Chapter 1
The Betrayal
Giselle POV
My breaths came in heavy succession as I hurried down the long hallway towards Jared’s hotel room. I was exhausted as I carried my long dress up a flight of stairs. The elevator was under repairs and won't be fixed till another half an hour and I couldn't possibly wait till then. I stopped to catch my breath slowly becoming irritated with the absurd situation in front of me.
I mean who disappears just right before their engagement party begins, especially with all the high profile guests that are going to attend the event. It wasn't everyday that the daughter of the Silver Moon Pack and the son of the Blue Moon Pack decided to get married.
I heaved a sigh of relief as his room came into my line of sight when a female voice stopped me in my tracks.
“Oh my. You are amazing, darling. Yes,” a woman moaned.
I stood transfixed to the spot. Was I in the wrong room, I thought as I lifted up my dress to bring out my phone and looked through the messages of the room assignment previously sent to me. Yes, I was at the right place. This was definitely Jared's room.
I began to panic within me as I gave the door a little push, surprised to find it was open. I swung it open wider as I witnessed the shocking scene in front of me. There in the middle of the room, my fiance was sleeping with another woman. Her hair flowed in reckless abandon as my fiance was on top of her ravishing her all over.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Jared was having an affair just a day before our wedding on our engagement day. I stood there dumbstruck as the feelings of betrayal raced through my veins. How could he do this to me?, and even worse in the hotel our wedding was being held at where anyone could see him.
Jared looked up then finally noticing my presence. With a smirk on his face, he looked me straight in the eyes as he slowly went down on her again kissing her passionately, taunting me.
I clenched my fists and straightened my back, tamping down every emotion I was feeling and locking it away in the deep storage of my heart. The last thing I wanted was to make him see how affected I was at his betrayal. I was the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack and I have been through worse things than betrayal.
My marriage with Jared was far from one of love. It was a marriage of alliance to unite our two packs, one that my father the Alpha had made great efforts to make a reality. Jared and I had grown up together and I'd known from a young age that I was going to be his wife and Luna.
Just like every other member of the elite family, I was given an early education of the pack training with little or no time for fun at all. I had never been given a choice to do whatever I wanted and was always told to do what was expected of me as the daughter of the alpha. I was a perfect Luna and I managed to outscore every male in my class both in combat training and in academics and I deserved every bit of respect I had earned.
I wasn't able to choose my future husband but I had hoped I was going to have the perfect wedding of my dreams and now Jared was going to take that away from me. My father had invested so much in this alliance and he would be furious to see it go to ruins. I couldn't make a scene either, too many guests were present for things to get out of hand.
I lifted my dress with my head held high, I slowly walked out of the room. I made sure no one was present in the hallway while I waited for Jared. The door opened a few minutes later as he stepped out shirtless, his hair a tousled mess. I tried not to look at the bruises and bite marks on his necks.
“What do you think you're doing only a day before our wedding,” I said coldly, raising a thin eyebrow at him. “I don't even think an explanation can even cut it in this situation right now,” I said, pointing to the bite marks on his neck.
He stared at me impatiently, his eyes dark and emotionless. “This is all your fault. If you weren't so cold towards me do you really think I would need to seek comfort outside. We are childhood friends and tomorrow we will be getting married yet you have never shown any hint of fondness or love for me, even after seeing all this,” he ran his hands over the bite marks on his neck, “you're still a cold emotionless ice queen. You truly disgust me”
I scoffed in disbelief at his audacity. “I disgust you, really. You're sleeping with a woman just a day before our wedding and that's the only thing you could say to me. How do you expect me to love you when you are always sleeping around with different women in the pack”. I run my hand over my loosely done hair in frustration. “How can you do this to me right before our wedding,” I spat at him.
“Wedding,” he sneered. “There isn't going to be a wedding, I'm not getting married to you, Giselle. Tara is the one I love and I'm going to marry her”
I couldn't take it anymore as I exploded in anger. I punched him across the face, taking him by surprise. How dare he?. He must have forgotten for a second that I was one of the best fighters in the pack when it came to combat training and he was no match for me. I clenched my fists, smirking as I saw my punch had caused him to start bleeding from the mouth.
“You worthless bastard. How dare you cause me so much disgrace and dishonor. This wedding is not about the two of us, it's about the alliance of our two packs so how dare you want to break it off so easily like that”
He looked at me in surprise, never expecting that I could hit him. I couldn't stand the sight of him any longer and I needed to get away and be as far away as possible from him. I pulled up my dress and turned away.
There was a lot of attention to the wedding because of the power it would bring to the two packs so a lot of high ranking wolves had been invited. I was already dreading what my father would say when he found out that the wedding would now be talked about for an entirely different reason. Knowing him he was definitely going to blame me, whether it was my fault or not.
I held back the tears that were threatening to spill out. Taking a deep breath, I reigned in my composure as I plastered a smile on my face and walked elegantly towards my room. There was no need for anyone to see me cry because of what that scumbag did.
I opened the bottle of champagne that was a celebratory gift I had bought for Jared to celebrate our marriage as soon as I stepped into my room. Well there was no need for that now, I thought as I opened the drink and chugged the entire content into my mouth.
It burned my throat as it flowed into my stomach. Within minutes, the room began to spin and I was slowly getting drunk. I heard my phone ringing inside the purse where I had placed it at the foot of the bed. It was my friend Sonia.
“Yes,” I slurred, answering the phone.
“Where are you?. Everyone has been looking for both you and Jared,” she asked frantically.
“I'm drunk in my room. Jared called off the wedding when I found him cheating on me,” I said, barely fighting back the tears.
“He cheated on you. Why did he do that?,” she asked puzzled.
I sniffed. “He said I was a cold and emotionless bitch and I disgusted him”
“How could he say that to you just a day before your wedding?. I have never liked him anyway. Good riddance”
“You don't understand Sonia. What am I going to do now?. Everybody is here waiting for an engagement party that isn't going to happen and a big wedding tomorrow and even worse what would my father say,” I shuddered in fear.
“There is nothing you can do about it. It's not your fault your fiance was a scumbag. You know what, I'm going to send you a location in a few minutes, go there and have some fun to take your mind off all this stress and tomorrow morning you can think about your problems then. What do you say?,” Sonia said teasingly.
Sonia was always like that. Compared to many families of the elite, Sonia was a rule breaker and didn't care what anyone thought of her. I guess that was why I kept her close.
On normal occasions I would have ignored Sonia's words but today was not one of those days. I needed to take my mind off my problems if even for only a night and if a call boy was going to help me so be it.
“Fine then. You can handle it for me. I need the hottest guy you can find that can satisfy me, okay. If possible someone completely opposite of Jared”
Sonia chuckled as she okayed to my request. I walked over to the mirror at the side of the room. My hair was still packed in a messy bun with tendrils of hair sticking out from all sides. My eyeliner was smudged across my face and I looked terrible. I unfastened the zip of my gown and kicked it away in anger. I stood naked staring at my reflection in the mirror.
Was I not pretty enough?. I vaguely remembered the way the woman Jared had been sleeping with had pale skin without any bruises while I had a very toned body as a result of the intense training I'd undergone in the pack.
I had made sure from a young age I was deserving of their respect as their future Luna. So why then didn't Jared find me desirable. His words had hurt me deeper than I cared to admit. It made me feel unwanted.
My phone beeped as a text message appeared on it. It was from Sonia and it read:
I have found you the sexiest call boy the hotel has to offer. He's very handsome and he will definitely satisfy you. Meet him at room 109, he will be waiting.”
I quickly picked up my dress and ran to take a quick shower. I was going to have fun tonight and forget my problems even if for a few hours. I can worry about the consequences later. Still slightly drunk, I donned on the sexiest dress I could find and stumbled to the hotel room, making sure I wasn't seen by anyone I know.
I pushed open the door to room 109 and walked inside. It was empty. I scanned the room for a few minutes taking in the expensive decor. Sonia must have ordered the most expensive room in the hotel, I thought as I looked around in wonderment.
Moments later, a man walked out of the bathroom half naked with just a piece of towel tied around his waist. I smiled and stared at him appreciatively. His dark hair was wet from the shower he just had, making him look sexier than he already was.
I tiptoed towards him slowly and caressed his chest. Brimmed with desire I pushed him closer to the bed and whispered in his ears
“Let's have fun tonight”
