Introduction
A thunderous roar ripped through the room.
"Ruan Qinghe!"
I shoved the trembling young man off my body, lowered my eyes, and let out a low, mocking laugh.
"Well, well. My husband rolls up with his side piece to catch his lawfully wedded wife cheating? This has got to be the most unhinged thing I've ever seen in my life."
The secretary, Bai Weiwei, paled instantly, scrambling to defend herself. "Sister Qinghe, you've got this all wrong! Today is your seventh wedding anniversary with Mr. Gu, he only asked me to come help!"
"Whatever was between us ended ages ago! We're just friends now! Don't you dare project your own filthy behavior onto everyone else just because you're acting out!"
I gave her a cool, cursory glance, smiled and said nothing, before finally fixing my gaze on Gu Jingran.
He snapped like a rabid wild beast, slamming and smashing every last thing he'd painstakingly prepared to pieces.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" His voice was raw and hoarse, trembling with rage. "You're trying to get back at me?"
"I was just curious."
I lifted an eyebrow slightly.
"Curious about what cheating feels like. What kind of thrill, what kind of rush, could make you addicted to it over and over again."
Chapter 1
Introduction:
Our seventh wedding anniversary.
I was fooling around with another man in the master bedroom, and got caught red-handed by my husband Cedric Hale and his secretary.
An angry roar.
"Josephine Brown!"
I pushed away the trembling man on top of me, lowered my eyes and chuckled.
"Well, well, my husband bringing his mistress to catch his wife cheating - now that's something you don't see every day!"
Secretary Vivian White's face changed instantly, and she quickly explained: "Josephine, don't get the wrong idea. Today is your seventh anniversary with Mr. Hale. Mr. Hale just asked me to come help!"
"We ended things ages ago, we're just friends now! Don't assume everyone's as dirty as you just because you're playing dirty!"
I glanced at her coolly, smiled without saying a word, and finally rested my gaze on Cedric.
He was like a crazed beast, violently smashing everything he had carefully prepared.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" His voice was hoarse. "You want revenge on me?"
"I was just curious."
I raised my eyebrows slightly.
"Curious what cheating feels like. Whether it's thrilling or just fun - enough to make you addicted to it again and again."

Cedric's eyes were bloodshot, staring at me intently.
"So, you've hated me all along?"
I smiled nonchalantly.
"You're the one who said emotional cheating is different from physical cheating. I only cheated physically."
I stood up and got dressed slowly and deliberately.
The bed was a mess, still bearing the damp traces of our encounter.
Cedric's chest heaved violently, his palms bleeding where his nails dug in.
The young man cowered in the corner, not daring to make a sound.
"Get out!" Cedric kicked him down with one swift motion.
The young man scrambled out of the room.
Vivian stepped forward, gently smoothing Cedric's furrowed brow, coaxing softly:
"Cedric, don't be angry. Josephine probably cheated because she was lonely for a moment. Don't blame her."
As she spoke, a hint of amusement flickered in her eyes.
"Some women, well, they have higher needs in that area. You should spend more time with Josephine so she doesn't keep looking for random men to sleep with."
After hearing this, Cedric grabbed the back of my neck, forcing me to look at him.
"Josephine, are you really this cheap?! Letting strange men sleep with you just to satisfy yourself?"
His voice was extremely low, disgust written all over his face. "You're so dirty!"
"Takes one to know one." I looked at him calmly.
"Since we've both cheated and can't stand each other, why don't we just get divorced?"
Before Cedric could speak.
Vivian behind him defended him indignantly.
"Josephine, how can you say that about Cedric? It was because you were too boring and didn't know how to please him that he got drunk and impulsively slept with me..."
"He regretted it so much afterward. Instead of comforting him, you made it known to everyone. Now you're bringing up old issues to force him into divorce just because you have a high sex drive."
"Sometimes, I really feel bad for Cedric!"
She looked at Cedric with sympathy.
"Besides, Cedric and I are just friends now."
I chuckled softly.
"Friends who get naked and sleep in the same bed?"
Vivian's eyes instantly turned red, and she shook her head desperately.
"Josephine, I've always treated you like a sister. I never thought you'd think of me this way. You can yell at me, hit me, but you can't accuse me of being a mistress!"
Seeing her look so wronged, Cedric flew into a rage.
"Josephine! Apologize!"
"The wife apologizing to the mistress?"
Cedric's face darkened completely, and he slapped me hard across the face.
"Vivian is not a mistress! Apologize now!"
I collapsed to the floor from the blow, blood trickling from the corner of my mouth.
But he didn't stop. Slap after slap landed on my face.
"You're cheap and your mouth is cheap too!"
Cedric sneered as he cursed.
Until my stomach cramped and I vomited blood continuously.
Only then did he stop, looking down at me from above.
"You like finding men, huh? Then I'll make you lonely and desperate for the rest of your life! I'll make you a living widow! I'll put you through the most painful marriage! I want to watch you suffer to death!"
With that, he turned and left.
Vivian dropped her gentle act, leaned close to my ear, and said coldly: "Josephine, if Cedric wants you dead, you should hurry up and die! Stop getting in our way every day!"
She looked at me with disgust, then quickly chased after Cedric.
After the loud slam of the door, silence returned.
I crouched down, curled up and hugged myself, tears falling silently.
I really was dying soon.
When I'm dead, they'll probably both be very happy.
But I won't let them off easily!
They owe me, and they must pay back every bit of it!
