Alpha’s Desire and the Loyal Beast
Manish Bansal · Ongoing · 118.1k Words
Introduction
“I don’t belong anywhere,” he tells her once.
“Then why do you keep standing at my side?” she demands.
“Because you never told me to leave.”
In a world governed by Alpha law, fate, and blood-bound hierarchy, Rowan’s presence is a violation. He is an Omega who refuses to break, a beast who kneels rather than bites, and a living contradiction to everything Aria has been taught to believe. An accidental bond ties them together—unwanted, dangerous, and impossible to sever without destroying him. The closer she pushes him away, the more violently her wolf resists. The closer he stays, the more the pack turns cruel.
Their connection is not built on romance alone, but on survival, instinct, and a terrifying truth: Rowan is changing. His healing defies logic. His beast does not behave like any wolf known to the packs. Ancient power coils beneath his skin, answering only to Aria’s presence. She is his anchor. He may be her undoing.
Watching from the shadows is Kael, a calculating enemy who understands power better than mercy. He sees what Aria refuses to name—Rowan is both her weakness and her cure. To break the Alpha, he will break the boy.
As rogues gather, loyalties fracture, and Rowan’s transformation spirals beyond control, one question looms over the forest: when the beast finally chooses between devotion and destruction, will Aria claim him… or will she lose everything by denying what fate has already decided?
Chapter 1
The night cracked open with a scream of steel.
Aria Nightborn tore through the last rogue with a clean, ruthless slash, claws flashing silver under the blood-moon glow. The body hit the dirt hard, unmoving. Around her, the battlefield trembled with dying howls, scorched earth, and the sharp metallic scent of blood. Her warriors were still standing, barely. The attack had been sudden—too sudden—and brutal in a way that spoke of planning, not desperation.
She straightened, breath controlled, spine rigid with Alpha pride.
Then the curse struck.
Pain lanced through her chest without warning, sharp as ice driven straight into her lungs. Aria’s vision blurred. The world tilted violently to one side. She clenched her teeth, refusing to fall, but her knees betrayed her, buckling as silver heat burned along her veins.
Not now.
A shadow moved at the edge of her sight.
“Alpha!”
The shout was thin, desperate—and close.
Before Aria could lift her head, a body slammed into her, knocking her sideways just as a rogue lunged from behind, blade arcing toward her spine. The impact stole her breath. They hit the ground together, dust and blood spraying up in a choking cloud.
Aria twisted, instinct roaring, ready to rip the attacker apart.
But the blade never reached her.
A sharp gasp cut through the chaos.
She froze.
The rogue’s weapon had pierced flesh—but not hers.
Aria looked down.
A boy lay over her, arms locked around her shoulders in a clumsy, untrained shield. His back arched as pain ripped through him. Blood spread fast across his tunic, dark and steaming.
“No,” she snapped, grabbing his shoulders. “Move. Get off me.”
He didn’t.
Instead, he clung tighter, shaking violently.
“My Alpha,” he breathed, voice breaking, “please… don’t move.”
Her heart stuttered.
He was small for a wolf. Slim, narrow-shouldered. An omega—she recognized him now, dimly. Rowan. The one they called the Puppy. Quiet. Harmless. Always watching from the edges, eyes too big for his face, head bowed low.
Weak.
“You’ll die,” Aria growled. “That’s an order.”
“I know,” he said—and somehow managed a smile, even as blood soaked through him. “That’s okay.”
The rogue snarled, yanking his blade free, raising it again.
Something snapped.
Not in Aria.
In the boy.
Rowan’s scream tore through the battlefield—not a cry of pain, but of awakening. The sound vibrated in Aria’s bones, deep and wrong and ancient. The air around them exploded outward in a shockwave that sent the rogue flying backward like a rag doll.
Aria sucked in a sharp breath.
Rowan convulsed above her.
His spine bowed unnaturally. Bones cracked—loud, wet, unmistakable. Golden light burst from beneath his skin, searing through fabric and flesh alike. His blood didn’t spill anymore; it evaporated into sparks, curling upward like smoke.
“What in the Moon—” someone shouted nearby.
Rowan’s eyes flew open.
They were no longer brown.
They burned molten gold.
The ground trembled as he rose, lifting himself—and her—with terrifying ease. Aria found herself staring up at him, heart pounding, curse forgotten in the face of something far more impossible.
Power rolled off him in suffocating waves. Not Alpha dominance. Not rogue madness.
Something older.
The remaining rogues faltered, backing away in fear.
Rowan turned slowly, placing himself between Aria and the threat. His frame expanded, muscles thickening, silhouette stretching taller, broader. Not a full shift—but close enough to make seasoned warriors recoil.
“No one,” he growled, voice layered with something inhuman, “touches her.”
The rogues fled.
Silence crashed down on the battlefield.
Rowan staggered, the light flickering, and then the power vanished as suddenly as it had come. He collapsed backward, landing hard against Aria’s chest.
She caught him on instinct.
He was burning hot.
“Rowan,” she said sharply. “Rowan, look at me.”
His lashes fluttered. His eyes were normal again—wide, frightened, painfully gentle.
“Did I… do something wrong?” he whispered.
Around them, her warriors stared in stunned horror.
Aria didn’t answer.
She couldn’t.
Because the curse in her veins had gone utterly still for the first time in years—and she knew, with bone-deep certainty, that whatever had awakened inside the boy had answered her blood.
Slow clapping echoed from the treeline.
Aria’s head snapped up.
A tall figure stepped into the moonlight, black coat immaculate despite the carnage, dark hair tied back neatly. His presence alone bent the air, heavy with dominance and calculation.
Alpha Kael Draven.
“Well,” he said pleasantly, eyes fixed on Rowan. “That was unexpected.”
Aria surged to her feet, dragging Rowan up with her, placing herself squarely between the boy and the newcomer. “This is Nightborn territory. Leave.”
Kael’s smile widened.
“Relax,” he said. “I’m only observing.”
His gaze slid past her, settling once more on Rowan with unnerving intensity. He inhaled slowly, like a man savoring a rare scent.
“Ancient,” Kael murmured. “Pure. Loyal to the point of madness.”
Rowan shrank slightly behind Aria, fingers curling into the back of her armor without realizing it.
Kael’s eyes gleamed.
“You know,” he continued, voice smooth as silk, “beasts like that were wiped out centuries ago. Erased for being… inconvenient.”
Aria felt a chill crawl up her spine. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, but I do.” Kael tilted his head. “And now that I’ve seen him…”
His smile sharpened into something dangerous.
“That boy,” Kael said softly, “belongs to me.”
The words hit like a blade.
Rowan flinched.
Aria’s claws slid free with a metallic hiss. “Say that again.”
Kael laughed, already stepping back into the shadows. “Enjoy him while you can, Aria Nightborn. Cursed Alphas don’t get to keep loyal things for long.”
He vanished into the trees, his presence lingering like poison in the air.
Rowan’s knees buckled.
Aria caught him before he fell.
“My Alpha,” he whispered, eyes glassy with exhaustion and fear, “I didn’t mean to be trouble.”
Her jaw tightened.
Looking down at the bloodied, trembling omega in her arms—the beast that should not exist—Aria Nightborn felt something far more dangerous than fear stir in her chest.
Fate had noticed her.
And it had sent her a loyal monster.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully

She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...
