. Jayde has to work night shifts to get money for herself and her mother.
Her mother got a loan from one of the loan sharks and she couldn't pay it off.
She was taken and Jayde had to turn up. So, they would release her mother and keep her hostage till her mother pays up.
There, she meets with Beatrice Everett, a famous billionaire whose daughter ran away because of a marriage contract between her and the son of a billionaire, Henry Carson.
Since Jayde looks exactly like Beatrice's daughter, she made a deal to release her mother and even pay her a million naira if she can be a surrogate for Hattie Everett.
To save her mother, Jayde agreed. She tries to keep herself away from Henry and only had to see whenever it's necessary.
In the course of it, Jayde finds herself falling deeply in love with Henry. She didn't know what to do with the man that wasn't hers and would never be hers. Henry has also started to reciprocate her love which seems to be confusing for her. Because to Henry, she is supposed to be Hattie Everett

What will Jayde choose to do? What will happen especially when Hattie returns to take her place beside Henry.

Chapter 1

Chapter one

Jayde

I take my bag and look at myself in the mirror for the last time.

I don't look good, sincerely but I'm not bad either.

All I have to wear are my mom's clothes. That's how life is for me. I've been struggling to keep up with the good things of life after my father's death.

My father's death came as a huge blow to us. We were not rich but we never starved when he was alive.

I used to think I would be a beautician. I've always dreamt of becoming one. My father at that time showered me with everything I wanted.

I was an only child and so, I always got everything I wanted.

Who knows how he died. They only brought him one day and told us he collapsed while working and died instantly. After crying for days, we went to them to give me my father's salary but they said my father had lots of debts to pay off. And they had used his money for it.

Mom didn't really work those days. He was a petty trader but now she has to double her hustle.

Life is hard for me. Earning money isn't easy. I have to work the night shift to be able to afford a three-square meal.

Now, I'm going to the bar for the night duties.

I feel so tired already but I can't rest yet.

I am using my money for school. I need to go to school and create an office of mine. So, I can officially be a beautician.

Mom isn't at home. She will be back later in the night. But I need to go now.

I pick my phone from the table and walk out of the house.

Is there hope for me in the future? Will things ever be normal for me?

Well, I don't think so. I don't even think life can get any better.

I wave for a taxi to stop.

The car pulls to a stop beside me, " Number 24, Magic street," I tell the chauffeur.

"Get in," he replies.

I hop in and he drove straight to the bar.

I pay him and walk with fast strides to the bar.

I see Jayden and wave at him. He's the DJ of this popular bar. The reason why I like him is that he bears a name similar to mine.

People call us twins here as well. And well, he's the only one I'm close with.

I enter the restroom and put on a red gown I brought a month ago. Since Mrs. Maggie Lincorn never allows baggy clothes. I had to get two nice gowns for my job.

It looks good on me and somehow brings out my shape but it's something I can't even afford to get.

I walk out and resume my post.

Just immediately, Weston and Declan walk in.

Oh My, the ladies in the bar whoops with delight. The guys jubilate and I can't help but gawk at them.

These guys are the Billionaires of Aylesbury. These two are friends and sons of a billionaire. They are not only rich, but they are also handsome. They call themselves Ayles billionaires. Actually, they used to be three as I've heard. I heard the third is out of the country currently. The third guy's name is Henry.

One of the reasons why I love coming here is because I always have things to feast my eyes on. I don't even have a TV at home.

Just immediately, three-woman moves nearer. These women are also Ayles best. They are the sexiest and beautiful and the best of all Aylesbury ladies. They call themselves Ayles beaut but they are April, Jamie, and Bonnie

And damn, I mustn't lie. These ladies makes me wonder how my life came to be this way. Maybe if my dad hadn't died, I might be on my way to looking that beautiful. Or maybe not. I'm not destined for something like this.

My life is so twisted.

Gwen has gone to take the Ayles billionaire order. Well, I trust Gwen to do it. She has a huge crush on Declan. So, she's always threatening me never to move close to their table whenever they are in. I'm not even allowed to look at them.

I move to the next table and clear the table. I move to Samson.

There's currently nothing to do. So, I stand and watch what Gwen was doing.

She moves closer to Declan that was busy chatting with Bonnie. His hands were doing the work behind her, touching her ass slightly.

Maybe Gwen loves it but it's irritating to me. How can he be squeezing someone's ass? I see it all as nonsense.

"Gwen is really not still considering her feelings for Declan? Declan is a bastard," Samson says beside me and shakes his head. He seems to be looking at the view I'm watching as well.

Well, let's get this iron out. Declan is a skirt chaser while Weston is a playboy. According to the rumors, only Henry is manageable. I heard he doesn't have a girlfriend presently but he's stubborn and choosy. I just wonder what Henry kind of man is doing with Weston and Declan.

They are like day and night.

I look at Samson again, "I will be back in a jiffy," I tell him and maneuver through the chair into the restroom.

I wash my hand and look at myself in the mirror fastened to the wall.

Declan still notices Gwen. In fact, on most occasions, he would dash her money. But no one notices me. I'm always invisible everywhere I go.

It's all for the better anyway, I don't care about it.

I walk out of the restroom only to bump into a hard wall. Actually, it's a hard chest and the person is a guy.

I bend slowly, "I'm so sorry," I made to walk away but I was forced back.

I gasp and lookup. Declan?

My heartbeat increases drastically. His cologne mounted to my nose. How can he smell so good?

He let go of me with disgust.

"Ouch," he says and brings out a hand sanitizer. He pours some amount of it on the hand he held me with. He rubs it slowly. And I must say, I feel pained in my heart by the action.

He's right anyways. To him, I'm just a dirty girl but he doesn't have to run it in my face.

He looks up at me now, "You bumped into me.".

"I'm sorry," I bow my head and make to walk away but his hands pull me to another sudden stop.

I'm forced to look at him in the eyes. What does he want from me now?

"He wipes his hand with the sanitizer again, "Why do you keep making me waste this thing," he says drunkenly. Maybe he's really drunk. He looks at me now, " You bumped into me. You are supposed to apologize normally."

I raise a brow at him, surprised, " I've apologized. How am I supposed to do it normally?"

He licks his lips drastically, so sexy but so stupid!

" Kiss my feet!" He says and made a smirk.

What? I feel like I've just heard it wrong.

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me right. I don't like repeating myself. I want you to kiss my feet to apologize for hitting into me, you wench!" His voice went higher than normal.

My heartbeat accelerates.

Some days later, they sent me to the operating room.

Dad said, "Yvonne will finally be saved. We're so proud of you."

Mom said, "After the surgery, we'll make it up to you."

Gilbert looked tenderly at Yvonne and said, "When you're better, where should we travel?"

What they didn't know was that the day I agreed, I'd just received my diagnosis, stage four cancer. Three months to live.

As I lay on the cold operating table, as the anesthesia began to take effect, I only wanted to know one thing:

If I die on this operating table, will they regret it?

My parents raised me for twenty-four years. Then they found out I wasn't their biological daughter.

Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.

When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.

My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"

"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."

They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.

I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.

But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.

Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.

He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.

Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.

When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.

"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."

A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.

When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.

When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.

My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.

Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."

But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.

Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
