Introduction

“Say you want me.” I whispered to her.

“I don't.” Her voice was barely audible.

“You don't, huh? Then tell me, Chica, why are you so fucking wet for me?”

Camilla Torres didn't want to go out clubbing for her 21st birthday.

She didn't want her friends to dress her in slutty attire.

She didn't want to be kidnapped into the mafia world.

And most of all, she didn't want to catch the attention of Àlvaro Castillo, the head of the Italian mafia.

But life can't give you everything that you want. Sometimes, it gives you just the opposite.

Chapter 1

“Remind me to show you guys how much I fucking hate you when we leave this place.” I muttered as we walked through the doors of the ENIGMA, one of the most prestigious nightclubs around town.

This is my first time being inside the club. Infact, it's my first time inside a club!

“Oh my pretty little friend, we know you don't mean that. Now, come on. Let's party!” My friend Chloe squealed in my ear.

It was my 21st birthday and I was wearing a very tight black dress that I was pretty sure wouldn't fit a ten year old child.

I knew my face was all shiny from the makeup that Angela had insisted on putting on for me and my lips, painted a bright red.

My long dark hair cascaded down my back and the high heeled stilettos Chloe forced me into wearing actually made me look regal.

It surprised even me how beautiful I looked.

Fuck. Them. Still.

“Happy birthday Cami!” My friends, Chloe, Angela and Lola, all screamed in unison over the rave music as we walked in.

I rolled my eyes and smiled at them as we made it to the dance floor.

They sometimes get on my fucking nerves but I loved them to death still. They're like the sisters I never had.

I sighed.

I'm already here so it's best to make a good time out of my night. It's my birthday after all.

Lots of people were crowded on the dance floor. The stench of alcohol and smoke filled my lungs and I slowly started swaying to the rave music.

I was so caught up in the music that I didn't realize that I had drifted a bit from where my friends were. A white light flashed through my vision and I saw Lola practically grinding into this guy while he was kissing the side of her neck all in the name of dancing.

Cringe.

Suddenly, I felt a pair of hands grip my waist and I turned around to see some drunk guy who literally smelled like a brewery.

“Hey pretty.” He said, just as his hands gripped my hips.

This what they do at nightclubs?!!! I almost screamed.

My eyes widened and I made an attempt to pull out of his grasp. A weak one because he ignored my attempt as his eyes roamed nauseatingly over my body. He pulled me back close to him.

I felt his hard on through the thin fabric of my dress and my heart immediately started pounding in fear. Using more force, I yanked myself out of his grasp.

I quickly turned away from him, ignoring his calls and walked over to Lola, pushing through the sweaty bodies because she's the only one I can lay my eyes on right now.

Heaven knows where Chloe and Angela wandered off to.

“Hey Lola.” I called immediately I was within hearing distance. “I think I should start going back to the dorm, I'm really not having a good tim—”

I was taken aback when she placed her index finger over my lips, completely cutting me off as she shook her head.

She held me by the arm as she practically dragged me over to the bar.

“Hey Nick!” She leaned over the bar, standing on her tiptoes as she screamed over the music. The bartender I assumed to be Nick, came over to us.

Lola must be a frequent customer here to know the bartender by name.

He seemed friendly, with an approachable face. His hair was slightly tousled and he had a hint of a smirk on his lips.

Hmm…not bad.

“Hey Lola. Who's your friend?” He asked, his voice raised over the music.

Lola quickly pulled me close to her and I forced a smile at Nick.

“This is Camilla. It's her birthday today and I need you to give her something that'll give her the confidence she needs to actually relax and enjoy a good time!” She screamed over the counter at Nick with a mischievous grin.

I frowned.

“No— No! I don't—” I started rambling but stopped myself when I noticed the smile on Nick's face widen.

What's so funny?

“What's that accent? Are you Spanish?” He asked.

“Yeah. I moved here a few years back.” I shouted over the deafening music.

“Who gives a fuck? Just give the birthday girl some good stuff!” Lola screamed. She was definitely tipsy. It was my birthday but they seem to be having more fun than I am.

Nick turned his attention back to me, smiling. “Of course, anything for Lola's stunning Spanish friend who also happens to be the birthday girl.” And then he walked off towards the corner.

“Isn't he just the cutest?” Lola squealed, turning to face me once more.

“Yeah, he's adorable.” I said.

There was no point denying it. Nick was as handsome as they come. I turned my head just in time to see Nick set down a bluish drink in front of me.

“What's this?” I asked him, my brows drooping down in a frown.

“Bottoms up!” Was all he said to me, grinning. “If you feel like fucking later, look for me at midnight.” He winked at me and nodded to Lola before sauntering off.

Just like that, every little attraction brewing inside me died because of his choice of words.

“Uuhhh. Someone is getting laid tonight! Drink up bitch!” Lola screamed as she downed a shot of her own.

I shook my head at her mockingly before downing the bluish liquid down my throat.

I coughed as it stung my throat and tears sprang to my eyes. I began to feel light almost instantly.

“What the hell is that?!” I squeaked.

“That, my Spanish beauty, is the key to happiness. Now let's go dance!”

I sighed as I followed her to the dance floor.

I don't even remember how I got to the point where I found myself making out with some guy on the dance floor. My lips were moving in sync with his but I didn't feel his lips. It was almost like I was moving on auto pilot.

It was time for me to take back control, the numbness was starting to pass. I quickly pulled away from the guy, sweat glistened his face as he began to kiss his way down my neck and his hands rode up my dress.

I frowned. This was not going well at all.

I pushed away from him, forcefully this time. His dark eyes frowned at me as I turned away from him. He began to come after me but I turned on my heels and ran.

I didn't like the look on this stranger's eyes and I was scared at what he planned to do with me if he gets a second hold of me so I ran, without any idea of where I was actually running to.

I passed by the bar, ignoring Nick's calls into a narrow hallway I assumed to be where the restrooms are located.

At a point, I knew the stranger was no longer after me but I just kept going.

Without thinking much, I opened the first door I came across. I immediately gasped and stopped dead in my tracks at the scene that just unfolded in front of me.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
