Introduction
I knew Thomas loved me. I could feel it in the way he looked at me, the way he held me like I was his whole world. And I loved him just as much. We were ready- I was ready. So why drag it out?
Heart pounding, I took one last sip of the drink I had been nursing for an hour, hoping it would give me a little more courage.
I walked up to him and, without giving myself time to overthink, I blurted it out. "I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
Silence. An impossibly long, heavy silence.
And then, the reply, "Well, that's… unexpected."
That voice- it wasn't Thomas' voice. It was deeper, smoother, a voice that sent a chill down my spine.
Standing there, eyebrows raised, was the CEO. The CEO. Looking every bit as shocked as I felt.
Oh. My. God.
I had just proposed… to my boss.
"Oh my God, I am so sorry," I stammered, my face probably turning ten shades of red. "I thought you were- this is so embarrassing, I-"
But he didn't look horrified. He was… smiling? And then, as if the universe hadn't humiliated me enough, he said, "Yes."
Her plan was flawless: surprise her secret boyfriend with a heartfelt proposal on Valentine's Day. Simple, romantic, perfect- until one drunken mistake turned everything upside down.
Now, she's somehow stuck in a fake engagement with her boss. As if that wasn't messy enough, she discovers her boyfriend has been sneaking around with someone else.
Her one reason to escape this charade is gone. But the longer she plays the role of his fiancee, the harder it gets to remember it's all pretend...
Chapter 1
Isabella POV
I'm going to propose.
I knew it wasn't exactly traditional. A girl proposing? Yeah, that's not exactly what people imagine when they think of romance. Most would probably raise an eyebrow- or worse, flat-out judge me for it. But honestly, I didn't care. I couldn't wait any longer.
I knew he loved me. I could feel it in the way he looked at me, the way he held me like I was his whole world. And I loved him just as much. We were ready- I was ready. So why drag it out? Why keep waiting for some arbitrary "perfect moment" when I could make the moment perfect myself?
And what better day to do it than Valentine's Day? It was the ultimate symbol of love and romance. The timing felt just right for something as big as this. A little life-changing surprise to seal the deal.
For a while, we had kept our relationship a secret. Not because we wanted to, but because dating a coworker at our company was a big no-no. Yet here I was, planning to pop the question after work, picturing his shocked smile and the way he would laugh and say "yes" a million times. My nerves were buzzing, but this was it.
Or… it was supposed to be it.
Because fate- or maybe our clueless manager- had other plans.
Somehow, our boss decided that tonight, of all nights, we needed to "celebrate the season of love" as a team. Which meant we were all crammed into this overcrowded bar, with "Team Spirit" banners hanging from every possible surface. Instead of candlelight and roses, there was a loud jukebox playing pop songs mixed with outdated ballads.
And just when I thought the night couldn't get any worse, our CEO showed up. Yes, Mr. Tall and Intimidating, who never even bothered with office holiday parties, decided to grace us with his presence. On Valentine's Day. Exactly what I needed tonight- an extra pair of eyes, specifically his, watching everything like a hawk. Perfect.
My nerves were frayed. Between trying not to look too obvious whenever Thomas glanced at me and keeping up with forced small talk for the CEO's sake, this was not how I had pictured my night. I kept sneaking glances at my boyfriend, wondering if we would ever get a moment alone. And all I kept thinking was, didn't our CEO have somewhere else to be? Like a private yacht or a rooftop cocktail party?
Finally- finally- the CEO got up to leave. He nodded curtly to a few people and walked out, and you could feel the collective sigh of relief pass through the room. I leaned back, thinking that maybe, just maybe, there was still a chance to save my evening.
Then, Thomas stood up, gesturing that he needed to take a call outside. This was it. My chance.
Heart pounding, I took one last sip of the drink I had been nursing for an hour, hoping it would give me a little more courage. I took a deep breath and slipped outside.
The cool night air hit me, waking me up like a splash of water. I spotted him a few steps away, near a tree, phone pressed to his ear, looking distracted. Suddenly, all the nerves I had been trying to keep under control came rushing back, but I pushed them aside.
This was what I wanted, right? No turning back now.
I walked up to him and, without giving myself time to overthink, I blurted it out. "I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
Silence. An impossibly long, heavy silence.
And then, the reply: "Well, that's… unexpected."
That voice- it wasn't his voice. It was deeper, smoother, a voice that sent a chill down my spine. My heart sank, and I lifted my gaze, praying this was some bizarre joke.
It wasn't. Standing there, eyebrows raised, was the CEO. The CEO. Looking every bit as shocked as I felt.
Oh. My. God.
My stomach plummeted. I had just proposed… to my boss. My intimidating, powerful, cold-as-ice boss. This could not be happening.
"Oh my God, I am so sorry," I stammered, my face probably turning ten shades of red. "I thought you were- this is so embarrassing, I-"
But he didn't look horrified. He was… smiling? It was a slow, amused smile that wasn't helping my humiliation at all.
And then, as if the universe hadn't humiliated me enough, he said, "Yes."
I blinked. "Yes?"
"Yes," he repeated, with a glint of amusement in his eyes. "I accept."
Wait… what? Is he messing with me? I searched his face, but there wasn't a hint of a joke. He was serious. I had accidentally proposed to my CEO, and he accepted.
This wasn't happening. It just couldn't be.

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

Badass in Disguise
"Jade, I need to check your—" the nurse began.
"OUT!" I snarled with enough force that both women backed toward the door.
Once feared by Shadow Organization that drugged me to replicate my abilities into a more controllable version, I had escaped my restraints and detonated their entire facility, ready to die alongside my captors.
Instead, I woke up in a school infirmary with women arguing around me, their voices piercing my skull. My outburst froze them in shock—clearly they hadn't expected such a reaction. One woman threatened as she left, "We'll discuss this attitude when you get home."
The bitter truth? I've been reborn into the body of an overweight, weak, and supposedly dim-witted high school girl. Her life is filled with bullies and tormentors who've made her existence miserable.
But they have no idea who they're dealing with now.
I didn't survive as the world's deadliest assassin by allowing anyone to push me around. And I certainly won't start now.
Mated by Contract to the Alpha
William—my devastatingly handsome, wealthy werewolf fiancé destined to become Delta—was supposed to be mine forever. After five years together, I was ready to walk down the aisle and claim my happily ever after.
Instead, I found him with her. And their son.
Betrayed, jobless, and drowning in my father's medical bills, I hit rock bottom harder than I ever imagined possible. Just when I thought I'd lost everything, salvation came in the form of the most dangerous man I'd ever encountered.
Damien Sterling—future Alpha of the Silver Moon Shadow Pack and ruthless CEO of Sterling Group—slid a contract across his desk with predatory grace.
“Sign this, little doe, and I'll give you everything your heart desires. Wealth. Power. Revenge. But understand this—the moment you put pen to paper, you become mine. Body, soul, and everything in between.”
I should have run. Instead, I signed my name and sealed my fate.
Now I belong to the Alpha. And he's about to show me just how wild love can be.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.

Fangs, Fate & Other Bad Decisions

Now, she’s stuck with an overprotective, brooding bloodsucker who keeps rescuing her, a growing list of enemies who want her dead, and an undeniable attraction that’s making it very hard to remember why falling for a vampire is a terrible idea.
