Introduction
Chapter 1
In the bathtub, Lauren Walker's graceful figure was barely visible through the steam.
Her delicate skin was marred with red and purple bruises.
Lauren lay with her eyes closed, as if she were asleep.
She had spent two years alone in an empty house.
From initial anticipation to the current disappointment, she had tasted every bit of grievance and unwillingness.
She thought she would never love that man again, but reality had given her a painful blow.
"Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Jessica Robinson called and asked you to come back for dinner." The butler, Peter Robinson, knocked on the bathroom door, pulling Lauren back to reality.
"Okay, I'll be right there," Lauren replied.
She got up, dried herself off, and then went to the vanity to cover the marks on her body with concealer. After getting ready, she headed to the Robinson Estate.
Jessica Robinson's health wasn't great.
Five years ago, Jessica had a heart attack at the airport. Although many people were around, Lauren was the only one who helped.
Lauren took Jessica to the hospital and only left after she was stable.
Since then, Jessica had treated Lauren like her own granddaughter.
Even Lauren's marriage to Quentin Robinson was orchestrated by Jessica.
Recently, Jessica had a follow-up at the hospital, and the results weren't good.
Lauren wanted to stay at the Robinson Estate to take care of Jessica, but Jessica persuaded her to go home, saying she wanted to see Lauren and Quentin's child born.
With no other option, Lauren carried out her plan last night. She drugged Quentin and forced herself on him.
As the car pulled into the Robinson Estate, Jessica stood at the door, smiling, supported by the butler.
"Grandma, why are you standing at the door? Be careful not to catch a cold in the night breeze." Lauren helped Jessica into the house.
Over the years, Jessica had taken care of her meticulously, and Lauren had long regarded Jessica as her own grandmother.
"I was just standing for a bit. I'm fine. I just wanted to see you sooner," Jessica said, holding Lauren's hand tightly.
Of all the younger people she had met over the years, Lauren was the one Jessica genuinely liked. She was kind-hearted and helped others without expecting anything in return.
When Jessica first learned that Lauren liked Quentin, she was overjoyed, thinking it was a good match.
But she hadn't expected her ungrateful grandson Quentin to be oblivious to Lauren's virtues.
"If you don't mind, I'll come to have dinner with you every day from now on." Lauren said.
Lauren pulled out a chair for Jessica, but then noticed three sets of tableware on the dining table.
"Grandma, did you invite someone else?" Lauren asked, puzzled.
Jessica looked at her meaningfully, a smile playing on her lips.
Lauren's heart pounded. An absurd thought crossed her mind. No way. It couldn't be that coincidental, could it?
"Grandma, I just remembered I have something urgent to do. I'll be going now," Lauren said, almost fleeing.
But she hadn't expected to run into Quentin just as she stepped into the yard.
Quentin was dressed in a sharp black suit, with gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, looking like he had just come from a company meeting.
He tugged at his tie, his Adam's apple bobbing, inexplicably enticing.
Lauren couldn't help but recall the steamy scenes from last night.
In the hotel suite, Quentin had pinned her against the door, kissing her neck fiercely, his hands roaming over her body, unzipping her dress.
Lauren felt a chill on her chest, and before she could gasp, Quentin's warm lips were on her.
The wet, hot sensation made her moan involuntarily.
"Does it feel that good? There's more to come," Quentin's husky voice sounded against her chest.
"Really?" Lauren's voice was seductive, igniting Quentin's desire even more.
He picked her up and threw her onto the bed, tearing off her dress and underwear, then lowered his head between her legs.
Lauren had never felt anything like it, a tingling sensation that made her crave more.
Quentin teased her a few more times, then looked up at her, his eyes filled with lust.
Lauren's delicate skin was flushed pink, and he couldn't help but thrust into her forcefully, working her over with fervor.
He took her to the peak again and again, making her savor the pleasure she had never experienced.
After multiple climaxes, Lauren's voice was hoarse as she tried to refuse him.
But her exhausted body had no strength left, and to Quentin, her half-lidded eyes looked like she was inviting him for more.
In the end, Lauren didn't know how she fell asleep, or rather, how she passed out.
Thinking about last night, Lauren's face grew redder.
"Lauren?" Quentin walked up to her. "Or should I say, Mrs. Robinson?"
He spoke with a smirk, his eyes glinting with mockery.
The woman who had drugged him last night was his legal wife.
"Mr. Robinson." Lauren said awkwardly, forcing a smile. "I have something to do, so I'll be going now. Goodbye, Mr. Robinson."
She tried to slip away, but Quentin grabbed her wrist.
'It's over,' Lauren thought, closing her eyes in despair.
"What are you thinking about? Why is your face so red? Still savoring last night?" Quentin looked at her, her flushed face reminding him of last night.
"Stop talking nonsense!" Lauren glanced around nervously, afraid someone might hear them.
Quentin sneered, finding her different from what he had imagined.
An hour later, the night scenery outside the car window kept changing, and the car was unusually quiet, with only the sound of their breathing.
Lauren looked at Quentin sitting beside her through the window.
She was still in a daze. How did they end up going home together? How did she get into his car?
"What? Didn't expect me to go see Grandma?" Quentin had noticed Lauren's gaze from the start.
Lauren was startled, caught off guard, feeling a bit embarrassed. She forced a smile and sat up straight.
Of course not!
After all, she had just done that to seduce him last night, thinking he rarely came home.
In the past two years, she hadn't seen him once.
"Are you scared? Mrs. Robinson, isn't it a bit late to be scared now?" Quentin saw her head was almost buried in her chest and couldn't help but speak.
He really hadn't expected Lauren, who seemed so quiet and gentle, to give him such a "surprise."
Thinking about Lauren's enthusiasm last night and her carefree departure this morning, his mood darkened.
"How could I be? I'm just happy," Lauren took a deep breath, turned to Quentin, and gave him a sweet smile.
